It is truly regrettable, but I am writing this for the sake of future customers and Sea Country. To begin with, the driver of the truck I hired to transport my motorcycle from OC to LA for repairs attached the tie-down straps to the handlebar grips instead of the handlebars themselves, damaging the grips in the process. When I called Sea Country about this, the person on the phone told me to "file a claim via email." After reluctantly filing the claim by email, I had the bike repaired and received the receipt; during that time, I called them repeatedly but could never get through to anyone. A week after the incident, I traveled to LA to pick up the bike, only for the representative to finally email me the next day saying, "We'll pay for it, but you have to bring us the broken grips." However, I had left the old grips at the shop in LA when I picked up the bike. They were the ones who broke my bike, yet they were telling me to go all the way back to LA to retrieve the parts! If that was the requirement, why hadn't they answered my calls or emailed me sooner? I called repeatedly to explain the situation, but no one would speak to me, and I was never able to reach the claims department. I eventually realized that their terrible service was intentional. Their supervisor is apparently named Charlie; everyone acts according to his instructions, likely avoiding direct conversation or disputes by limiting communication strictly to email. Yet, the email responses weren't even prompt--they would just send instructions about once a week, treating me as if *I* were the one at fault. They did nothing, while I was the one running around doing all the legwork. The issue was finally resolved after five weeks, but there was no apology for the time, effort, and fuel costs I incurred traveling between OC, LA, and Sea Country. They may be competent at towing cars, but their motorcycle towing and claims handling are abysmal. I have never experienced anything like this before. The only silver lining is that I learned a valuable lesson. I sincerely hope they mend their ways and start doing excellent work. read more

I waited before writing this so I could be calm and factual. Unfortunately, my experience with Sea Country Towing was deeply negative and felt predatory. The driver assured me that towing my car to their lot wouldn't be an issue. Because this happened right before Christmas, I was out of town briefly. When I returned, I received a DMV notice stating a lien had been placed on my vehicle--without ever being contacted by the company. When I called, I was told the lien would be dropped only if I paid $1,900 in cash, reduced from $2,300, after speaking with a manager who had already "left for the weekend." I can't speak to other companies' pricing, but I can say this company appears more focused on profit than ethics, taking advantage of people when they're already in tough situations. I would strongly caution anyone considering using Sea Country Towing. read more

I contracted with the Auto Club (roadside assistance service) for a tow, and the dispatch confirmed Sea Country Towing would arrive by 8:40 a.m. I waited at the location as instructed. At 8:50 a.m., after no truck had arrived, I called the Auto Club to check on the delay. I was told that Sea Country Towing had accepted the job and then, without notice or explanation, declined it and handed it off to another provider. I followed up with Sea Country Towing and they confirmed the situation. Rather than addressing my concerns, she was rude throughout the call and repeatedly cut me off while I was speaking. No one from the company took ownership of the missed commitment or the poor communication. A company certified through the Auto Club should honor its commitments, communicate clearly, and treat customers with basic professionalism. This experience showed a lack of reliability and respect at every stage. I cannot recommend Sea Country Towing based on this interaction. read more

Absolutely appalling customer service. I was in a situation where I felt unsafe and was relying on Sea Country Towing for help. Instead of providing assistance, MARY intentionally hung up on me. Being disconnected while you're stranded is unacceptable, but intentionally ending the call when someone is trying to get help is inexcusable. I've never been treated with such a lack of professionalism or basic human decency. If your employees can't handle customers with empathy during roadside emergencies, they shouldn't be answering the phones. No one calling a towing company is having a good day, and this experience made an already stressful situation far worse. I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. There are plenty of towing companies that understand what customer service means. I certainly won't be using Sea Country Towing again. read more

Left my wife stranded. Battery truck comes out and says it's the alternator. Tells my wife that a tow truck will be there in 45-60 minutes. 75 minutes later she asks me to call AAA. They have no service requested for her car (7:45pm) AAA says battery request is closed out and she needed to request tow service even though the tech told her it was on the way. Both AAA and Sea Country didn't get a truck to her until after 10:30 pm even though one was promised before 9 pm. I don't know who to be more angry at. All of this happening as her phone is dying and I am trying to help from Northern California. What a sh#t show. read more

Predatory towing company. Called triple A and one of their drivers who originally was not my assigned driver towed my car back to their facility rather than one of my choosing. They preyed on me when I was stuck on the side of the road. Afterwards when I had to go to their lot the lady at the front desk was rude and pressured me to pay them to total/release my car to them. At the time I didn't know any better when in reality my car could have been sold off for parts or at least to a different scrap yard. They probably made even more profit off my misfortune selling off my engine and car for scrap metal. read more

The receptionist was so rude and didn't want to have my truck towed to my house and she wanted it to be taken to a shop! And this was at midnight when my truck broke down. And when Tow truck arrived the receptionist told the driver not to take my truck to my house. So I called AAA because AAA contacted Sea Country Towing and finally they were able to take my truck to my house. So much hassle. I've used many towing companies in the past and this by far was the worst one! Jonathan, the driver took over an hour to arrive. I'm not sure if he was new but he barely said a word and seemed like he didn't know what to do. Felt like I was doing all the work and he was the customer. He pulled his tow truck about 200 ft away from the car for some reason and didn't get out of the tow truck. I had to walk to him and show ID, which he looked confused when reading the ID and asked what the ID was for and some other questions. I had to drive the car myself, whereas other tow companies were very quick and jumped in the car and did all the work. He also took forever to connect the car to the tow truck, using one hand to gently carry and tie everything together. Wasn't even sure if he secured the car tightly. Upon drop off, he left the car out in the middle of the street per their policy, which was weird since that's never been an issue with other towing companies. read more

So I called AAA for a tow and Sea Country was assigned to me-- they call me and tell me they're 23 minutes away. Yes 23 minutes and then 10 minutes later another tow company calls me ERS and they say they're supposed to tow me and I said no sea country is they didn't tell me they were one in the same so I thought it was some kind of a scam. Tow companies are famous for parasite off other tows but the 23 minutes now turned into an hour and 30 minutes. Horrible communication horrible follow through I would never have these guys tell me if I had to. It's obvious to me. I genuinely mean that. Even though it was short (good thing) it was quick and perfect. From start to finish including driving time the whole process took maybe 20 minutes. Greg was quick professional and made sure my low profile BMW was safely handled without a single scratch. He checked everything before we left and made sure I felt comfortable with the whole process. This actually happened while I was at work. I have been either towed or rescued by Sea Country towing about three times in the past, and I have always enjoyed their professionalism and knowledge. This particular time Dustin drove out into the rural areas where I had run over a metal shard and got a flat. No one at my work knew how to access the spare to change the tire. Dustin came out and instructed me how to deal with Chevy commercial models for spare tires, and he lowered the spare tire and put it on. He was very nice and professional. Yesterday when I came off of a 12 hour shift, I came out to a flat tire. I was exhausted and not thinking clearly. AAA dispatched a tow truck driver. Demilo, showed up and went above and beyond for me. He had found a tire shop within a couple of miles of where we were, towed me there, and I was able to drive home.
