I go to Blue Spa multiple times a month. The spa is quiet, never overcrowded, and a great place to recharge. The staff is always very friendly and doesn't rush through services. Maggie gives a great massage and makes it a point to remember you. The hair conditioning treatment is also a great relaxing service. Well I'm dropping my review to one star due to the owner's response to my yelp review. Your staff should know how to accommodate unhappy customers. Also I said "Montclair" which is a very prestigious town and I also said my regular pedicure which is $28 is better and offers more amenities than your $60 pedicure. If you're going to correct me on yelp please make sure that the information your staff is relating is accurate. Also i have only reviewed on 2 other places. 1 amazing and the other pretty bad. Too bad I work for the City of Jersey City right across the street & the spa pedicure was disappointing because I would have come back more often. Well I wasn't offered any tea or cookies but I was squeezed in for an impromptu Sunday mani/pedi. If you're Black like myself you may not want to go here. It's clear that they cater to a certain crowd and I was not of that. I was always treated politely but it was more performative than genuine. And I could tell they were trying to be accommodating instead of naturally so. Maybe they never dealt with a young African American who wasn't affluent but either way I felt I wasn't a client they preferred. My suspicions were confirmed when I noticed the extra treatment given to the white customers. Other than that dynamic, it is a clean establishment. Pedicure came out beautifully. The woman that did it was very sweet and kind, the best part of the spa. Did not have time for my desired manicure. I was given a free bag of goodies from their opening which was nice! Peaceful music played. Great assortment of polishes. Massage chair actually worked well unlike most places. I don't think I would go back because I personally felt very uncomfortable there. But if you're looking for an upscale, clean environment catering to the upper middle class this is the place. Note to the manager(s), one doesn't have to be upper middle class and present as such to be able to afford to go your spa. If I am coming there it's because I want to spend my money there and should be treated as everybody else. read more

I think my photo says it all. Cut my skin instead of cuticle and she didn't even notice. Polish job wasn't even at all. Nail polish started chipping the very next day. AND there was dust or something on my nail that they had to redo and proceeded to blame me in Spanish to one another. Really?? Never coming here again. read more

I've been coming to spa blue for the past 1-2 years, and really love it! I always consistently get a great gel manicure and pedicure no matter who does it. They give really long luxurious pedicures even for the regular pedi which I appreciate. They are clean, and use fresh out of a sanitary bag tools, and I've never seen anything that made me think otherwise. I was really wowed since the moment I walked in. The girl offered me tea and cookies!! COME ON... where else can you get this type of service ?! Lol This beautiful spa has a very sophisticated decor and everyone speaks English...you don't find that everywhere I'm sorry.... I have known Hector (the owner), Naheed, and Artie for over 6+ years now. Spa Blue is like my second home. Whenever I come here, I feel like I'm hanging out with my close friends. I go to see my luv Naheed (yes, I call her my luv and my babe) every 3 months for my hair cut, color, and highlights. Naheed turned my hair color from jet black to an amazing walnut/brown/blonde/highlights color! I was skeptical at first because it's also a hair and nail salon and I normally only get massages at places that only do massages. The staff was very nice and Artie was my masseuse. She was AMAZING. One of the best massages I've had since moving to Hudson county five years ago. And you can't beat the price! Everything was very clean. The only improvements I'd mention are the room I got a massage in has a window and although the blinds were drawn, it was still pretty light in there. Small detail, I know but I'm picky about these things. Also, detailed directions on their website. I had to call to figure out where they were. Had a wonderful visit at Spa Blue recently. Immediately when I walked in I noticed how clean and inviting it was. I loved how inviting the atmosphere was and I was instantly greeted. My pedicure was done perfectly. She took her time and made sure the color was not on my skin. My manicure was also perfect. She filed my nails the exact shape I want and slowly put my nail polish on. I felt that she took her time and the mani/pedi really showed. I'm incredibly happy with my experience here. The only downfall was I wish there were more nail polish color options. Although I found colors I enjoyed I do wish there had been more there. I will definitely be returning regardless of the color options. read more

My gel manicure was terribly done missed all the corners and then tried to fix it so I ended up walking out with four layers of polish and the manager didn't seem so alarmed by it and offered me a 25% discount on my future nails. I got a gel manicure and a spa pedicure here. For the manicure: after she would paint a coat she would rush me to put it under the UV light, so I didn't get to inspect it as well as I would have liked. By the time I realized, several layers of paint were completed, but she left a gap of white nail between the cuticle finger area and where she started the paint. The spa manicure was overall nice, however she did not shape the nails well. Its kind of hard to see as they are doing it but the nails are not uniformly round, one comes to a point on one side, one is square, some are round....overall the place is okay if you get their services at a groupon price and are vigilant in supervising their work, otherwise i would say its overpriced for the quality of work. read more
