Damn,Damn,Damn....my Good Times fans will get the reference. I've been going to the Sanford House for several years and have always enjoyed the experience. However, I must say this time was not my favorite. Let's start with the good. Robin, the esthetician, was amazing! I loved my massage and facial and all of the staff I encountered were professional and extremely nice. The opportunities... Lunch was mediocre. As the unseasoned chicken salad sandwich was a poor substitute for the crab cakes that I normally select. The other options did not seem appealing. I'd share them with you, but they were not memorable. The desert was decent, but not as good as the bread pudding, which again was taken off the menu. The manicure and pedicure were sub par, with the polish chipping off beginning the next day...two days later almost totally gone. My skin did not feel soft afterwards, and it became apparent that my heels were neglected during the process. Additionally, I was charged $22 extra for white polish on the tips of my real nails(French), which as stated, peeled off. I don't mind paying for a quality service, but this ain't it-- Especially since I don't do hard work to justify the excessive peeling. One of the nail technicians mentioned that she had been out sick for several months. I found it concerning that she continued to cough excessively, at times she did not cover her mouth, and did not wear a mask. Despite being fully-vaccinated, this made me uncomfortable. Full disclosure, I don't know what caused her to be out sick for several months, but in a COVID-19 environment, she should have been cognizant of her behavior. I'd come back for a massage and facial, but will skip the total spa package in the future. read more

I received " An offer you can't refuse" package for my birthday and was finally able to use it yesterday. I had a wonderful experience and definitely plan to return in the future. My package included a massage, body scrub, facial , manicure and pedicure. Claudia did my massage and was an absolute joy! She has great energy and immediately put me at ease as I realized I hadn't had a massage since gaining a significant amount of weight. She also did my body scrub after the massage but I would've preferred it before to have the moisture from the oils. Regardless, my skin felt great! After my shower to clean the body scrub, I waited in the relaxation room where tea, coffee, water and a cheeseboard was complimentary. I had my facial with Robin and it was so relaxing that I fell asleep and sounded like a freight train! I also got compliments on my skin hours after leaving the spa. Last, I had a mani/pedi with Serena. Serena was extremely informative with what to expect with the process. I love how she shaped my nails and how soft the soles of my feet still feel! Overall, I had a great experience but as previously stated, I think I would've preferred the body scrub before my massage. Also, my pedicure didn't turn out as nice as I'd like it but Serena gave 2 offers to make it right. If you want a real spa experience, I'd highly suggest Sanford Spa and the aforementioned women. read more

I had amazing customer service from the ladies at the desk at the Spa yesterday. I received a massage from a masseuse Rhonda. She did a great job. She worked on my hurt spots and when I left I felt amazing. It was very refreshing and peaceful. I will be definitively going back and setting up a girls day here. We came to Restaurant 506, part of the Sanford House Inn & Spa, for Sunday brunch. My friend has been here several times for a variety of meals so I was very excited to try it. We had reservations, but were a little early, but our table was ready. Our server was fantastic; very friendly and attentive. I love the atmosphere of this old house-turned-inn and restaurant. It's very grand and cozy at the same time. I have to mention that the brand of tea they use is Harney & Sons, which is one of my favorites, so that was great. They bring you mini carrot cake muffins to start, and they were delicious. Before our food came, the grand hostess/owner came over to see how we were doing. She was very friendly and it was a nice touch to have her come over to our table. We both ordered the Creole biscuits and gravy (my friend has had them before) and they were VERY good. They have a great drinks menu for brunch, and there were multiple things on their food menu that I wanted to try, so I'll be coming back! read more

I was looking for anything to help with my shoulder pain and decreased range of motion- that did not include surgery or pain medication. Sanford Spa was my last hope. I was scheduled for a massage with Rhonda Veal. I was terrified this would hurt or make my shoulder worse. I went in expecting no change, but hoped for improvement and left with shoulder relief. That day I left the Spa with less pain and more range of motion. Several months later I have almost full range of motion and no pain. Rhonda really improved my quality of life. Can I just say I loved this place. Like looooooved this place :) We came to see GnR at Cowboy Stadium (nearby) and decided to just make it a romantic getaway. I found Sanford on trip advisor and was so happy I did. We booked the Riviera Cottage and got a beautiful HUGE room (really dining, living, bed and bathroom). I seriously think it was bigger than my first apartment. It was well decorated, clean, stocked and quiet (even being by a busy street). Plus it had the added benefit of having its own parking out front and gated access. We used their shuttle service (Van was friendly and wonderful), ate their fantastic full breakfast and drank in their cozy bar - oh and got massages at the spa! It was fabulous all around. This is a review for the hotel. This is a wonderful facility in Arlington and near the AT&T stadium. The ground is perfect. Gorgeous landscape and during the holiday period, the decorations are superb. The location is somewhat shaky when you walk toward the stadium. We booked one of the villas and the space is huge. I rarely give 5 stars but this place deserves it. From making reservations to the decor/service/food this place is amazing...hidden in the middle of an Arlington neighborhood. We had a party of 6 on a Sunday morning for brunch. We were greeted promptly and the table was already setup. The restaurant was busy, But not noisy. The food was great from the coffee to the mimosas everything tasted great. The menu isn't the typical breakfast menu it's unique. This little hotel is tucked into Arlington and I had never heard of it. It is a gem!! The people who work there are precious! Everyone greeted us with a smile and asked how our day was going. They helped us with our bags and one gal even brought our lunch across the street to the spa. We enjoyed our time at their spa and had a lovely dinner afterwards at their cute little restaurant that's in the house. We got pedicures, facials and massages. The house is decorated with antiques of all kinds. The only drawback was no elevator when time came to drag our multitude of bags down the stairs. We will stay here again! The made-to-order breakfasts were incredible! My wife and I were the only guests on our first night and the chef offered to cook "whatever we wanted". We thoroughly enjoyed omelets with spinach and white cheddar cheese. I also had potatoes and fresh fruit (the "good" ones, not just melon and grapes). For our second breakfast (alas, a handful of guests had checked in) we were given a menu with three choices. My wife had French toast, bacon and fruit; I had pancakes, sausage and fruit. Both choices were excellent. The coffee brand was Douwe Egberts, a new flavor for us. It was as enjoyable as the meal. Breakfast was a five star experience. Everyone at the Sanford was friendly and helpful. As described by other Yelpers, the grounds were beautiful and the rooms nicely furnished. We stayed in the Brahm's room. The only drawback (one star deduction) was a plumbing noise from the adjacent room. We did not notice it during our first night when we were the only guests. read more

I've never stayed at the inn, but I have gone to Restaurant 506 a couple times for brunch. The service is always fast and polite. Normally the food is hot, fresh, and flavorful. This last visit wasn't the best. The biscuits and gravy were dry and the crab cake benedict was disappointing.... to be polite. The crab cake wasn't fresh, seemed to be frozen maybe. The hollandaise sauce was so thin and flavorless and the spinach had no seasoning to it. Maybe it was an off day for them, so I'll go back to try them again! read more

Restaurant Week allowed two friends and I to check this place out. Even though I've lived in Arlington for almost two decades and even attended UTA, this place as always alluded me and my eyes so I was glad to hear about it. If you're going down Center (one-way), it is on the right side but there is limited parking. So you may want to look for parking in the bigger lot across the street. When we stepped inside, we were greeted and seated quickly and warmly. The place itself is small and quaint. We were seated in the front section so I didn't have a chance to check out the rest of the place. From the set menu of RW, I ordered the following: appetizer - corn & crab chowder, entree - New York strip with mashed potatoes & ragout, and dessert - mango panna cotta. We got a pre-appetizer (scallop) which was decent. The chowder stole the show for me. From being poured by our waiter (sorry, man) to taste, it was really good, not too salty or bland. Then we got small scoop of sangria to clear our palettes before our meal. The steak was decent. I ordered it medium rare and it came out more rare but luckily, I like rare. I am a potato fanatic so the mashed potatoes were delicious and the ragout (like a meat sauce) was pretty flavorful. The dessert reminded me of a fruity flan with a raspberry sauce that balanced pretty well. Overall, good food and slow but friendly service. read more

Because the Ritz Carlton is so cliche and over done, your wedding has to be one of a kind. If you're not looking to get a Dallas glitzy venue, then turn your eyes to the pleasant Sanford House. It's great space to fit about 120 or more people for a great outdoor wedding. As a photographer, I had the chance to see this very humble space transform into a gorgeous wedding. What I learned about this venue is that the Sanford House is actually a bed and breakfast kind of place. They have a main space that has a restaurant and a courtyard where you can hold events outdoors. However, they have small cottage homes adjacent to the main house where guests can stay in. Across the road, you will find the Spa but that's also where the majority of parking is. I don't know anything about the Spa but that's where my client and her bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done. I really want to give 5 stars to the staff that worked the day of the wedding I photographed. Not only did we witness their amazing customer service but their very optimistic disposition. I know that they were concerned about running behind schedule but regardless the coordinator and the staff pushed through trying to get faster. They even made sure to give the right dishes to the guests who asked for vegetarian plates. And what is really nice is that they had extra plates left over and kindly offered 2 plates for me and my second photographer. Working 10 hours straight - we both were running on empty. The dinner tasted great and we really needed the nourishment. I don't know about prices for the actual use of the venue but I know they do charge for tents if you're looking to have one or if the weather gets unpredictable. We went there for Easter Brunch and the service and food was fabulous. The only problem was that when I gave them my name and there was a reservation for 7...they said they did not have the reservation!! It was my husband and I with 5 out of town guests....so I was about to be a very dissatisfied customer. However this nice lady (prob manager) stepped in and accommodated us. We were able to order either a fish, (salmon), chicken, and I think beef. Anyway....everyone was very very pleased with appetizers, main dish, and dessert. I thought the price per person was also great....about $45! Of course, we also had champagne and mimosa's. I would definitely go there again for brunch or a very nice dinner. This place is magical! Friends and I enjoyed the fabulous brunch before heading over to the spa. The restaurant is across the street at the Inn. Mimosa was decent...they even bring mini muffins to the table. We crushed them in record time after timidly tasting. No pic...again...we were crushing them. My crab Benedict was EVERYTHING!! My friends stacked pancakes were delicious too...I had to try it. I really wish I could pick the spa up and take it back to the DMV (DC area) with me. Margo worked her fingers until I fell asleep and she actually kept going in spite of the strange, snore like (b/c I don't snore) sounds bouncing off the walls and countering with the ocean wave vibe. It was AMAZING! Best massage EVER...like in life...seriously! My 2 friends received facials from Jennifer. Here me when I say it legit took us 45 minutes to get our lives together and get dressed.
