It feels like an oasis even if you go on your lunch hour. Relaxing music, dark lit rooms, and great aromatherapy. Thankfully this place had an available appointment within 24 hours which was awesome as I could barely move my neck. My lady was great at focusing on the neck area and I felt so much better afterwards. Was super relaxing and a great first massage experience for sure. Do not get your Botox done here. Not sure about their other services. The person I always used to go to before I came to Hiatus (once) was fantastic and cost about ~300 until she moved. I came to Hiatus, only got injections in my forehead, and it cost around 600-700 dollars. Thought this had to be life changing Botox for it to cost this much. Less than two months later, my forehead looks the exact same as it did before I got the Botox. I started noticing it wasn't going to last about a month ago--called and asked if I could get a touch up and they basically said it was going to cost half the price of the original fee (which is what I used to pay in total with my previous esthetician). I will never come back here and I implore others to do the same. read more

My girl coworkers and I came here for a spa day and it was everything and more. We each had a customized facial, full body massage, and mani-pedi. The services provided by the esthetician, massage therapist, and stylist were all top notch. The facility is extremely clean and provides an atmosphere of relaxation that can't be beat. You can sit down in the small lounge, robe, slippers and all, and enjoy their warm tea and water while waiting before your appointment, and between appointments. This rating is an average of the three services I received with the Happy, Happier, Happiest package. When I was escorted to the locker room, I noticed how calming everything was. A lot of attention to detail. There are lockers for your belongings and they have robes and sandals for guests. After I changed into a robe, I went to the waiting area which was very spacious and relaxing. My massage therapist arrived quickly and did an excellent job. I had a lot of knots and he worked them all out but it wasn't painful or anything. (4 stars) The facial was next and Monica was an absolute delight! She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and skilled. My experience was so relaxing and pleasant. I highly recommend her. (5 stars) I finished with the one and only mani/pedi. The room is small with a few zero gravity chairs. To begin, a bowl of water was used to rinse my feet and I was provided an eye mask. The entire mani/pedi took 2.5 hours. I mistakenly believed the duration was due to other relaxing things that took the time, like a leg/foot or hand massage, hot stones, paraffin wax, etc. None of that occurred. I learned the process takes so long because they use 8 different coats of polish: 2 base, 4 color, 2 top coats. The pedicure looks decent but it was definitely the worst manicure I've ever received. My nails were filed so short, it burned my fingers. Every single nail has bubbles on the polish, except for one. I noticed there was a dent on one of my nails where something hit it before it dried - I noticed this before I got up from the chair but I honestly was so ready to go bc I was extremely underwhelmed with the whole process, so I didn't mention it. I wish I had read that you can request an express service and have the whole thing finished in a fraction of the time. Very unpleasant, would not recommend. Especially bc it's essentially a basic mani/pedi and I can get better results just doing it at home. (0.5 stars) read more

My partner and I are both LMTs. We receive massages almost weekly, sometimes trading professionals. All over DFW, even when we travel over seas and domestically. We absolutely believe in the healing power of massage. Unfortunately, this spa disappointed us to a new low level. We had a couples massage with a prenatal massage. My partners male massage therapist had such fowl smelling breath and talked through the massage, which he didn't mind, if he had practiced some hygiene. My female massage therapist was petting me, using the lightest pressure possible. It felt so wrong to me. I asked twice for more pressure and she said that was what she could do. It was terrible. Felt like a waste of time and money. It felt like a scam. If you give people a robe and a shower, a cup of tea and water while they wait. Then give the worst massages ever and charge $305 as a base fee. I was shocked. It feels like a bad practice. We came here on the recommendation from a friend. She had been to one in Austin and had a great time. Maybe they're not all bad. But this one, with our 2 massage therapists, was really bad. Don't go here! read more

Ugh I knew this was going to be a lackluster experience before I even arrived. I was looking forward to bringing my whole family (4 people total) here for a spa day and had booked everybody's services under my account but under their names. Even that was a hassle because they only had 3 estheticians and only some could do certain services, so there was quite a bit of back and forth trying to create a feasible schedule. Two days before our spa day, I received a call from a receptionist to confirm the details. He was requesting details like who would have what service - details I already provided upfront when I booked online and details I could even see from my account. I received another call 10 minutes later from a different receptionist and she asked whether her colleague had just called me...she wanted to confirm the exact same details even though I told her AGAIN that I had already provided this information and that if they needed anything, I would take care of it day of. Arriving at the spa, my family had to re-complete waivers for their services - this is partially our fault since my family had filled out massage waivers when we were getting facials. However, it would have made more sense for them to have received the necessary waiver via email instead of having them dig around online for the right one. We were asked AGAIN who was getting what service and needed to confirm a lot of the same details we had already provided. The actual services were lovely though and I have only glowing praise for the estheticians because they were highly professional and the whole family looked radiantly refreshed afterward. The checkout process tainted my good mood though because I was asked yet again what services we were paying for. I spent about $1K that day and had embarrassingly terrible customer service - embarrassed for Hiatus and for my family who I was trying to treat to a nice day. This place does not feel like a luxury experience and I would not recommend anyone coming here unless you have saintly patience and really want to try it out... read more

As a plus size woman, I always feel nervous in a new spa environment regarding robes and the experience. In addition to the aromas of organic lavender and ylang ylang, there is a distinct essence of IDGAF in the the air here. For the 10 or so services I've booked at Hiatus over the course of 4 months for my wife and I as an "H-Circle Member", about 4 of them have resulted in same-day cancellations - some so last-minute that I was parking when the voicemail came in. The staff and management put on their fake smiles and say "I totally understand your frustration, but we've rebooked you with _______". When you explain that you actually booked the original therapist on purpose, they say "Oh, in that case we'd be happy to get you rescheduled". Hiatus has a 24-hour cancellation policy, but it only applies if you're a customer. If you really press, they will begrudgingly offer you a discount or complimentary service for the inconvenience, but it takes some effort and that is certainly not their go-to move. Their best therapists book out for at least a month generally, so it's not like you can just come back tomorrow or next week for your preferred provider, and if you mention the lack of respect for your time, they'll be sure to extend their sincerest "sorry you feel that way" platitudes. Sadly, I came to this Inwood location after some similar booking mixups at the other Dallas Hill location. While the spa here is larger and a bit nicer, the management and staff are the same, so this seems like a much larger problem with the Hiatus brand itself. The therapists have been from average to excellent, with most falling into the "very good" category. I enjoyed my massage from Laura, and had 3 more massages on the books with Sasha who I also liked a lot, but I hit my limit with the lack of customer service, and when I'm done... I'm DONE. The services and quality of the spa aren't anywhere close to good enough to keep up with their attitude, so on that note, I cancelled everything and am taking a real hiatus from this place. They are the best providers there. I can't remember the name of the person who did my body wrap, but it was divine. Skip the mani/pedi - it's not worth it and you'll be pissed that you need to go home and fix the subpar work of the nail tech. Full-length review: The Good: I've been going to Hiatus since I moved to Dallas a year ago. I really like it - it's a simple, relatively inexpensive spa for monthly maintenance, especially if you're an H-Circle Member. The facials and massages are good and I appreciate the Aveda tea they always have in the quiet room. The Tolerable...they are ALWAYS trying to upsell you services and products and sometimes the sales pitch can be be aggressive. And, they talk too much during the services instead of giving you the space to enjoy quiet time. The Ugly: The massages are mostly misses. The best thing about getting a Hiatus mani/pedi is the zero gravity massage chairs. Everything else is downhill - let me list the ways: 1. I'm only offered an adult beverage if someone else is in the treatment room. Otherwise, I get nothing. 2. I'm always told the massage will be at the end of the service. I usually fall asleep during the mani/pedi, but wake up within the last 10 minutes. The tech usually thinks I'm still asleep and will walk behind me, press on my shoulders and tell me that she finished the massage - a shoulder massage that she never gave me. 3. The receptionists are pretty friendly. They are super sweet and gave me TEA! The tea is so good! Its different than I ever tasted. This is my first time here. I was given a tour of the place. The locker room can be small but it does have everything you need. I was given slippers and a brief introduction. After the mini tour, I grabbed a robe was extremely soft and changed. I sat out in the relaxation room and enjoyed myself with more tea. Its pretty relaxing because its dimmed and there is relaxation music playing in the background. I was greeted by therapist. The product that was used on my feet smell AMAZING and felt good. It kind of smells like bubble gum but it was vegan pomegranate agave. The massage bed is nice because it can be heated. I started prone and was extremely relaxed. I enjoyed and LOVE my massage done by Melissa!!! It was a wonderful experience. After I was done, I was able to relax if needed. I recently attended the Hiatus 10th-anniversary celebrations, where we were treated to complimentary bubbly, wine, treats, and mini spa treatments. Although the treatments were complimentary, Hiatus is my Fave day spa in Dallas and I was so happy to be able to sample some treatments I have never had at their location before. As usual, service was impeccable. My faves of the mini-treatments, the reflexology foot rub that I was told you can do as an add-on with your massages or pedicures. Anna was my technician and she was amazing. I had happy feet after that reflexology foot rub - both firm and soothing at the same time! My second fave was this Wow-Brow! What is it you ask? Well, there is a tiny handheld device, they rub some stuff on your brow area and apply the device with a minor pressure in a few spots along your brow. All I know is when I looked in the mirror after she was done (about 10 minutes) the area above/around my brow line looked smooth and soft (wrinkle smoother)! The technician also cleaned up my eyebrows (they can wax or tweeze) so they looked incredible. I also had a hand massage with Toby. He did this "stretch" with my arms that felt so good, that when I said I wished I could get my back stretched like that, he obliged. I am definitely scheduling a full-service massage with Toby soon! She's so kind, knowledgeable, and always sends me home with "homework" of books and videos to check out regarding what we've discussed. Adore her! I also got my mom a massage and I for the life of me cannot remember her masseuse's name but she raved about how amazing he was as well. Bella at the Hill location has also been so great to work with for injectables in making appointments easy and answering all my questions, as she's super knowledgeable and friendly too. I was gifted a massage & a facial as a wedding gift. The massage was not relaxing as the masseuse talked throughout it & the pressure wasn't strong enough(I didn't pay the $20 up charge for firm pressure because that policy is crazy to me. I've never had to pay for firm pressure at another spa and can NOT believe that's a policy here). It felt like I was having lotion rubbed on me for an hour. The facial was chaotic & also not relaxing. It felt like my face was being slapped with how quickly the technician was rubbing my face. The products had an unpleasant scent. When I left my face felt so greasy & I had product pilling/balling up all over my face, chest, & hair. I'm now breaking out from the greasy products even after washing them off once I got home. The extractions were the most painful I've ever had in my life. Any tension that was worked out of my back during my massage quickly returned during the facial because the extractions were so painful & the rubbing was so jarring. I am quite thankful I did not pay for these services & hope my friends don't ask me how it went because I'll have to tell them the truth. I did leave a tip but only because I felt I needed to do so. It's such a shame because lots of people recommend this place but my services were the worst I've received at any spa. I will seek out services at other spas as a result. read more

When you walk in you are immediately greeted and the place is very clean, some of the staff was nice the others seemed a little annoyed that they had to do their job. The reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because of the price and the massage itself. My massage therapist was very nice but I don't feel like she listened to what I wanted. I asked her to focus more on my back/shoulders since that is where I have the most issues. She did not do that, it was very disappointing because that was the whole reason I got a massage was to try to help those areas. Also, $165 for a 90 minute massage is very steep, there's nothing about the massage or what they do that makes the money worth it.
