Horrible and ruthless people! The fact that towing even exist shows what a horrible society we live in. My parents were visiting me at my apartment today and he parked in the spot next to mine, which is always empty because he couldn't find a spot in the very limited guest spaces. We literally left it for a half hour and kept checking to see if anyone would come and try to park there so that we can move it. Suddenly the car is gone and there's another car there. We had no idea where the car went. I even left a note on the car and they didn't call me. Thankfully, my dad put a GPS chip in his car and we were able to locate it at this godforsaken place. The guy was very short with us and as he was explaining all the charges (575!) listing every single thing we had to pay for. He was the one acting rude and had a tone in his voice and when he got to the part where he said it was outside office hours he sounded annoyed and even raise his voice so then I said ok fine we get it. Can you get to the total? We can just give you the total and He had the audacity to call me rude! I was scared out of my mind. We couldn't find my dad's car and did they even ask for proof if that was there parking spot? Because they don't give us parking permits or proof that those are our spots. They just tell us verbally that that is our spot. So how would the towing guy know if the guy was telling the truth or not? You just towe anyone's car without proof if they were actually parking in the wrong spot?? Absolutely horrible!! read more

Keeping this number close by - these guys rock! F250 broke down on the way to work one morning and they were able to dispatch someone right away to tow me on a flat bed to the mechanic. Another tow actually recommended them as my GVWR was 10,000lbs (so you know they are good). Walter was super cool and actually made the experience enjoyable. Last time I needed a tow, it took 2 1/2 hrs. to get someone out there - Southside was there in 45 mins. (and this happened in the morning at 7am, before everyone opens)! Receptionists are horrible. You can tell they deal with disgruntled people everyday because they literally don't care. Showed up at 9 to tow yard to get my car. Hours of service are 8-5. No one is here. Charlie the manager is also a driver he was out picking up another car. I understand I made mistake with my community parking. I am prepared to pay a fine. I have been patient up to this point. Not having people to work the desk is bad business and customer service. Edit: I'm annoyed. Charlie showed up and he is nice and agreeable. I recommended he puts a sign that he will return in x number of minutes or educates the receptionist on communication. I would have planned my day around it. I was involved in an accident on the freeway today and when David Padua showed up, he looked at my car and said he thought he could make it driveable (if I was comfortable driving it) by zip tying my bumper up. He offered to drive me to Home Depot where he went in with me to get the zip ties. After he was finished my car ran just fine and I was able to get home on the freeway! Two stars because the people who work there are very pleasant and helpful. Otherwise they are total price gaugers. My HOA uses them to tow our cars from in front of our houses (gotta love CA). Almost $500 to get my car back the day it was towed. ridiculous! They tell you that they base their rates by what local law enforcement charges. This is pursuant to statute. Horrible attitude these b*itches have! Called on a Friday to ask if I can get my belongings out of my car on a Saturday, and I was advised to call and make an appointment the day of. Never once was I told there would be a fee of $150 to do so on the weekend. Had that been mentioned the first time I called, I would have went during the week to avoid the fee. Called today (Sunday) spoke To someone who must hate their job, had no clue about the fee, cause again, THAT WAS NEVER MENTIONED. her exact words were "it's not my problem you got your car towed for your registration and it's not my problem you didn't take down the information you were given, everyone is made aware of the fee we charge to come get your belongings on the weekends, you can either pay the fee or come during normal business hour." Asked for a manage, she said I couldn't speak to one. ??? I understand there are fee's and certain policies but WHY BE RUDE????? Southside Towing has the nicest people under their employment. I parked my car somewhere I shouldn't have and ended getting up getting towed. It was completely my fault. When I went to go get my car from the impound lot, the gentlemen helping me were nothing but professional and kind. My car is old and is constantly having mechanical issues, so when I tried to take it home, it wouldn't start. Justin, in the office, helped me troubleshoot to try and figure out what the issue with my car was. I eventually decided to call AAA to have them take a look at the car. Justin and another employee (I wasn't able to get his name) offered me a cold water and allowed me to sit in their air conditioned office while I waited for AAA. The circumstances surrounding my car being impounded we're completely my fault. These guys were awesome! They arrived in less than 20 minutes to tow the illegally parked truck that was in my assigned spot. Brian was extremely professional and very, VERY nice and friendly. It was raining, he was soaking wet, and he was still cheerful. He got the illegal truck out of a VERY tight parking spot, without touching the wall or car on either side of it, even though it was backed into the spot. He happily explained tricks of the trade on how they do the incredible feat of getting cars out without damage. I am very curious on how stuff works. Being female, I run into some men who just roll their eyes at me, and give me the short answer. So I was very appreciative that Brian did not do this to me. He also took pictures before moving the vehicle. So I imagine this is not a nice or easy job for these guys. I am POSITIVE most of the bad reviews for this company is because they are our official towing company for our complex. Brian, said he had just been to our complex the night before to tow another illegally parked vehicle.
