Horrible establishment. The management is clueless to any industry standards of cooking or health codes. Briefly worked here to help out the clueless owner ,who has only recently obtained the business, with dishes. The manager daily was aggressive, loud, crass, and beyond reasonable with a conteol complex. Absolute no professional behavior from management. On a daily basis I witnessed the manager sneeze and cough and bleed around food while also serving. I honestly called the health department and would never eat here or allow a child to eat here. There are no policies in place and the lack of knowledge on basic health and food handling is enormous. Lack of hot water is also a huge problem considering no one can wash their hands properly or the dishes. read more

Parking is tough, there aren't many spots out front, but it's Lakewood so that's kind of typical so plan accordingly. read more

The food is really good. I had a tuna melt with fries. The tuna salad was the perfect combo of tuna, veggies and mayo. The fries were perfection. Thin and crispy. The portion that came with my sandwich was huge and enough so that my husband thought I had ordered him a side of fries to go with the corned beef sandwich I brought home for him. I ordered from Uber eats, and there was a bit of a mixup with my order. The driver was very apologetic. I'm not sure how the mixup happened, but I work in a restaurant and I'm well aware of how hectic it can get. I ordered the Meat Lovers Omelette, and ended up with a MASSIVE Breakfast Wrap, basically the same ingredients as an omelette with some extra. Let me tell ya, they mean business with that thing! Inside, the staff is warm and welcoming, there's a pastry cabinet with some delicious pies and desserts, also some to go items and bottled soft drinks and water. Our server took a few minutes as they were tending to some carry-out orders, but when she arrived we were ready to order our breakfast (and coffee, of course) Our food quickly arrived, I had the meat lovers omelette (duh) which was a good, low frills execution of a three egg omelette with bacon, sausage, ham, and ...? Seem like 4 , just can't remember the fourth. Served with home fries. The home fries are cooked with green peppers and onions (as they should be!). And although they were not super crispy, they were good. Needed a bit more spice. My son had the breakfast sandwich, which he approved of and immediately consumed the whole thing. It's a great place for diner food in Lakewood. The service has been great every time that we've been in. It's not the largest establishment, so probably not the best place for more than 6 people, but we've been seated with 6 people in a reasonable amount of time. I've have the Huevos rancheros and the Eagle special. They also have great French fries. There is a parking lot, but they share the lot with a laundry mat. You can park across the street at the school or on a side street. If you're looking for good food, at a good price, with good service, this is your place. read more

Asked for scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage links, rye toast, home fries. The egg came as an unmixed (yellow and white), single layer, folded omelet. Which I don't mind, but is nowhere near scrambled. The cheese was literally just slapped on top. The sausage links were overdone and had a weird taste to them. I have been wanting to go to this place forever when I'm on my way down Detroit going to Discount Drug Mart. I had the occasion to go out to lunch with my friend Jean, and suggested this was a place that we had never been to either of us. She really enjoyed her chicken ranch Wrap special of the day and I had a breakfast sandwich which was awesome. Didn't have to wait at all. It had great reviews so of course I had to check it out for myself. I realized that I've driven past this place a few times and boy am I glad to have finally stop in. Parking is easy because there's a full lot since the place is located near a laundromat and a convenient store I believe. Street parking is always an option here. Service was great as expected. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, but not overbearing. The interior was very simple, nothing fancy or modern which added to the comfy ambience of the place. The perfect setting for breakfast/comfort food. I had the Grand Slam, which is pancakes, eggs and sausage; a simple, yet filling meal. Three stars for A-Okay. It's definitely one of those low-key diners with lower prices, but I can't say the food was great. I did take-out, young kid on the phone was patient and nice. Same in person, this is probably his after school job. Inside seems clean, cool that the kitchen is partially open so you can see what's going on when you sit in certain spots. Country fried steak $8.75. I was disappointed to find out they used a processed frozen breaded meat patty instead of making the country fried steak themselves. The home fries with peppers and onions was pretty good though with the gravy and eggs. They do make their own strawberry jam and you get a once ounce side with your toast (they almost forgot my toast so make sure you check your bags before leaving). Reuben $11.50 plus $2.50 when you make it a platter by adding fries and coleslaw. Always enjoy fresh cut fries and was excited to try their homemade garlic aioli, but I really couldn't taste garlic in it. When I ate the reuben the next day the meat was all dry and the sandwich was not that appealing. Definitely not the buttery corned beef experience I have had at other restaurants. I also think quality food should still be good even after being refrigerated one night... I try to give most places a second chance and will do so here, but I'm in no rush. read more

This location holds some nostalgia. Went here when it was Tina's back in high school. Place was nice and clean servers were super nice. Order the Eagle special (scrambled eggs, corn beef, hash browns and wheat toast). Everything was good especially the corn beef. Only reason I am not giving this a 5 star is their "scrambled" eggs are not what most normal people would ever call scrambled eggs. The egg resembles that of a normal fried egg with some yolk mixed in. They weren't bad but I wanted scrambled eggs and those were not scrambled. You should let your customers know this before you let them order. If I knew that's the way there were gonna be I would of just ordered over easy. read more

Second time visiting under new management. Second time disappointed. Scrambled eggs came out like firm crepe. Was asked if I wanted onion and peppers in my hash and I said yes. Was expecting them to be diced and mixed into the hash but what came out was a blob of super slimy green peppers plopped on top of my hash. Easy to pick off but completely unappetizing. The toast was buttered cold which left a giant chunk of unmelted butter in the center. The hash was canned which is fine for me but it was also really wet and could have been more crispy on the outside. There was no one in there but it appeared that the kitchen was in a rush to get my food out and really sent out a bad plate. I intended to not go back after the first time but then considered that sometimes it takes a few months to work it out in a new kitchen. Probably wont go back again. Coffee was very good. read more

This little hidey-hole has quickly become one of my boyfriend and I's favorite breakfast spots. We discovered it because of trusty Yelp - YAY - and were more than pumped to see that the positive reviews were most definitely accurate. I've had everything ranging from a legitimate bacon egg and gooey cheese breakfast sandwich to some perfectly crisp french fries. It's not an open kitchen, but right smack dab in the center of the cafe so you can smell all the delicious creations and have total confidence that everything is made fresh and served piping hot. So far there hasn't been a menu item we've tried and disliked. My boyfriend's a huge fan of their strawberry jam atop rye bread... please tell me he's a little crazy? I love their jam, and I love rye... but separate please. Then again, I like to keep my sweet and savory apart. I'm only leaving one star because I have to so I can write a review. I used a delivery service to order food, paid almost $50! With everything I ordered. Once I got my food I was very disappointed. Scrambled eggs are actually dried out flat/inlet paper thin eggs. Who the hell makes eggs like this that are SCRAMBLED!?! Next, my turkey sausage was BEYOND burnt and stale, my dog wouldn't even eat it. Then yes I asked for onions on my potatoes but I didn't expect a heaping pile just to be piled up. Needless to say, this will be my first AND last time ordering food from them because I even called the restaurant to POLITELY complain, not expecting anything in return, the lady I spoke with basically didn't give a rats ass.
