Great place to get craft beer in Fort Worth. Low-key spot with some great workers and great ambience.

Wanted to grab a cold beer with friends and suggested this establishment. It's been a while since my last visit when I picked up a six pack of my favorite Celestial Beerworks libation, so I was a little disappointed that the to-go beer stock had been taken over with additional seating options for the taproom. But at the same time, I was excited at the prospect of bringing a larger group of friends for my next visit. The folks at SC are very customer oriented and super friendly. You'll be surprised by their selection of both local and national brews in the taproom--so many great choices! I had a nice False Idol IPA that really hit the spot while we enjoyed our conversation sitting in the relaxing atmosphere of the taproom. Thanks Southside! read more

Being 1/4 mile from my office I decided to pop on over to Southside Cellar for a drink one night after work. The space is large, roomy, rustic and separated by a wall w/ramp into a retails space and a lounge/drinking space. The retail space has a phenomenal selection of local craft beers in various formats and we're not talking the stuff you see at the grocery store here folks. These are some limited and seasonal releases from almost all of the local players. The wine selection, while not huge, displayed some labels I'd never seen in my local store so that's a good thing. I nabbed a Zinfandel for later (haven't tried it as of this writing) and it was under $14 bucks. The loungy side was comfy, complete with overstuffed chairs and small couches to sit. They also have a plethora of pub tables and a smallish bar to sit at. The tap selection was one of the best I've seen in the area. I can easily see a weekly visit here just to taste what's been newly tapped. This would make a fantastic pre-game spot for local dining or nightlife. They DO NOT have food here so be prepared. read more

I guess I can do a five star here. I like this place about as much as the other beer bars I go to, so what the hell? It's pretty nice inside, and it's a neat place to hang out. Pretty good selection of craft beer, and to me it appears the prices are pretty reasonable. The space is divided into two areas, when you enter, it's the retail store area. Lotta beer for sale, with a little bit of wine. A set of coolers on the wall with cold beer if you're looking for that. Still though, looks like space is underutilized here, they have room for more inventory, looks like it to me anyway. The bar area is to the right with a little doorway about halfway down the wall. Nice setup with some old style furniture, along with a few tables by the bar and some bar stools. Had to be at least 30+ beers on tap when I was there, but only saw about 5 or so bottles of wine out, so "cellars" might be a bit of a reach. Pretty laid back, one visit during the week it was pretty dead, other on a weekend night it was full, but not packed. One of the nicer places I've found in the "near southside" and one of the few I go back to. Staff has been friendly and helpful. Hours are wrong at this time. Sun-Thur closing time is 10 PM. Yelp either won't, or hasn't changed it yet. Also, and something I really like, no TV's. Bring people with you or stare blankly into space like I do. read more

My absolute favorite place to hang out and drink beer in the South Main neighborhood. Fantastic ambience, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and always something new and interesting to try on tap. Always walk past this place and finally decided to try it out. It's a cellar and bar combined. We went straight to the bar and ordered a glass of Cabernet each and then walked through the cellar. We realized we paid more for 2 glasses of the same wine they were selling for the entire bottle. I wish there was an option to buy the bottle and enjoy it there. Next time, if I decide to come back, I'm definitely going to buy the bottle to go and take it back with me. The ambience wasn't great enough to offset the price difference. read more

We have visited for a few pints and hanging out and really had a good time. So, we decided to host a Navy retirement party at Southside Cellar and had a FANTASTIC experience and our guests agreed! Love the eclectic ambiance and variety of seating. No decorations needed to be brought in, it is perfect as is. Great staff that is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful! At their recommendation we made arrangements for food with Big Kat Burgers (food truck around the corner) and together, we had the perfect party. read more

I love this place!! Been here over a dozen times and shocked that I'd never written a review!! They have an incredible selection of craft beer - whether you want a 6 pack to take home or a delicious hazy something to sip on in their super cool living area / lounge spaces. They have 30+ selections on tap. Nice variety. They also have a couple of wines if your feeling like you can't handle anymore hops. Walking by and glanced in the window to see a couple playing cards and thought (huh?) and then saw it was a brew place. Went in to see the most fantastical period piece furniture, beer cans framed in suitcases on the wall and eye candy everywhere. A very cozy and comfortable beer and wine store and adjacent bar space. The building is approximately 100 years old and the vibe is quite appropriate for the age. Refreshing to drink in such a unique environment. The bar side has 30 craft draft taps to choose so one is sure to find a style to their liking. The bartender Tyler was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in letting us taste before we indulged fully. Grat place, can't wait to return. Awesome gem for craft beer and wine lovers in Fort Worth. The best selection of local and specialty craft beer that I have seen in the surrounding area and the prices are very competitive too. I was surprised to find some Ingenious Brewing and Celestial Brewing beers here. I will absolutely be back - I hate that I am just now finding out about this place! We popped in during a walk to check out the space, say hi and have a beer. On one side is retail offering a selection of craft beer and wine. On the other side is the bar and lounge with eclectic cozy seating, awesome beer selections and we had super friendly service by Tyler. I found this place on Yelp and I'd rather give my money to a local store, so I went to buy a bottle of Pinot Noir - the awning says "wine" and the name came up on wine stores. The "wine" section is about 12 bottles (being generous). I asked the only employee I saw if the one pinot noir was good, she only knew they sold a lot of Cloudfall pinot noir. I really wanted a bottle from Williamette valley but no such luck, here. She said she hadn't tried it - how do you not try the wine when you are only selling about 5 different brands? The price advertised was "cash only" but I didn't know that until I paid. It was $19.00 w/tax (cash) - wine is horrible - I don't blame her for not trying it. I mentioned I thought they would have more wine since their name state "cellar" and I don't know any beer cellars, but I don't drink beer, so there you go. She said they're mainly craft beer store. Next time, I will go to Costco, Tom Thumb and Target - where their prices are reasonable and they have a variety. read more
