So I say my appointment is at 5:45 when is this person coming she says Oh I don't know I have to call her and this is apparently the owner she's calling. It's now 6:05p she's still on the phone with the owner. Talking about another 15 to 20 minutes before she gets here.

First…read moreoff we booked our appointment through online and emailed the artist (Dan) pictures of what we wanted without any response. I was going to call to confirm but they ended up sending a text about 2 days before our scheduled tattoo date which is fine. On the website/multiple reminders it says to arrive 10 minutes early. Dan didn't arrive until 5 minutes past our schedule time which okay whatever thats fine, except he brought his 3 year old child with him when he finally arrived. It would be one thing if the kid had something to entertain him but no he was throwing things at me and my husband and was all over our artist while trying to draw the outline for our tattoos. Honestly, this was my biggest annoyance and regret for not just walking out, get someone to watch your freaking kid. He kept saying "your mom is going to come soon" but she definitely didn't come until he was mostly through the tracing of our tattoos. In fact at one point Dan was holding his wiggling child that wouldn't sit still while he was tracing one of my tattoos. Besides the annoyance of his toddler being there, Dan was very unprepared and unprofessional. He never properly introduced himself or asked our names. He seemed like he didn't care because we were getting smaller tattoos. He had no idea what we wanted and traced everything which took up most of our time. We each were getting a tattoo for our sick dog and at one point my husband said this and Dan just ignored him. All 4 of our tattoos look horrible, the line work on one of mine is absolutely horrible. It's embarrassing. My husband even made a comment when Dan finished the very small tree he did on my husbands wrist that it didn't look fully green and almost like there was brown in it and Dan got very offended. After another artist tried to give some bs reason why it looked like that, my husband let it go. After he finished all of our tattoos, he immediately said we can come back in a month for touch ups. Yeah fucking right, we're never setting foot in that place again. Lastly, their bathroom was disgusting. Unfortunately, we didn't realize this until after he finished our tattoos. There was a huge puddle on the floor in the front of the toilet and there were no paper towels anywhere to dry your hands and that was the only sink in this tiny basement they call a tattoo shop. If your artist is late and the bathroom is nasty...LEAVE!!

I contacted Frank weeks ago, to ask him about scheduling a time we could visit from MA to get our first tats. He was so great, he actually opened the studio specifically to accommodate our schedule when we would be visiting from out of state. He was great. We shared designs over emails and spoke over the phone. He was frank and advised us and we ended up getting 3 done today. I got one on my outer wrist, and my son got his matching one on his inside arm and then an arm band. The band is one based on something we saw and liked. Frank modified the piece and made a piece of art that is now a custom piece that no one else will have. My son is so happy. When we came in we sat and talked and got to know each other. He made sure we were not nervous, wanted us to know his home was our home, answered all questions, and made us feel so comfortable. He is not only professional with years of experience and an incredible talent, he also has a great eye. He understands the technical aspect behind his art, and the psychological aspect of tattoo. We really were interested also in the spiritual side of tattoo and learned so much about this. Really interesting. Frank has so much information to share, you only have to ask. We now know, that we will never get ink anywhere else. We can highly recommend Frank and Three Roses. The back room, with the TV, art books and his hand drawn art was just so great. Joe's is the oldest tattoo parlor in Westchester, and one I have passed by frequently while walking in downtown White Plains. There were several aspects that led to me choosing here - the legacy, the reviews, and the fact they had a dedicated piercer on staff with a lot of experience. I noticed they took walk-ins, so on a day off I decided to head over. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by their piercer Shiela; it was not busy so after signing the standard forms I made my way to the back. I didn't go nuts - just one piercing in each lobe, and throughout the process Shiela was great. She was super sweet, knowledgable, professional, and gave great tips to ensure proper healing. She did everything that I read a good piercer should do. Overall, I was really satisfied with my experience. I've only had the piercings a couple of months so I still have a ways to go with the healing, but I love them and wouldn't hesitate to return should I want another.
