First time visit about 5:30 am on a Thursday morning. Very reasonable prices, good food cooked to order. Sat at the counter, good service. This place is small. while I sat and ate, noticed they do a solid take-out business. Seats 16 at the counter and up to another 24 at 6 booths. But on the day I visited 2 counter seats and 1 booth were 'out of order'. Harsh fluorescent lighting. The parking area was confusing in the dark. Next time I am looking for a place to eat in this area late or very early hours I will return.

We were going to go to Grumpy's cafe for Father's Day but at 9:00 the wait was already outside. So we looked for an option and went here. It may not be the best looking from the outside but i would take this place over a few places that I have been. The omelette i had was one of the best and the potatoes were exceptional and nothing was covered in grease and they also grind their own beans for coffee. All i can say is do not let the appearance intimidate you enter and enjoy some home cooked breakfast.

First time here (previously Sal's Diner), ordered carry out by phone. Large parking area in back. Small old school diner inside, can see the cook working feverishly in front of the counter seats. Maybe another 8 booths for seating. This is owned by the previous owners of Steve's 24hr Diner on Biddulph Road, that recently closed. This is about the same, open 24 hours and breakfast all day. The employees were pleasant and my order was perfect. I really enjoy their breakfast here and the famous chili dogs. For 2 breakfasts and 4 chili dogs came out to $22. You really can't beat that price anywhere. Give this place a try you won't be disappointed.

I've been passing by this place on my way to work for four years now and finally decided to stop. It's a very small spot but a very good one. All the food is made fresh on the grill top right in front of you. I like that. I also like how their potatoes are made. Not shredded or cube theyre true homefry hashbrowns. The melted butter with the French toast was a great touch. Definitely worth a visit!!!!

When you park, you aren't sure where, by you find a spot to fit in perfectly. Then you peer in from the outside, barely seeing in, and see that it's 24 hours. "Oh wow, I didn't know that!" We came in late on a Sunday night needing sustenance. We enter the door and see locals: some converse and others sit quietly---couples from the bars, clubs or a night of drinking and then individuals talking about their latest and greatest shitty job. The diner is old like the 70s and the menu is handwritten in multi-color dry erase. The ladies are welcoming, warm and it's like being at home. "This is going to be great," I say. I think, "this reminds me of my friends from high school... the goth was friends with the anarchist who was friends with the hippy who was friends with the neo-nazi." Portions are generous. This is a staple diner for breakfast or a "veal cutlet with gravy---hold the gravy." Nobody in Cleveland OFFERS you a hot sauce bottle this big. #Business.

Steve's is always excellent, every time I go to Cleveland I have one, used to be able to eat 3 or 4 but that ship has sailed.

Sal retired and Steve's bought the place and everything in it, down to the menus. I think the front of the building still says Sal's because the current owners really liked the guy and wanted to leave things up in tribute to him. Knock that confused…

The whole thing was covered with a gravy, chock full of sausage and, perfectly cooked mushrooms. I got a sweet potato cinnamon bun to go. Can't wait to try that later today!

Both were delicious! The biscuit was perfectly buttery, and it was covered in a rich, flavorful mushroom gravy and came with scrambled eggs. It was filling but somehow not too heavy. It was topped with a thin layer of rhubarb jam that brought a nice tartness along with a dollop of sorghum butter and whipped cream, and served with Ohio maple syrup on the side. I could have easily had a whole stack of the pancakes. The staff was friendly, and though the place was busy, the service was efficient. Excited to come here again! The Rowley Inn is located in a nice neighborhood (Tremont) across the street from the Christmas Story house. I had three meals there. The first, loaded pierogis, was the ultimate comfort dish. Pierogis with potato centers were covered in diced kielbasa, bacon (yes, bacon), and covered in cheddar cheese. Ahhhhh. The others at my table raved about the kielbasa and pierogi dish. They also liked the beer selection. How do you know you have a great find? You think about the meal long after it is consumed. Next meal- breakfast. I had the kielbasa and pierogi omelet. Need I say more? Finally, we came back a third time and I ordered the burger. No burger place (save Chuckbox in Tempe, AZ) can match the Rowley burger. The burger is actually seasoned and cooked to order. I had it medium rare. Sheer perfection. Typing this review makes me sad because I live far away from Cleveland. What we ate was decent, but honestly nothing that stuck with us enough to say- COME HERE! We definitely didn't understand all the good reviews when our food finally came out. They didn't even come out together and our second plate was wrong when it finally arrived so it had to get redone. So the service really got to us especially since there were only 2 other tables being waited on and a couple stragglers sitting at the bar. Parking is street parking in a neighborhood! So it can be hard during the day but we lucked out that evening.

We were totally fine with that, went and grabbed a coffee from a local shop, and then returned to the restaurant. Food was great and the server was so kind! The reason for the 3-star review is because the hostess was very rude. She completely shattered an easy 5-star review. We had nine people in the family, and one was golfing. We intended to put in a takeout order for him but due to the 45-minute wait, he ended up finishing before we were even seated. We invited him to come along and then we were called to be sat. We ordered his meal for him prior to him arriving and this was still a major problem for the hostess. She basically threatened to move us back outside and told us we were "holding the table" even though we would have never done that. Instead of giving me the opportunity to explain to her we would have done takeout anyways had he not arrived(but he did because again, it was a 45 minute wait), she just continued to talk over me. It made all of us very uncomfortable and the first 10 minutes we felt very on edge and unwelcomed. She then did the same thing to our ninth person when they walked in the restaurant 5 minutes after. He had no idea what had already occurred and was also caught off guard. Most of us worked in this industry in the past, and we thought we were doing the right thing by letting her know. Thank you to everyone else who helped soften our experience. It was very appreciated. Every person who brought a dish to our table was extremely kind. We all had something different on the menu and there were no complaints!

So for a grand total of $24.90, I got the Doris sandwich (a breakfast pork burger and egg sandwich) with added pickles and mixed greens, as well as an order of their famous cornmeal fries and a side of sunshine sauce. Everything was packaged fabulously in their iconic retro-diner style packaging and was still hot upon arrival. The buttery brioche bun was without a doubt, some of the best bread I've had in a while. I forgot the ricotta was supposed to be there because it mostly tasted liked mushroom, but it was good. I also got the cinnamon monkey bread. This was not good. It was seemingly cooked in the paper that it was served in so the top of the bread pieces were crunchy, the middle was softer and then everything else was completely stuck to the paper. I didn't get to eat about 1/3 of what I paid for and I had to work really hard for the other 1/3. Also, the bread had a very spicy taste. It must have been cinnamon and allspice, but it was entirely too much and very overpowering. It truly tasted like a spicy savory bread which is not what I was expecting or wanted. Monkey bread is usually gooey and sweet. This missed the mark, but that's okay. I'll certainly return for another treat soon. Also the bread was looking fire this day.
