Rutger was my masseuse, he is amazing! He found tense areas that I hadn't realized were there and stretched/massaged them. He also explained to me what areas to maintain and self-treat as I'm training for my first marathon. Courtney gave me the most incredible facial! Since I turned 35 last weekend, I felt obliged to opt for the anti-aging facial.I was so relaxed! She also recommended a chemical peel (I was nervous, as I've never done one before!) and I'm so happy she did. My skin felt instantly smoother and there was a noticeable difference in the fine lines and wrinkles that I was starting to spy.... The prices I felt were very reasonable for such a nice place. They have a number of amazing, organic products to choose from. The proprietor was helpful and recommended I get started with some Camellia Oil ( a steal at $10!). She also sent me away with several samples to try as well. My skin has loved everything. I know it's sounds absolutely insane, but I noticed a difference in my skin almost immediately. Boise is such a dry environment, and my skin is now thoroughly quenched. Wonderful. I was in a bit of a rush, but look forward to returning and spending a bit more time. I did notice they have a room for meditation, which they do group meditation on Fridays (not guided, just group). She does do a guided meditation once a month on her website. EVERYONE IS WELCOME: For we women who have our Social Security Eligibility birthday in our rearview it is my experience that it is often so that we get treated as second class citizens in salons. I appreciate that Nicole makes me feel as important as younger clients and I've seen her patience and skill in practice for all ages. As related note, not all the stylists in the salon cut men's hair, my previous stylist here didn't as example, but Nicole does and my husband has been her client since 2023. APPOINTMENT PROCESS: I appreciate that appointments are made with the salon, that is one isn't calling or texting the stylist directly, and the calendars are well managed. It may take a few weeks to have an opening for your first appointment, but then they are easy to schedule at planned intervals. Appointment reminders are sent by text but if you need to call the salon there is a number to use to do that. Nalani Ross, the hair stylist in Boise did my hair a few weeks ago. I went in and she seemed so polite and did my hair and even though I wasn't really happy with how it came out- I knew it wasn't her fault per se. When the appointment was over she handed me her iPad which I swiped my card on. The iPad then died. My transaction went through on my end and my card was charged. Later that night she told me that the charge didn't go through. I then looked at my card, saw the transaction still went through on my end. The money was taken out and the transaction was pending. So I wanted her to get her money (70$ but I added a 50$ tip because I always top my hair dressers a good amount.) I then went to work and was contacting support on my side. I spent hours talking to customer support trying to get this charge either cancelled to resend or to get it sent through. I took about 6-7 screen shots of the transaction, the entire conversation etc. Of the whole ordeal to show Nalani that I was working vigilantly to get her money to her (even though it was technically her fault for not charging her iPad and creating this massive headache for the both of us.) The lady via customer service told us that we needed to wait 7-10 days until the transaction falls off in order to resend. Then, the next day Nalani messages me once again asking for the money to be sent. I once again send screen shots of another 1-2 hour long conversation of me and the customer service rep for the 2nd day in a row that I have contacted them and had the same exact response. Nalani then said it was fine and we would wait. During the wait period I had a couple days of my phone being cut off because of personal reasons. (All while the transaction is still pending.) Apparently Nalani tried to contact me once during this time and didn't think to message me on Facebook or any other platform. I get my phone turned on finally today and receive a message from her on Facebook (her first and only message to me via Facebook) and on text. It stated that she was going to contact the police and have this marked as petty theft and tried to accuse me of stealing from her and questioning my morals. That angered me greatly, considering how hard I have been fighting with costumer service to get the transaction worked out, with tons of proof of screen shots etc. We went back and forth and she was extremely unprofessional, condescending and down right toxic. I then decided to just send her the money via Venmo and deal with the double charge until the transaction money falls off and goes back into my available balance. She then tells me that she is going to 'Blacklist me' to the hairstylists in the entire Treasure Valley" and she also has had people harass me on multiple social media platforms. Telling me I am ugly and that I am poor for not being able to pay the money for my hair (even though now at this point I have paid double.) I am disgusted and appalled that a grown woman who is a single mother raising a daughter would treat a client like this. In conclusion, it is her fault for not charging her iPad that caused this entire fiasco. Then she disregards my constant efforts to get her money to her. She then threatens me with criminal charges even though I have proof showing that I am trying to get her money to her. Then she threatens to put me on a Blacklist for hairstylists. It shows her exact character and how terrible of a person she truly is deep down. I have been dealing with a lot in my life and even though she messed up I was still taking hours of my day to make it right for her and make sure she got the money she earned. But all I got for it was a slap in the face and abusive toxic harassment on social media platforms. If you go to Muse Salon, AVOID NALANI at all costs. She doesn't deserve your support. I vented to my best friend who is gay and me being an LGBTQIA alli, we were disgusted and decided to just keep it to ourselves. I left with hair that was soft and didn't look as shaggy. Not only that, Nalani gave me some ideas for what I could do to help my hair look better. As she was working on my hair, Nalani asked me if I had previously had curly hair, which I had. In the past years though, it has just been frizzy. I've never had a stylist notice that. She talked to me about how I could make it curly again. I thought it was great that she took the time to help give me an education. She really met me where I was at and tried to meet my needs with what I was willing to do to rule my hair. Nalani was friendly and professional and very approachable. The system she uses to schedule an appointment was really user friendly. I could make an appointment within the week and I really appreciated that she does appointments on weekends. You get reminder texts, which is nice for people like me who forget. I definitely recommend Nalani. Her prices are in line with virtually every other stylist in the area, $40 for a haircut and $240 for a blowout. It is a lot, but you have to pay people fairly for their time and the products they use.

The reason why I leave this 1 star is because as amazing as her work is her customer service is very unprofessional. I made an appointment with her weeks in advance like she asked. On the day of the appointment she texts and apologizes asking if I can come in later because she is running late with a client. I let her know that I was needing to leave by a certain time due to personal reasons. I didn't think to bring them up since they had nothing to do with my hair appointment. To be safe I ask if we can reschedule because I had gone to her 4 previous times and I know she can take a bit longer because after she still would have to prepare my color and clean and all that good stuff which is understandable. She says due to me wanting to reschedule she would let this time slide but next time she would have to charge me a rescheduling fee. I then corrected her and said it was due to her being late and she said that that is how she ran her business and if I didn't like that I could go elsewhere. She also mentioned she didn't know what was going on with me so I shared a bit to see if that would help her understand and that went even more south again pushing me elsewhere due to timeliness. She had mentioned she was all about her customers and delivered quality customer service. The whole time I was wondering where mine was at because every time either it was morning or afternoon appointment she would be running late it was to make a coffee run in the mornings, waking up late, or running late with a customer. I even offered to pay more money just so she could make it on time since i was going through a personal matter. I think she misunderstood thinking I was asking for VIP service or something because she said no matter what income she charged the same. NOOO! I was offering to pay extra in hopes she could agree to make it on time. I understand being self employed but maybe better customer service especially while representing a hair salon that is not yours is still very important. She also mentioned the owner of Hasbrouck House had made her fix someones hair due to a similar reason before this incident with me so I am guessing its not her first time treating customers in this matter. I have now gone to a handful of salons and everyone is scared to touch my hair because every time they test it it is very slimy and fragile. If anyone knows of anyone who can work on my hair like she could please share. This girl can definitely correct the incorrect and make any hair color a reality.
