Southside Diner is the cutest diner in town! It serves AMAZING breakfast and they also serve lunch!! The breakfast tacos are my absolute favorite! But today I ordered my second favorite the chicken & waffles! The environment is wonderful and the workers are so friendly! If I could order everything on the menu in one sitting, I would! What a great little hole in the wall. Came in for breakfast and the food lived up to the reviews. Ordered the Irish Benedict and a traditional omelette. The Benedict had corned beef, sauerkraut, a poached egg and hollandaise sauce all over an English muffin...times 2! Included a side of breakfast potatoes that were perfectly prepared and tastey. I enjoyed it 4 hours ago and am still stuffed! Not sure I'm a fan of eggs and kraut, but it has nothing to do with this place. The dish was expertly prepared and looked fabulous. It's a small diner that is Covid Compliant but it is a great place to come and get amazing breakfast. I came in with my friend and we ordered the chicken and waffles and the corn beef and hash. Seasoned to perfection, simply exquisite and so was the staff so humble and so inviting you would think you were in your grandmothers kitchen. I love the coffee the most, alot of diner coffees can be a bit chalky and isvery strong but this one had a very delightful hint that made having a 2nd cup worth it. Stopped in on Christmas Eve for the first time and it was just ok. The main side was filling up as was the counter,but side area was empty. Nothing was bad just nothing stood out. No frills place that drums up some creative takes on breakfast. There's your basic three eggs, a choice of meat, home fries and toast at $5.99 but you also have novelties like chicken and waffles and the chorizo Benedict. We came on a Wednesday morning at 8am, and by 10am the place was nearly filled- it's definitely loved by locals and fellow food enthusiasts. The gyro hash and the chicken and waffles were my favorite bites of the morning. The hash comes with a garlicky creamy sauce that pairs wonderfully with the gyro meat, feta cheese, and fresh tomatoes. My only complaint? More of those home fries to line the bottom- otherwise the meat and toppings can overwhelm the palate. Topped with two poached eggs, great savory dish. The fried chicken on the waffles was well-seasoned and crispy although it could've benefited from perhaps using the chicken's dark meat, the sriracha gave a little hotness to the sweet syrup on the waffles. I could've done without the homemade syrup and gone with the pitchers on each table, but it was a good bite. For the chorizo Benedict, a spicy chorizo and a mild hollandaise sauce paired well together but I was thrown off by the pineapple used for sweetness, the chewiness of the English muffin and the slice of cheese. Which I mention having just lived on the West coast for a number of years where they claimed to know diners - they don't. Also delis - they dunno them either! | Southside. My partner and I both had breakfast. I had potato pancakes which were not latkes, nor were they my leftover mashed potato pancakes. They tasted like pancake batter and potatoes! Go figure. They were good though. Came with apple sauce which really made me hope for latkes...they were good. Been back since then and had the Western omelette. No Shanon Doherty this time but great service just the same. Price is right and everything seems fresh and IS delish. Brother and friend suggested this place for breakfast! This is by far the best breakfast joint I've been to in Parma! It's so delicious!!! This place sure gets busy and sometimes you have to wait to get seated but it is totally worth it!! I would have to say that I am satisfied with the service and food! The owner is definitely very outgoing and hard working for he has been there every time I visit. The Eggs Benedict Florentine is so delicious!! All of the ingredients are frech and the hollandaise sauce is legit! Majority of the places I've been to in Parma claim their hollandaise sauce is delicious but it just tastes like chicken broth thickened by flour which is definitely disappointing! But this place.. they make everything right after you order! The presentation is beautiful just like the flavor of this dish. I have also tried their gyro which is definitely delicious and feeling. The gyro is just like any gyro but they toss the lamb in the sauce so the taste is consistent with every bite. The only thing that is different from this gyro from other places is that you can taste the freshness of their vegetables and they don't use as much salt as other places. Refills were continuous, food was reasonably priced, and the staff were great. Our waitress had our food out to us while it was still hot. First time in Ohio so jumped on yelp to find a breakfast spot. This was 15 mins away from the hotel but i loved the pictures and reviews so we made the drive. Let me say that i am very happy we did! First off the service was top notch. Honestly decent service recently is hard to come by but this establishment goes above and beyond decent, they were awesome. Drinks were always refilled, they checked in often to make sure we had what we needed, made recommendations etc. We were all thoroughly impressed and left happy. Now onto the food which is what we all want to know about. Everything we had was delicious! I had the clevelander sandwich, which is corned beef, turkey with coleslaw on rye. It was HUGE and delicious. The fries were just okay, but who cares when the sandwich was that great. We also had the French toast with Nutella and peanut butter, omg it was the perfect amount of sweet and savory. Everyone loved it! Last thing we had was the veggie breakfast wrap, which is also very good according to the person in our party who had it. Hands down, this place lives up to their rating both with service and food. Busy place on a weekend! Be prepared to wait at least 5-10 minutes for a table. The one thing in which I was not the biggest fan of was the service and lack of attentiveness we received from our server. After our food was delivered, she didn't not come back to see if we needed anything else or even how the food tasted. Even after all the madness with the Pandemic for the past 2 years, this place has not only stayed open, but they've stayed busy and their quality has been consistent. I've been coming here for over 10 years now, and after being out-of-town for 7 years, seeing that this gem is still producing some of the best "diner style" food you can get in the area, MAKES ME HAPPY! I put "diner style" in quotation marks because not many diners offer even 1/2 of the menu items they do, not to mention the taste, quality and great service! Since 10 years ago, the seating area has expanded, and so has their menu! Do yourself a favor, and try this place!
