The absolute worst. I will never come back. Made an appointment for Thursday 5:45p for dermal removal since they are the ones that put it in. Spoke with the guy several times Tuesday. I told her to call the man that I spoke to she calls him 10 minutes later she comes back and tells me he forgot to tell me that his wife is coming mind you was 5:57 my appointment was at 5:45 been here since 5:30 was not greeted or anything until 5:55. I went yesterday with my daughters to get their naval pierced...there were a lot of nerves, BUT Eddy made their experience WONDERFUL! My younger daughter went first and he was SO patient, funny, experienced, thorough with what he was going to do, that it made the experience that much more at ease. Everything was clean and sterile and Eddy made sure we were comfortable before anything began. I have gone to Tribu 4 times now for piercings (lobes, septum, helix, daith, forward helix, second helix, conch). Every single time I come, my piercer (Johana) makes me feel so comfortable with the process. She shows all of the materials she's using and explains that they're sterile and new, explains what she's going to do, and helps me with any questions I have. I have never had an issue with any of my piercings I get from here (always wash with sterile saline spray only twice a day, never touch it) and I have never had any issue with any of the staff. The reservation process to get a piercing is so easy, you either call ahead or reserve on their website. The piercers are also part of the APP and have their certificates displayed inside the piercing room. I plan on coming to Tribu more in the future to finish my ear setups because I love how comfortable Tribu makes me feel and how the price points for piercings are reasonable as well! read more

The earring they gave me for my conch was way too small and they pierced it in the wrong place. The earring ended up getting pulled and tore the hole a little bigger. On top of that, the gauge (width) of the earring was way too big, according to another piercer I went to. I ended up getting an insane infection and had to go to another place to get it fixed. If you're gonna go, make an appointment ahead of time bc piercer comes and goes according to appointments. This was my first time getting pierced at Tribu. I came in on a Wednesday evening- there was one woman working in the front of the store and one piecer working. Although there was only one employee working and a few other people already in the store, I was basically helped right away. The employee was really helpful explaining the pricing for the jewelry and service, and she patiently waited while I debated which jewelry to get for my forward helix. After paying, I probably waited less than 5 minutes before going into the room to get pierced. Johanna was the piercer for me. After marking the placement, she asked me how I preferred to know when she was going to pierce my forward helix. I had read about how painful forward helixes were, and I had a bad experience with my double helix I had gotten elsewhere, so I was expecting the most painful experience for this piercing. However, I didn't even feel anything when the jewelry went in or when she was making final adjustments to the jewelry. Hands down the most pleasant piercing experience I've ever had! read more

Kind of shocked that this has a lot of five star reviews, though I guess it could possibly have to do with who's working. I am definitely not planning to go here again. The girl at the counter seemed rather bored the whole time she was assisting me and I was already apprehensive about getting new piercings. I got both my second lobes done that day as well as a new helix. The man who pierced me was nice enough, but he definitely botched the helix piercing. I've had a simple helix piercing previous to this and it barely bothered me and I had no healing issues. He gave me a new helix right next to the old one - it took him forever and I have never been in such excruciating pain as he struggled to get the jewelry in. Since then, I've had a much harder time getting this helix to heal than my first one, which healed cleanly and quickly. There's also the fact that I came in looking for your typical 20g ear lobe piercings. I specifically asked him what gauge they were and he assured me they were 20. I am looking at them now and they are far from 20, they are obviously thicker than regular lobe earrings, and are the same width as my nose ring, which is an 18. So faulty information and the wrong size piercings, strike two. And the last thing, I found it very weird that they only had the jewelry available in the counter displays. Meaning - they only had one of each thing. A lot of the displays were picked clean when I went, so I felt like my choices were pretty limited. Limited to the point where my lobe piercings are not even matching - they didn't even have duplicates of regular piercing jewelry, it was literally just one of each thing, so I had to pick two different lobes. Maybe they were just behind on shipments? Overall, I definitely didn't like this place and wouldn't recommend it. Check out local parlors near you and become friends with the owners, and you'll find someone who will make you feel at home and also work together with you to match you with the perfect pieces. I've since moved away from my personal tattoo parlor, so it looks as though I'll need to find a new one. This place being in a mall made it far too commercial. Again, maybe there are better employees who work there, but the two I got were unwelcoming and didn't give me what I came for at all. I had to have my tragus piercing removed in the ER last night bc it became embedded. It was only 6 weeks old. The head of the earring was too small for a new piercing and the kept getting caught on every little thing. I went back to tell them and they were very dismissive. The girl in the store couldn't answer my questions at the time but convinced me to get titanium. I don't think it mattered after all. beware! i got my nipples pierced here and i now need plastic surgery to correct my nipples and parts of my breast!! the piercer didnt know what she was doing and pierced way underneath my nipples., she pierced them with small bars which you use after healing while they have long bars there! she doesnt know tf shes doing and is an idiottttt. thats absurd. might as well have gone to get my breast chopped off! and i now have veins popping out all over my breast! i will find a way to sue them for this wrongdoing. i wish i could give zero stars read more

I've been coming to this place for my piercings since before it became an official shop! When it was just a stand in Stamford, I would usually go there for my septum jewelry. So when I heard that they were getting their own place within the mall, I was so excited! My first visit happened when I needed to get my septum re-pierced because the other place I got it at messed up. It was one of the first days of their opening and seeing them grow over the years has been really cool!! I've gotten my bridge, my lip, my transverse lobe, etc. done by different people, but all of them were friendly and cooperative! Overall, a very off-putting experience. The piercers would rarely answer questions confidently and gave me barely any AND the complete wrong information about cleaning. On top of it, one of them is crooked and they both bled profusely for a few weeks, which they're not supposed to do. (keep reading for more details about my visit) Cleaning instructions: 2/10 Hygiene: 8/10 Atmosphere and Attitude: 3.5/10 Placement: 4/10 (they looked right but I'm fairly certain she pierced a blood vessel) After doing months of research for my first cartilage piercing, a double helix, I decided to go back to Tribu, where I had gone for my triple lobes. My first experience there, triple lobes, was with the male piercer Sergio. He talked me through the procedure calmly, though back then I wasn't as read up about piercings as I am now. I was pleased with the result until the healing process. I've gotten them a bit over a year now and they still both me sometimes, which they definitely shouldn't. Could be something on my part, but that struck me as odd. Another thing is when he asked me to look in the mirror to check that I liked where he had placed them, I pointed out that they had looked a bit crooked. He then sort of stuttered out that my original lobe piercings had been crooked, so he made them match on each side. I'm sure thats true (Claire's with a gun, yuck), the awkward, nervous way he said it kind of sketched me out. He went though with the piercings, one of which he got through it two separate pushes (thats the one that still bothers me), an initial push that wasn't strong enough, and a painful second one to attempt to fix his mistake. I do live by the cleaning spray they sell there (which is not their brand), but the cleaning instructions were not detailed at all. Consisted of their number if I needed help and telling me to spray it every night. My second experience, about two months ago for a double helix, was with Johanna. I came in and she was much less verbally soothing as her husband. She didn't attempt to prepare me at all and after cleaning my ear, shoved the needle through abruptly without even asking me to be still and take a deep breathe. Though a good way to make it hurt less while you're not expecting it, definitely not a good tactic for getting a nicely placed piercing. I'm very lucky it didn't end up terribly, but one of them is a bit at weird angle because of that bad move. Also, not preparing me and asking me to take a deep breath when she knew it was my first ever cartilage piercing was very inconsiderate and irresponsible. Neither of them bled very much when I got them. The second one was done better, almost perfect, and then I was given the same bogus "cleaning instructions". Johanna also told me never go near it even with a t-tip to remove crust, because "the pressure from the stream of the spray will take it off", absolutely not true. The thing that really made me say, "I'm never going back there again", on top of it all, was an interaction I had after the piercing process was over. I noticed they had tea tree oil in a display case. When we started talking about it, the woman behind the counter and with the verification of Johanna, said you put some on a q-tip to remove bumps. When I asked them what you're supposed to dilute it with, they told me that you didn't need to dilute it. "Oh, so it's already diluted then?" you think, because tea tree oil is very strong and will burn your skin and especially your piercing if you put it on pure. "No, you just put some on a q-tip and rub it on." I know that's absolutely not what you do. The day after in school, I noticed I felt something warm behind my ear, and after feeling it, I pull my hand back covered in blood. It took me tons of paper towels and water to clean it off, I had been bleeding into my hair heavily. For the next couple of weeks I could never look in the mirror with blood not pooling in my ear. She must have pierced a blood vessel in my ear, because it was seriously caked into my ear, hair, and pillow 24/7 for at least two weeks after, could have been more. Lucky for me, they're healing quite nice and are barely sore anymore. I do give Victoria (I think that was her name, behind the counter) some points for putting up with listening to my mother and I argue about it for forty minutes while waiting for Johanna to get back from her lunch break. read more

Great and convenient spot to get pierced, it's right at the Stamford mall. My past piercings have been done at tattoo parlors, so having a piercing shop on its own is a lot more inviting (in my opinion, at least). Joanna pierced my cartilage. She was very thorough with the process and very clean. Anyone entering the piercing room needs to sanitize their hands and all the tools are opened in front of you from the sanitation packet. This is my 9th piercing and probably the best experience I've had so far. I will definitely be coming back for more! read more

This place is great to get a piercing! However, I went in to get my navel pierced and since I had more of a tummy, Johanna placed the piercing a lot higher and deeper. I don't recommend doing this because the skin was a lot more tender and irritated and caused a lot more problems than it would have been normally. There is a lot more swelling because of it and there are higher chances of migration, rejection, etc. I got my navel pierced on a Monday and by Saturday, the skin was deep red and irritated so I went to a different place to have it checked out. It ended up being that the placement was terrible and I had to get it re-pierced! If you have more of a tummy, go to a tattoo parlor instead. I was weary going here in the first place, but they have great prices. If you're torn going here rather than a tattoo place, it ends up costing roughly the same amount so I would go to the other places. Thanks :) read more

Got my belly button pierced and my friend got both her nipples done and we had a great experience. Johann was our piercer. We only had to wait a few minutes, and the whole experience was very respectful and professional - no awkwardness at all. They make everyone sanitize their hands before entering the piercing room, use a sterile surgical tray, open the sterile instruments right in front of you and wear gloves and a face mask. We are in medical school so all of this was important to us. Johann was meticulous when marking us and had us check the markings for each other and ourselves in the mirror to make sure we agreed they were centered and even. Got my belly button pierced about 2 months ago in the beginning it looked completely fine but then i was getting really bad pain from it and realized the ring was going into the whole i went back and a worker guy looks younger told me that the pierced did my piercing wrong because there was too much skin and that ring was to small so i asked if they can put a longer one in and was told they dont have any in the store , he told me to clean if with tea tree oil and it should get better , it didnt. There was puss all over the ring was going into the whole and now i have a scar. Went back a week ago to get my tragus pierced. She marked it it looked great and then pierced it in a whole completly different spot. The earing looks like i got it into my cheek and is also very very swollen , through out the week ive been cleaning it how they told me too twice a day and avoiding what they told me to avoid, it now looks like my ring is going into the whole again my friends have had stuff go wrong with their piercings when they have gotten from them but i never payed attention because i have gotten my rook pierced and everything was fine but now its just going downhill. Btw have to take my tragus out now too and payed $50 dollars for nothing. Go to a tattoo place where they actually know what they are doing because this place does not read more
