My provider made me feel rushed, despite arriving 30 min early. I was charged for an additional service that I did NOT ask for. The front desk did not care to resolve / refund the extra charge. This spa experience and customer service was not worth the high price. Will not return. read more

I had booked my appointment at the salon for a special occasion style about a week before I arrived in Dallas for a wedding. The spa called the morning of and said the original provider was scheduled with was sick, but there was availability with another stylist at the same time. Not a problem! I checked in at the spa 30 minutes early and went to the relaxation lounge. I noticed everyone else for my time slot had been taken back for their services. I ended up waiting in the relaxation lounge for 50 minutes without seeing the stylist or getting any updates. I walked out to the front desk (the women at the front were very apologetic and kind) when I mentioned I still had not been taken back for my appointment. At this point, I just wanted it cancelled and for my card not to be charged. I was told the stylist would need an additional 15 minutes with the current customer he had meaning my appointment wouldn't have even started until over 35 minutes past the original scheduled time. I declined and said I needed to rush back to the hotel room to do my hair myself since I was not going to be seen. I was offered a free facial, which I was unable to use due to only being in town for the weekend and some free samples. Overall, while I appreciate the kindness of the front desk staff, I will not be returning to this establishment. I waited some time to write this review to calm down and try and be kind. I went for a special occasion and wanted something very special. (To assure a great experience I had had my good friend who is in the biz call the manager and she marked the services as a VIP. The day before I had also requested lunch (which most spas accommodate) Again,I had called the day before and morning to make sure this was something I could do and told they me that I could but that it would be room service, I said that was fine ..I was staying at the hotel that night) before I went into my services. I had over an hour break ...which I had booked specifically to have my lunch time on the outside patio. 20 minutes go by and no menu was brought after massage. I Knew that most services try and keep on a tight schedule so I unrobed had to put my street clothes back, leave the spa area and go back through the lobby of crowds or wedding group to grab me an over priced plastic container salad that was horrible and ran back to the spa for second service ....i almost walked out but took a breath and tried to relax. After this whole fiasco I complained to manager and told them what has transpired (the whole day was ruined ) after all this, she offered me a 20% discount to "come back" and try it ...I would never ever go back ...there are too many fab spas in Dallas The relaxation room is couples only (no woman's relaxation room and the nail services were like stepping back 20 years ago with filing and charging extra for stuff to remove calluses on your heels (doesn't all nail spas to that these days) The also added a huge tip on for their services ...I know that that is customary in spas but seriously with the service the manager gave me ....i could tell that it needs to have a complete redo on how to treat customers. Girls weekend with massages, facials and pedicures. While everything was ok it was not to the high standards I expected from the Adolphus. All staff were courteous. The little things make a difference for example there was no aromatherapy offered, no soft eye mask during both massage and facial offering no protection from the lights . The massage room was freezing and when asked to adjust they said the hotel dictates airflow but they did give us a warm compress. The nail salon looked really bare and dated. The only refreshments offered was water. While all these things may not seem a big deal but from someone who has visited many spas such as Broadmoor Loma De Vida, Camelback etc The Adolphus Spa could use a facelift and just a few special customer touches. read more

I booked the Spa Adolphus hair and makeup services for my rehearsal dinner look and was pretty disappointed overall. My hair took a couple of tries to get right even though I only asked for a simple half-up-half-down look. The false eyelashes were HORRIBLE - the white glue was visible and they started coming off as soon as I got back to my hotel room. They were not adhered to the correct part of my eye and I had to rip them off and call my girls to help me put them back on in time for my event. read more

I went to Spa Adolphus this week and had such a wonderful experience. I had done a bit of research in hotel spas in the area, and now wonder why they don't have better reviews on Yelp but do on TripAdvisor. While the Joule has a pool, the facilities and staff at Spa Adolphus were really just so great. Manny at the front desk was kind and attentive, and he showed me the locker, personal changing rooms equipped with showers and plush robes, and the relaxation room with patio access. My therapist was Jasmine, and she was the best! She accommodated my requests and it was such a relaxing massage, which did last the 80 minutes I booked. I was able to order lunch in the relaxation room since they weren't busy, and enjoyed my time in there. Will definitely return and highly recommend!! read more

What a wonderful experience at this spa! I met the new manager, Amy, and she welcomed me into this beautiful space. She introduced me to Melissa who was to be my masseuse. After a short time in the relaxation room, Melissa came for me and escorted me to one of the massage rooms. During our time together, I was kneaded, rubbed and massaged to total relaxation. She even managed to pop a few joints along the way ! Afterwards, I was escorted back to the relaxation room so I could slowly rejoin reality again. I had the most incredible brightening facial by Fox. I was greeted by the friendly staff to a light and airy atmosphere. The music was soft and calming. After changing into a warm and cozy robe, I was taken in a relaxing waiting area for Fox to pick me up. I was offered tea, water and Champagne. Fox greeted me with cheerful eyes over her facial mask. She guided me to her room and explained what was going to happen. The facial was 100% devilish. I felt so relaxed and was also treated to a arm massage while the mask was working it's magic on my face. The results are beyond my expectations. My face feels moisturized and bright. I visited the spa at the Adolphus today and received a Deep Cleansing Facial and the Signature Massage. Sydney did my facial and Reg did my massage. All of the staff members were very kind. The facial was nothing fancy, but I enjoyed that Sydney walked me through the benefits of each part of the facial. Overall, it was good ... but not worth the price tag. Same with the massage, I enjoyed it but it's just way overpriced. If I'm going to drop $500 on a facial and a massage I expect to be blown away. You can definitely go somewhere else and get the same if not better experience and pay a lot less. Let me first start off by saying the Adolphus is a lovely Hotel. The Spa is beautiful and smells beyond fabulous. If booking a facial please request Fox. She is a skilled tachnician and a true professional at her craft. Lovely experience with her. HOWEVER-The spa front office is a different story. I had booked several services for myself and my bestfriend that totaled well over a thousand dollars. My friend who I wanted to treat to a fabulous Spa Day Holiday this past Labor Day weekend. I spoke with Amy & Melissa. I called several times to confirm what time to be at the Spa and -they both told me arrive at 9:30. Your treatments will start at 10am. We each were to have a facial and massage and my friend was to have her makeup and hair done along with a pedicure. I was called at 10am to have my facial. I returned and my friend had not been called and had no services. She had been sitting in the relaxation room for an hour and half-when i spoke to the back staff technicians they were like I'm sorry its a very busy Holiday weekend and we overlooked your guest. Long story short my friend was upset, angry and all of our lunch and dinner reservations had to be changed. We notified the front desk who offered us a complimentary manicure. Truly an insult. Needless to say we cancelled the rest of my friends services and could not get out of there fast enough. Do yourself a favor-There are several wonderful Hotel Spas in Dallas that do it better-go there and get your moneys worth. The SPA ADOLPHUS failed to meet or exceed my expectations. read more

A very disappointing spa day. Let me say, that the staff was very pleasant and friendly, but the value was completely out of whack! A 50 minute therapeutic massage was only 35 minutes. I wasn't trying to time it, but it seemed short and i checked back on my phone. Massage was nice.....but not for the premium price. Followed the massage with a Botinol facial, with acupressure and scalp massage add ons. The entire treatment was less than 50 minutes. The add On's were maybe 2 minutes each. Complete waste of money. Facial itself was just ok. Don't feel the consultation was thorough, and my skin doesn't have that great "after facial" glow. I expect more for $550++.... Not only will you be stunned by the beautiful ambiance and layout of the Hotel, you will also be amazed by the exceptional quality they offer in their salon! My reception was warm and welcoming, however, it is the stylist Hutton who stole the show. Not only was she incredibly well mannered and friendly, but from the beginning she asked a lot of questions and provided direction for how we needed to cut my hair. Throughout the cut, she was warm, knowledgeable and provided great insight on ways to style and manage my hair. As someone who works in the private club industry, being well groomed is a staple. I can positively say I am much better groomed because of the care and attention I received from an absolute fabulous stylist! 10/10 Recommend to anyone looking to have their life absolutely changed! read more

This was a great spa if you're looking for something very private, small, boutique and a bit of a romantic flare. I would say this is perfect for couples. It is a much smaller day spa but fancy. When you walk in, there's a check in desk and a table in the middle with oils. I liked that. Had a little fun before checking in with the oils. This was a bit different than what I was used to because they lead you to the changing area which you could bring a significant other with you in there or go by yourself. There is no "womens" and "mens" locker area. It is also not a bathroom because the toilet is a separate room with a sink. This room had a changing area, with all the necessities for getting ready, robe, etc. And a shower. So you can shower with your significant other too. It was a peaceful room too, very comfortable set up. They then lead you to a relaxation area which was really cute. I love how bright it was ... a perfect amount of natural light coming from the balcony and inside. I wouldn't go with a girlfriend because the relaxation area is small and coed. There is no jacuzzi or sauna area. You literally have to go here to relax or be by yourself or with a significant other. The relaxation room is really nice and relaxing. I was really hungover and it was serene and peaceful. It was a Sunday and there weren't many people there. They had a nice tea set up and water. On the other side of the room they had nuts and snacks. There is an outside area to rest as well and I thought that was a nice touch. My massage was great that I fell asleep. Overall great experience! Highly recommend esp if you're not interested in amenities like the sauna, etc. The lack of a 5 star is for lack of amenities. I don't give five stars out easy and to me, a spa is 5 star is it has everything. And it would be nice to add a bit more privacy to the relaxation area or have someone come in every once in awhile to attend the place. This place is so new and under-the-radar that it isn't even yet mentioned on the Adolphus hotel website, but it is indeed open on the 7th floor! You just call the hotel and ask to be transferred to the spa to book an appointment. I happened upon the spa - doors wide open and ready to rock - on my way to the pool today. I stopped in and was welcomed right away by Gina at the front desk. They were able to book an appointment for me on the spot for a hot stone massage! I was whisked right away to a tour of the changing rooms - beautiful private rooms with their own showers and sinks. The spa, at 5,000 square feet, is not gigantic - but they figured out a great way to make it upscale and comfortable! I then chilled out and read a book in the relaxation room while awaiting my massage. The whole spa is decorated beautifully in neutral colors - soft grays and taupes abound, with calming light wood and marble textures throughout. Rhody, my massage therapist, was so friendly and welcoming. I planned and executed a wedding last night, and this impromptu massage was the perfect treat to relax and get ready for the week ahead. The service was extremely relaxing. Rhody made sure I felt so comfortable that I'm pretty sure I was asleep half the time (which is hard to do - wedding planners never sleep!). It was truly the best massage I've had in a very, very long time. The Adolphus is going through some major renovations, so plan to arrive a little early to valet and get situated. Update 11/26/18: Spa Adolphus invited me back for a 60 minute massage and my experience was much better. The service provider did leave the room for a moment after she started my massage, but maybe she forgot something? Anyways, the service was great and the spa itself is so nice. I love the relaxation room and the private shower/dressing rooms. Original Review 1 star: I had high hopes for the Spa at the Adolphus for a relaxing morning with my mother and mother-in-law. Unfortunately, I was more stressed when I left than when I arrived. Things started out great - facility is beautiful and clean and people were friendly. That changed when I was taken back for my 90 minute massage and put in a back treatment room where you have to walk through the salon (full of people) in your robe. No big deal until you're trying to relax and you can hear the clipping of fingernails and toenails while you're in the treatment room. The service provider later told me "we rarely use this room" ... great, glad I got the worst one. Then, once my treatment started, the service provider seemed like he was new to giving massages. It was choppy and awkward. Twice during my massage I could hear people (sounded like staff) in the waiting area outside of the treatment room - this was over the music that was playing in the room and the rain outside. Then, the WORST part, about 70% through the service, I was face down and someone opened the door and yelled "Hello?" Talk about disrupting. You're naked, half covered on the table, and the door is open. I don't know if it was the service provider that opened it or if it was someone else in the spa but it was awkward and ruined the experience. The front desk never asked how my service was when my mom and I checked out. So I brought it up and told them it wasn't acceptable and rather than ruining the day with my mom and mother-in-law, the woman at the front desk said she would have the manager call me. Well, it's been almost 4 days and no word from the manager. I hate to write a bad review because the Spa is gorgeous and has a ton of potential to be a great experience. I brought my mom here for Mother's Day and was unsure what type of review to give. If I wrote this review specifically for my mom, then it would be 5 stars. I am so happy my mom had Jen as her masseuse. My mom raved about how amazing Jen was the entire time and my mom is a hard women to please :). So I decided to write a review based upon my experience. The actual spa is decorated very pretty. I love the relaxation room, though there were a lot of people there this past weekend, so it was somewhat crowded. The patio is a great place to relax if the weather permits, though they need to provide towels for lounge chairs outside, because they are somewhat dirty. I was so happy they were able to place my mom and I into the same room for our massage. My masseuse never came off as friendly as Jen. The part that made me extremely disappointed, is because she massaged me with gloves on. I have never had a massage with gloves in my life. If she is allergic to the oil, or has a reason for why she has to wear gloves, you alert the paying customer AHEAD of time. Management, nor my masseuse should have thought this was okay. My entire massage (other than my neck area), just felt like someone was rubbing lotion over my body. I was extremely disappointed. She was also more in a rush than Jen was. She would finish certain parts of my body ahead of Jen and she seemed so uninterested in being there. The part that made me even more disappointed, is when I asked for the manager and the lady at the front said she would handle it. I told her about my experience and she gave me oils as an apology, but it is the same oils they give everyone for visiting the spa. I came here for a pedicure service. I loved my technician - she did a great job. They have a good selection of chemical free polishes. I will say, it was more of an upscale salon experience vs a spa experience. I was expecting the pedicure to be in a low-lit room, very quiet, with a partial neck/shoulder massage etc. The ambiance was different than expected - lights on and people coming in and out for hair appointments in the same room and having casual conversations. It did not disturb my experience, just different from what I anticipated for a spa pedicure. I did spend time in the relaxation room after the pedicure which was quite nice. Such high hopes to start, but felt very taken advantage of financially. We booked an 80 minute couples massage with two add on treatments of the face massage and scalp massage (listed online as 15 minute add ons). We noticed that our treatment felt short and that the time we ended was only 80 minutes after the start. We thought they accidentally booked us for a 50 minute massage, but upon checkout were charged for the 80 minute and the two add ons. After questioning them we were told that the "add ons" were worked in to the 80 minute massage NOT added to the treatment time. Very disappointing that we paid an extra $80 plus gratuity to have our face and scalp massages worked into the standard treatment. When booking this appointment originally I spoke with someone from the spa and they were very thorough with their information, but didn't mention at all that this is how the treatments would be billed. In the end I am very disappointed that we spent nearly $600 for a plain old 80 minute couples massage. No extra champagne, stone treatments, or facial services. read more

My friend and I did a girls' spa day with a massage, facial, manicure, and pedicure. I will address each item individually, but overall the level of service was fantastic. (5 stars) We arrived 2 hours early and were permitted to sit by the pool. In between our services, we were escorted back out to the pool to have lunch and relax. Further, when the service that was booked was not what I had requested previously, the adjustment was immediately made with no issues. The changing rooms were amazing, and the cleanliness was the best I had ever seen. I requested a lighter-weight robe 5 minutes after changing, was taken back to my original changing room, and it had already been restocked and tidied. My massage was excellent. (5 stars) Jen really knew what she was doing and even recommended that I do some things in my own time to alleviate the pain. Also, the sheets used on the massage beds are amazingly soft. It was one of the best massages I have ever had. My facial was not great. (2 stars) The steam function wasn't working on the equipment. Then, even after I explained to my aesthetician that I have very sensitive skin, she proceeded to be very harsh when extracting. She caused my chin to bleed and scab. Further, I explained to her that if she just left the bump on my forehead alone, it would go away. She didn't, and because she couldn't get it to cooperate, I now have a giant red bump on my forehead. I will not get a facial here again. Manicure/pedicure was mediocre, nothing special. (3 stars) If you're staying at the hotel and you need the service done, it's fine. Certainly worth not having to leave the hotel to get the service done elsewhere. However, being a local, I won't be going out of my way to get my nails done there again. read more

Was home visiting for my birthday so my sister and I had a spa day here. The spa is well done considering the smaller space they had to work with. You won't find a sauna or steam room here, but it is very clean. There were individual changing rooms and showers. As for the massage...I chose the 90 minute Signature massage, which was the best massage I have ever had. I have had my fair share of massages (even had my sister practice on me when she had her own practice), and I have to say Jen did an amazing job. It was therapeutic while also relaxing. The hot stones on the calves and feet was a nice touch. When I'm back in town and in need of pampering, this is my new go to. And I will definitely request Jen! read more

I had a wonderful massage with Jen who is fantastic but once again on my 2nd visit the changing room and hallways were freezing. When I complained the explanation was that the hotel controlled the thermostats and there was nothing they could do. It is totally unacceptable to have clients change into robes when the temperature is so cold and think it is ok to just give such a ridiculous response.
