    Mineral saltwater pool
    Jeanette H.

I highly recommend this spa located at newly-renovated Grand Hyatt Scottsdale. It offers spacious, smartly designed spaces for just about everything you need. You can purchase a day pass to enjoy the facilities as long as your time allows or better yet, you can book a treatment and be able to access the same amenities that way as well. There is a "garden" area for jacuzzi and cold plunge, with outdoor showers. This garden then leads to a beautifully relaxing co-ed mineral/saltwater pool. You can get lunch/beverage service generally between 11-4p. Staff are exceptional in every way. Lunch menu is great, with quality ingredients and produce. I'd definitely come back here for more R&R!

Lovedddd this place! I have pretty high standards for spa's- seeing as how expensive they are and this place hit all my marks. Private spa pool, amazing showers/vanity areas, wonderful and kind staff, private hot tubs & cold plunges, sauna and steam rooms, etc. Our massages were amazing, the heated tables really take it up a notch. I will absolutely be returning next time I'm in Scottsdale!

We started off our long weekend in AZ with a couples massage and some time to use the spa amenities. My only regret is that we should have done this AFTER we did a ton of hiking...but, all good. The facilities are really nice. I found the "pre massage waiting area" very relaxing and enjoyed the cup of tea I made myself to accompany the snacks they had out. The massage itself was an hour but it went by in what felt like 20 minutes. Very relaxing, just the right amount of pressure. After the massage I made use of the hot tub and plunge pool, and then we spent some time by the mineral pool and ordered drinks and lunch. Good food, not exorbitantly priced, came out quickly. I ended the experience with a shower with no less than 8 different shower heads, all with great pressure. My absolute favorite part of the whole day. All in was $580, which included both massages, food, drinks, and tips. Not inexpensive by any means, but I would definitley come back.

Kami at the pool is exceptional! Such positive energy and always checking in on us if we need anything from water to food. Each staff member is so kind but Kami really adds to the quality of the team!

We had a lovely afternoon at Spa Avania. The spa is located at the Hyatt in Gainey Ranch. They have a free self-parking lot. The spa is a little dated, but they make up for that with their service. We purchased the massage deal on Groupon for $165 each. We were able to opt in for the couples suite with no up charge, which is always a plus. Our masseuses did a fantastic job with our 60 minute Swedish massages. Dawn was definitely a skilled masseuse and removed all the tension in my shoulders. The pool area was crowded, but Kami did an awesome job with regulating our drink & food requests. We ended up splitting the chicken pesto panini. After that we decided to order some more food. I had the shrimp tacos & Fiance' had the burger. Both were tasty! We had a fantastic time at Spa Avania. My only critique would be the women's hot tub needs a good cleaning. I didn't take a dip in there for that very reason. It could be an old tub that needs resurfacing. However, the cold plunge, steam room & other amenities were clean & working just fine.

We came in for for a salt room treatment, massage and to enjoy their spa. Enjoy we did! Super chill, eucalyptus smells help with relaxation. Very nice facilities, great cold plunge and hot tub. The pool is incredible with palms all around and pine trees as well, super duper chill. The salt room was very relaxing and the massage even better. I will def be back.

What a wonderful spa! Came in for a girls spa day and it was the best day. The property is beautiful and the staff is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend booking a massage or facial- you will leave rejuvenated with all of your stress melted away. We came in a few hours before our appointments to enjoy all of the amenities. The hot tub is great, not huge but it wasn't crowded at all on a weekday. The sauna and steam room are also good, very effective. It's nice that you don't have to share with hotel guests. Looking forward to coming back soon.

The place is nice and hidden. It didn't feel like we were in AZ anymore. It was a great experience. They have all the spa treatments you can think of! They have all these outside cold plunge, hot tub, outdoor showers, a pond, pool, and pool hang out area. Inside they have a steam room, hot spa pool, dry hot room, etc. They have snacks like cookies, nuts, and then some drinks. I got a message and it was amazing.

From the moment my Mom and I arrived, everyone made us feel welcomed. They take Covid seriously and all staff is required to be vaccinated. They also require masks inside at all times. McCall gave us a tour of the facility and when I tell you they've thought of everything you might need during your stay, I'm not kidding. Bags for wet bathing suit, sun screen, hair bands, razors, tooth brush, q-tips - the list goes on. We enjoyed the mineral pool alllllll day (8:30-6) and this is included in the cost of our services. Even the room you wait for your service in has the best view & snacks: nuts & delicious cookies. We both had facials which were lovely and so overdue after the pandemic. They were $150 with a $30 resident discount but they charge an automatic 20% tip based on the original price. Just a heads up. Lunch was enjoyed poolside and served by an amazing guy named Kami who might be the worlds most polite and well trained server. We ordered the chips & dip, salad with salmon and a chicken panini sandwich. Everything but the panini was terrific. Pretty sure they forgot 75% of the chicken and it lacked all flavor which was a bummer. Despite the lunch hiccup, we're going to make this an annual Mother's Day treat.

This was a BIG leap of faith for us, as we have our favorite spa in town and this one did not disappoint. We booked through Resort Pass for $99 to get access to the spa - this is a great way to avoid their hefty spa fees, but all you get is amenities. It's a GORGEOUS property and the amount of amenities included are quite amazing: Mineral Pool (not heated), Cold Plunge, Hot Tub, Dry and Wet Saunas (light therapy inside the wet sauna) and plenty of lounging space indoor and outdoor, although limited lounging space around the pool. The staff were all VERY friendly and so nice. However, we went on a Saturday with a rather large bachelorette party that ordered several champagne bottles and (1) kinda ruined the atmosphere of the mineral pool/outdoor lounge area with their screaming - I even got splashed in the face by one of the girls and (2) they made an absolute MESS of the locker rooms. The poor staff was definitely overwhelmed cleaning up after them with the towel bins overflowed. I am not discouraging huge parties, I think it's a great atmosphere for it, but just something to be mindful of. I also felt that the staff could have possibly limited them as they were already getting rowdy after they ripped through their first 2 bottles! The food was delicious! My husband had the shrimp tacos and I had the shrimp ceviche which was bomb and a great portion - bonus if you're doing low-carb, just omit the chips and it's a decent lunch! My husband has a big appetite, so shrimp tacos were NOT enough and we got the garlic hummus. Personally, the garlic hummus wasn't worth the price they put the hummus in one of those plastic sauce cups (the larger kind) and was barely enough for the amount they charge (see our photos) I also felt maybe there wasn't enough staff to clean-up. At the beginning of the day, they were already out of towels by the pool and several lounge chairs had towels on them from guests that never came back - so no one was sure what loungers were still open. Also around 1pm when we were ready to order lunch, the staff were all busy or sometimes nowhere to be found, so just keep that in mind when ordering your lunch! There are also only 3 indoor showers, so when I went to shower off, at the end of the day, to go to dinner, they were all taken. The outdoor showers would have been fine, if it weren't raining by this time. The women's locker room does include shampoo, conditioner, body wash and in the bathroom they have hairdryers, razors, mouth wash, laundry bags and more. For these experiences, I always recommend going during the week, if your schedule allows as this will be the least busy time. Overall, it's a FANTASTIC spa and I can't get over how many amenities they include! We will definitely be back!

Overall a good massage but I had to ask her twice to decrease the pressure and she also didn't put an eye mask on me when I flipped onto my back, which was awkward. It was also freezing in the room and although she said she put it on warm, it never warmed up. I was ok on the warm table, but when I got up afterwards, it was still as freezing as when I got in. They recently did a renovation and the women's shower area is really nice with big individual frosted glass showers with a dry area in front of the shower so that your things don't get wet. Prior to our massages, we enjoyed the co-ed pool area which is for spa guests only, 18+. This was a relaxing area with several water features with different pressures that you could stand under. They also had two small pools to the left which was a cold plunge and a hot plunge (no jets). The views of the mountains were so relaxing and the waiter Daniel was highly available for you to order food and drinks if wanted. Then I went to the women's only area to shower. They offer the most amazing smelling salt scrub (complementary) that makes your skin so soft. Don't forget to grab a bowl! The attendants in the women's area were so helpful. In this area was also a steam room, sauna and an area to dump a bucket of cold water on yourself. They also had 3 heated beds that you can lay on for 10 minutes before your treatment. After the massage, you go in a co-ed sanctuary and lay on a bed with a weighted blanket with noise canceling headphones for 25 minutes. This bed also vibrates to the sounds you choose. One side of my headphones wasn't working unfortunately. After, this led into a co-ed lounge. The hot water maker was already put away (at 5:06pm when they close at 6pm) so I couldn't make myself a cup of tea afterwards - especially when I still felt freezing, which was really disappointing. I expected more for $295 - better snacks and tea available until closing time. I don't think that is a lot to ask for. With so many spas in the area, if ever back in Scottsdale, we don't plan to return.

So today we booked it as part of a birthday and Mother's Day weekend celebration. When our technician called out, staff member Madison called us at 9:02 AM and offered to upgrade my pedicure into a massage at no extra charge since our technician called in sick. I told her my husband won't go to the pedicure alone and asked how much do we need to pay for him if we also upgrade his service into a massage? Madison proceeded to place me on hold and came back and said don't worry about the upgrade for Mr. Fish and I got immediately excited and so happy and thanked her , told her will be there by 10 AM.. Upon arrival, we were handed a bill for $635 a Kimberly checked us in. I said I spoke to a Madison and she was next to her and confirmed to Kimberly at the front that our price was $240 total based on our earlier conversation She even told me Kimberly that we are getting upgraded to 2 Artisan massages. We went ahead with our massages trusting it was resolved. We had the best time and enjoyed as normal and ended up leaving around 4PM. At checkout, my husband went downstairs and Madison is now presenting him with the $635 bill!!! Of course like anyone in his position he would be shocked! Like what?!!!! He felt like he was having an out of body experience!! Madison's explanation, and I quote " I misspoke"claimed she misspoke and gave my husband the $635 bill telling my husband that her manager Jed told her while we were getting our massages that what she was told by her manager Jed that they can longer provide what was promised to me on the phone and at checkout. This was going while I was still upstairs, and saw my husband upset. I asked what's going on and he said don't worry about it I will handle this, he said it's your birthday and I am not letting them spoil your day . When confronted, Madison denied ever offering the upgrade in front of her manager when my husband said that's what she said. My husband did not even want me in this conversation because it was birthday/Mother's Day weekend and he did not want to spoil my day.. . What was meant to be a special weekend turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience. We loved the massages but left feeling disappointed by Madison. I have to say Madison has been so pleasant and super friendly every time we were there, to get this treatment from her, this really hurt me especially on my day and so unexpected. The manager Jed in my opinion did not handle this right. He should have asked Kimberly listened to the call that was made. I don't know but this was handled very poorly in my opinion. Madison had so many chances to make this right but chose not to. What was offered in good faith was taken back without accountability. We hope management reviews the 9:02 AM call recording, because that will tell the whole story or even speak to Kimberly that Madison corrected when we checked in. This is making me feel like I can't trust this company. Moving forward I want to record conversations or make sure I have proof or something because their word is not to be trusted. This leaves my amazing birthday/Mother's Day weekend ending in a bad note because of this.

I called ahead and scheduled an appointment for myself and 3 girlfriends. At the time of booking, I made it clear we had not decided on services yet and wanted to choose when we arrived. The night before, they called and left a voicemail confirming us for 90-minute massages, which was never agreed upon. I immediately called back and clarified that we were still coming, but only wanted 60-minute massages and would choose our exact services when we got there. They confirmed that was fine. When we arrived, I signed us in and specifically wrote "combo" because I was interested in their combination reflexology. Before my massage even started, I clearly told my masseuse I wanted the combo reflexology, and she acknowledged it. However, the massage I received was not reflexology at all there was no foot soak and barely any foot work, which is standard at every reflexology place I've been to. On top of that, during the massage they were extremely pushy about extending our sessions another 30 minutes (making it 90 minutes total). I was asked twice, and all 3 of my friends were also pressured to extend. We all declined. At checkout, I noticed I was being charged significantly more than expected. When I asked, they told me they gave me the "combo body massage" instead of the "combo reflexology." That was never what I asked for. Instead of taking accountability or trying to correct their mistake, they did nothing. To make matters worse, their tipping system feels very uncomfortable and aggressive. They present tip options starting around 30-38% and hold the payment screen right in front of you, creating unnecessary pressure. Overall, the entire experience felt disorganized, misleading, and focused on upselling rather than customer service. I take responsibility for not being more confrontational in the moment, but not everyone is comfortable speaking up, and businesses should not rely on that. I left feeling taken advantage of, and unfortunately, they've lost our business. I hope this review helps others avoid the same experience.

Entering the spa itself, you're greeted and asked to wait in the waiting area until they call you. When you're called it, you're escorted to your spa room. I was given a spacious room because the tub and the massage table were in one. The soak experience was a claw tub already filled with a bubble bath. You're given a bath bomb to include, if you choose. I found the tub to have extremely hot water, so I had to drain it a bit and cool the water temp a bit. If you're a fan of a soak, this is for you. If you're not a fan of baths/soaks, then don't do this. The massage therapist gave me a knock to tell me soak time was up and I was to get on the table. The massage was the best part. The therapist had heavy hands, as I requested. She worked problem areas and I felt such relief after. Once it was all done, you had time to get dressed and leave. The showers in the room did t work, so you had to forgo that. You're given a beverage after and you're on your way. Overall, it was a great experience, a little pricy, but worth it.
