I went in Sunday morning at 8:50am and they were busy. I said hello and made eye contact with three servers--one acknowledged me, the other two just stared stone faced and kept up with their serving. I moved out of the way for a takeaway order, but still hovered by the cash. One server placed drinks two feet from me on the counter and still wouldn't acknowledge me beyond a side eye. Two customers smiled and shrugged their shoulders commiserating so at least I knew to the rest of the world I wasn't invisible. No signs that I saw to seat yourself or wait to be seated. Three waitresses and not a pleasant face among them. The food did smell good but after three minutes and at least six purposely missed opportunities to be acknowledged I left. Maybe this is a place where surly attitudes are their shtick? Maybe a single person isn't worth seating? A "hi, hang on a minute" was all that was needed. I hope the kitchen is so good it boosts these career waitresses tips because their personalities are running at a solid 0%. read more

Been to Eat at Joe's several times. It's a classic, throwback diner with a regular clientele, and an attractive classic diner menu. The ambience is bright and cheery. My wife and I both ordered omelettes which came quickly and were very tasty. The coffee service was regular, friendly, and plentiful. I also got a buttermilk pancake, and my wife got hashbrowns, which were both cooked to perfection. We eventually left with a big smile on our face having started the day in such a friendly and fun place. This is one of those breakfast experiences one should not overthink. Take a look at the shredded hash browns in the pic. They were the best cooked shredded hash browns I've ever had. And I've prob eaten shredded hash browns a hundred times. Outside was perfectly crispy. Inside was cook just right. Eggs and meat were on point also but I couldn't say that was the best I've ever had but it's really hard to separate yourself with just over easy eggs. They are either cooked right or wrong. These were cooked right. My only complaint is if you go during the wkend when it's busy. The seating feels a little cramped. Service was fine got your traditional dinner ladies serving you. Price was fine on par with most dinners. I'm not around this area that often anymore but whenever I do come back to visit my parents I will be back. This is my new breakfast go to spot. read more

Great little find! So, I needed to get some salt in my system asap as I was about to donate platelets at the Red Cross and got denied last time for low blood pressure. So a couple hours before my appointment, I treated myself to a salty breakfast at Eat at Joe's in South Euclid. I've never been before and the place was very hard to find as it is hidden next to a CVS. I still don't understand how I was able to find it! It was mostly filled with an older crowd at 11am on a Friday and busy waitresses. The silverware was water stained and the floor badly needed a thorough vacuuming session. My waiitress already seemed worn-out, whispering, "3 more hours" under her breath. I feel bad as a cash only establishment means that the staff tend to earn less tips. Hopefully, the rest of her day went smoothly. I ordered the $6.99 combo of two scrambled egg whites, two sausage patties, hash browns, and two slices of lightly buttered rye toast. Upgrading to egg whites was $1.00 extra. The food was out FAST and was yummy! It's basic diner food and nothing is seasoned at all, but they have all the seasonings and condiments on the table. Overall, I'm glad to have tried out this very local breakfast dinner. When I am in a pinch to get some salt in my system, I can get it done cheaply here! read more

We were visiting from Cincinnati and found this place on Yelp and chose this locally owned "cash only" restaurant over the chains. The crowd was a diverse and eclectic crowd of locals ranging from little kids age to thriving seniors. We had coffee, Eggs Florentine, a Sausage and Egg omelette and hash browns. The coffee and food were great. Even though they were busy our coffee cups remained full. I estimate most of the time this is a pleasant place to have breakfast lots of regulars, had a great experience my first experience, came back my second time with my kids. I had a very unusual experience the ketchup bottle cap had some liquid outside the bottle, anyway this unidentified liquid when all over the table and my food when I tried to shake the ketchup, the bottle was closed and the liquid was not from the bottle. None the less the waitress was accusatory that I did it on purpose, she went back to ask if they would remake my food. She came back and said he will remake your food. As if it was questionable, she wiped off this unsanitary ketchup bottle and returned it to the table. She walked back behind the counter. I stood up with the bottle to show her why it was unsanitary because clearly she didn't understand what happened. Her response blew my mind and immediately telling me I was being aggressive and berating me with accusations in front of my children! The manager finally came over and heard me and saw the liquid in the cap because it was still all over the cap. This waitress continued to berated me in front of the entire restaurant and my kids, while I paid my bill and sat down to wait for my remade food. I don't know what this lady is going thru in her life, it was the most unprofessional dinning experience I have ever experienced! My two egg over easy platter served with a mound of bacon strips, wheat toast and well done has browns really hit the spot. And since we were about to play 18 holes of golf I had them throw one of their famous pancakes in the mix as well...so glad I did! The wife got the corn beef hash and eggs. I really enjoyed my omelet, my wife thought the corn beef hash was OK. Service was fantastic. The waitress took care of us well, my coffee cup was never empty and I drink a lot of coffee. The bill for 2 meals, and 2 drinks was like $22! You can't do much better than that.
