This place brought my hair back to life. I had been Japanese straightening my hair for 5+ years prior to discovering this place. Hector the hair expert did the Brazilian keratin treatment and immediately after the very first treatment, my hair was soft, shiny and with long waited life in it. This treatment is a goldmine for us curly girls who want straight sleek hair, and the treatment is very effective yet gentle enough to where he even dyes my hair prior to. The treatment actually seals in the color. Hector just did highlights for me and wow, evident yet subtle.....no brass whatsoever. i got a groupon deal for mani/pedi $45 for this place. i read the reviews before hand, this is for my wedding on sunday. i asked for a gel french manicure instead of the regular, i called and asked before hand, the person was $15 extra for gel and $10 extra french. i got charged for $25 for gel instead and $10 extra french, so which means i got paid $80 for french/gel mani and regular pedi. more over, they are asking for each person 15% tip base on the $45 manicure and $30 pedicure. i explained to her the groupon deal showed original price $45 for both. she said it doesn't matter. so i paid $18 tips total for two people. the groupon doesn't really save any money in this case. in addition to that, for person who did my manicure didn't do a great job, as you can see in the picture the sides of the french gel manicure are not covered. also there are some spots are not covered for manicure. also the person didn't massage my hand. pedicure was really good on the massages part, but afterwards, the color got a lot bubbles in after i got home. i'm very disappointed on the pricing and quality of the manicure and pedicure. even although the people are nice and friendly, i don't think i will go back again. read more

I reallllllly really wanted to like this place, but my experience was far from good. I just moved to the area and was looking for a new nail place. I saw this on Groupon and decided to try Mani Pedi. They reception was great, ladies were friendly and offered me water and tea...then the experience just went down. The technician I had obviously does not have a license. She was the only girl there that did not speak a word of English, she had to get the other girls to translate. So obviously, she did not understand what I said. I asked her not to cut my cuticles and she continued to try to cut it. Pedi was mediocre. She kept painting on my skin(both hand and feet) and during the manicure, I had to ask the other lady to tell her to fix her paint job. Obviously brand new. She was nice, and I don't know if it's cause I purchased Groupon but she obviously did not know what she was doing. Such a shame cause I live down the street and would've been my go to had it been good. Oh, and it was my birthday that day too. Nails chipped same night and almost all gone now. =( read more

Had an appointment here at 7pm for a gel manicure and pedicure which I purchased on Groupon. Got there 10-15 mins early to pick out the colors I wanted and I spoke with the receptionist there that showed me some nail designs and said it would be $10 extra for the set that she had on. So I said ok and waited to be taken. I was not seated until 730 and felt so rushed the entire time because they close at 8. She started my manicure first then moved me over to the pedicure chair to continue my nails so the pedicure lady could start. I was so uncomfortable the entire time having to lean one way so she could do my nails. There was another woman there with a Groupon as well that was treated to wine and a massage while I was being rushed to get out of there which I did not appreciate. I don't have high standards but they should treat all customers the same. Additionally, the extra $10 design I paid for, she did not put on the rhinestones that she showed me came with the design. I questioned her about it and she said it wasn't worth it to put them on because they fall off. Meanwhile they were all just rushing to leave so she didn't want to do anything extra. I came to Spa Blue with old acrylics on top of my natural nails from a very exclusive salon in Beverly Hills CA. They had been doing my nails for years with no problems ever. I just moved back to NJ and needed a new nail salon. I searched everywhere for hard gel builders or non MMA salons. I had broken a nail in a door and also needed a fill. The nail tech at Spa Blue drilled all the acrylic off and applied a hard gel over my natural nails. After the hard gel hardened, she filed and put gel color over it. This process took 2 and a half hours. At first my nails looked good (after sitting for so long I think I went cross eyed) but on the drive home I noticed how poorly misshaped they were!!! Each nail had a different shape!!! It almost looks like a child did my nails. I need to mention that they charged me $135 and it's been not even a week and 2 of my nails have already broken! I am extremely upset. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SALON FOR NAIL SERVICE. read more

I want to like this place, I really do, and I think that is definitely one of the best in JC and could be good with some adjustments. As a male though, I'm sure my review is different than this place's every day customer. Pedicure was good, but not great. I had to remind the technician to do a few things with the nails towards the end. Pedicure massage chairs were super comfy and the cashier brought me water, which was appreciated. Spa atmosphere is nice, good vibe and music, very relaxing. Good location in downtown JC. Estella was very nice, but manicure was not worth the price for a male in my opinion. I didn't get a polish or any coating on the nails, but they still charged me an extra $5 to buff/lightly shine. The manicure lasted maybe 10 minutes total. In most places, a manicure automatically comes with a light buffing and this was a bit much. All in all, $65 for mani/pedi. read more

Visited Blue Spa on my way home from work, the spa is unbelievably clean, convenient, and fairly priced. Maggie worked on my mani/pedi and did an amazing job! They were very kind and gave me an additional 5 minute massage as a new customer! Everyone was kind and welcoming, offered me tea/coffee/water on more than one occasion. The spa is a welcome addition to the neighborhood! They're also open late (8pm) on weekdays which is great for busy folks in the area. Bought 2 group ons without realizing I could use it only once. I called for an appointment and they were nice enough to allow me to use the second. First was for a regular mani and pedi. The place is clean and calm. I also went at 10.30 in the morning on a weekday so was the only customer. Anyways, the staff weren't at all interested. Didn't feel welcomed at all for a new client. I had to ask where I could leave my jacket etc. The pedi was below average. Water was cold and I wasn't even asked if it was ok. Didn't cut nails well at all. Massage was hardly a minute for both feet. No hot stone massage which most places include now in a regular. Hardly any scrubbing. Nail polish wasn't even. Moving on to mani, no communication as to what I wanted with my nails, lady started filing my nails without asking if I wanted them cut. First place I've been to where you have to get up and wash your hands after a scrub; wasn't relaxing at all for me. Hardly any massage again. Two coats of nail paint that chipped the first day. The place I visit regularly always does three coats unless it's a very very dark color. My hands have never been more dry after a manicure. It was so rushed. Im glad I bought a Groupon coz if this service had been provided at full price I would be even more disappointed. Every time I called the staff was only quick to mention that I had to bring cash for tips. I spoke to Groupon to let me allow a trade in for my second voucher since I was very disappointed and they did but since I couldn't find another deal to exchange, I though I'd give it another try for gel mani. The staff attitude was the same. I had to ask them if I could take my jacket off coz while I was still choosing color the lady started filing my nails in a hurry. They didn't even have the color I wanted. Hardly any scrubbing or massage. Will wait to see how long the gel lasts. I'm not sure why they're always in such a hurry to finish. They had no customers apart from me both times. So def would not recommend for the full price they charge unless the service improves. Also, for the Groupons, most places allow using it after expiry as long you book your appointment before the expiry date. They didn't. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews but given the fact that the owner didn't even bother to respond to the email (that included pictures of my pathetic pedicure) that I sent over a week ago, I feel the need to share my disappointment with the pedicure I got at this salon last Tuesday. When I left the salon, one of my nails was missing polish at the very tip. I asked the young lady if she could touch it up and she said not to worry, that it would be fine. Clearly it isn't. Maybe I chose a nail polish that was sitting around too long. I'm not quite sure what went wrong. I don't get pedicures very often but whenever I do, they last me 3 to 4 weeks. This one did not even last 3 to 4 days. I also requested that she shave away some more of the dead skin at the end of my toes. She told me she had but that my skin was too dry. So I went home Tuesday evening and did it myself. I left for Orlando early in the morning on Friday for my husband's birthday celebration and that was my purpose in setting aside the time to have this service done on Tuesday. I would certainly have gone in and asked them fixed it if there had been time. Unfortunately, I had to find a better salon in Orlando where I got a good pedicure. I'm not always able keep up with manicures and pedicures which is why it's so important to me during special occasions like this for my nails to look nice. With poor service and no acknowledgement of my email, I would not recommend others giving their business to this salon. read more
