    Curry puffs.
    Steven F.

I wanted so much to love Soybean, but it was all around average. I started with some curry puffs. They were supposedly chicken, but we're actually mostly potatoes and very bland. Really pretty though. Then I opted for red curry duck. The duck was fine, but the rest of the dish felt like it came out of cans. And there was a preponderance of pineapple chunks. Clean restaurant, brightly lit, only a few other tables on a Wednesday evening. Unfortunately, I'm unlikely to return.

Still a great choice for Thai- dine in or take out. I was here for lunch and their lunch specials are affordable with good size portions. Food tastes great and fresh and the service is friendly!

I was not that excited to come here but my dining partner wanted curry so we were checking it out. It had a nice vibe to it and the waitress was prompt and friendly. I wasn't that hungry so I went for the papaya salad. This decision had my dining partner change their order from curry to pad Thai. What?! We were there for her curry! She said the pad Thai would go better with the papaya salad. Ok. The food came and it was good. Really good. My non-curry ordering dining partner stated that it was the best papaya salad she's had in her life! Now coming from Hawaii where we can eat a lot of papaya salad, that's a huge statement. I asked her to clarify in case I misheard. My hearing is fine. If you like papaya salad you must try this place. (The pad Thai was good too!)

20 mins after to go order was done still waiting for someone in the restaurant to even come to the front. Had to go to the back and still waiting. Don't go. Horrible service they don't even care.

The lady up front was rude !!!!! I was picking up a Grubhub order and I had to go in twice to see if the order was ready, each time it wasn't ! The second time I went in the lady told me "YOUR ORDER IS NOT FUCKING READY !!!!!!" This restaurant is disgustingly rude I do not recommend!!!!

I sent in my masked husband into this restaurant for take-out food. I don't know when we last visited an Asian restaurant- about five years ago? Anyway, he ordered two shrimp pad Thai and wonton soups. We took everything home, and didn't need to heat it up. The wonton soup looked/tasted homemade. The shrimp pad Thai was also delicious. It transported well. I am glad my husband brought home a menu. We will come back to here soon.

Great find in Pike Creek Newark area! Amazing Thai food, got Chicken Satay to share and Pad Thai, Pad Phed, and Drunken Noodles entrees for dinner on a weeknight. Was pretty slow on the weeknight we went in, 1-2 other parties dining in around 7:30pm. Nice ambiance, spacious, quiet, and clean! Loved the food, and our server was so kind, joking around with us and offered to take a picture of our group! Very kind people, service was great. Be wary of the spice level! Thai spicy is pretty spicy, especially with the food being freshly cooked/hot as well, definitely need regular water refills! Also loved their Thai tea, a classic. Will definitely be back, glad we discovered this place!

My dad and I came here for lunch one day :) It was pretty empty since it was a weekday but we saw a bunch of people get take out orders. I got the Thai ice tea which was good but made with the wrong milk so it tasted alittle off. We ended up getting the lunch specials of pad Thai and pad see ew with shrimp. For appetizers we got the fried gyzo which was really good and the fried tofu (just okay alittle dry). The pad see ew was really good! Seasoning and noodles were perfect. I always wish for more shrimp but overall a good meal! Would come back again and try other food :)

But once you're inside, you realize this mother-and-daughter team is serving some of the most authentic Thai food you'll find anywhere in Delaware. We ordered a little bit of everything--starting with the satay and soup, both of which were warm, flavorful, and clearly homemade. The satay came perfectly grilled with a peanut sauce that could have been a meal on its own. The soup was the kind of comfort you don't expect to find unless someone's cooking for you at home. The Pad Thai and Pad Kee Mao were both outstanding, each with its own distinct balance of sweetness, spice, and texture. You could tell nothing came out of a jar--the flavors were bright, clean, and layered. The red curry, rich and aromatic, had that perfect slow-building heat that keeps you reaching for more jasmine rice. And speaking of rice--it was cooked just right, fragrant and fluffy, the quiet star that pulled everything together. What makes Bangkok House truly special isn't just the food, though. It's the feeling you get while you're there. The care that goes into each dish, the relaxed, no-frills setting, and the pride this family takes in their craft all come through in every bite. My daughter, who goes to college nearby, swears it's the most authentic Thai food in Delaware--and after this meal, I believe her. If you're anywhere near Newark, skip the big-name places and come here instead. It's a small spot with a big heart, and it's the kind of meal you'll still be thinking about long after you've left.

We were all starving :) My vegan friend was craving pho so she got the vegetable pho (we double checked that it is made with vegetarian stock since it did not say this on the menu and it was!). My other friend got this spicy chicken stir fry (forgot the name). I got my usual pad sew ew but subbed with shrimp. I also got a thai ice tea to go with my meal. The food came out fairly fast and we chowed down. The pad sew ew noodles had great flavor and cooked perfectly. It came with a lot of Chinese broccoli and carrots. The only disappointing thing is that I only got 4 shrimp :/ they were good but would have liked to see more especially since it costs $3 more to sub with shrimp. Either way the portions are a good size. My friends both enjoyed their meals immensely. We all had a good time hanging out and eating. The Thai ice tea was also very good :) Def. would come back and try some other dishes one day! A great place for lunch.

We enjoyed our main dishes -- Drunken Noodle (with beef) for him and Spicy House Noodles (with shrimp) for me. He said it's in his "top 2" best drunken noodles he's had. Everything was hot and perfectly seasoned; good portions. My friend had ordered a "sizzling" dish that did not come out sizzling, but he enjoyed it nonetheless; he and his wife had no other complaints. We all got dessert. For appetizers, we got the egg roll and chive pancakes. I would say to skip the egg roll. In my opinion, the wrapper was way too thick and hard rather than thin and crispy. The filling tasted just ok. Instead, I would get just the chive pancake. It's fragrant, herbaceous, light, and pleasantly chewy and bouncy. For my pad Thai entree with tofu, it was decent. The portion size is a little smaller than what I am typically used to from other Thai restaurants but I was still full. I got a 3/5 and it wasn't spicy to be. It was savory, had a strong fish sauce base, and good! I would get this if I was in the area but wouldn't go out of my way.
