Finally fed up with the quality of nail service offerings in the Treasure Valley I decided to try Two Rivers. I called and they were able to accommodate a same-day appointment for a seasonal pedi with gel polish and a manicure. For the pedi, you are seated on an elevated and curved bench (cushioned) in front of giant windows overlooking the river. It was beautiful and relaxing to watch the river and birds while getting the service. My tech was Jada and she did a FABULOUS job including leaving my cuticles immaculately clean. I would ask for her again. All in including a 20% tip, the damage for both services was $168. Jada recommended Stephanie for a facial which I will try next. If you need some self care, do not hesitate to book at Two Rivers. The Best of Boise awards are 100% deserved. read more

What a great experience celebrating my 60th birthday at Two Rivers Salon & Spa! I was there with several friends and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were all taken care of. We had multiple services and throughly enjoyed them all! After our services, we lounged on the back patio overlooking the river. We were allowed to bring in our own food and beverages. Been going to Two Rivers for about a year now. I've consistently had Hailey with the exception of a few times to which I've had a few other technicians. I've never been disappointed with the service or quality of the work. Hailey is awesome and we laugh and have so much fun that time flies. Also, one time I noticed my nails were chipping after a few days. Hailey helped me realize it was the dnd brand that didn't agree w my nails. She happily redid them w OPI. Also I love that Hailey's tattoos represent angel numbers of 666 and 999. Whereas most people would think they are evil! read more

I got luminary gel extensions on September 30. They started popping off yesterday. 10 days! They were expensive and was told they would need to only be filled after 3 weeks. I got them for my vacation and now I am in Scotland and it is a major hassle to deal with. And as they pop off, they are damaging my nails. We walked in and were met with not one or two, but 5 ladies staring at us, looking us up and down, no greeting at all. One of them finally asked if we were checking in, but we were there to ask about their availability and pricing. We were trying to book massages and facials, which she did have a few facial appointments available, but no massages. After that minute of interaction with all of them, we decided to not book and go to another spa. When we let her know we would call, she rolled her eyes as we walked away. Very disappointed with my visit/apt today. When I called to make this apt, i literally asked for someone who is comfortable with Asian hair which is dark and thick. Explain I had a gift card and normally see it my for my main hair gal and she makes it lighter ​every time I see her. But since I am allergic to most product on my face, I can't do facials, and also have a massage lady whom I comfortable with. So figured I try someone to lightened up hair. They recommend Britney when I asked for someone who experienced and specializes in blonde and coloring for my type of hair. They also quoted me around 175/180 for highlights and root touch up Even repeated my questions again when they called to confirm my apt. Then when I show up for my apt. I'm brought back 10 minutes late (I totally understand if stylist run behind tho) then I get sat down, and asked all the questions what I want. I tell her and show the picture that I'm working towards for blonde. She then proceeds to telling me what she recommends which is fine, but I'm paying for what I want. I tell her my hair can take the process but she then she, let me check what I have you down for, for time wise. Id think you'd already know that?? So more times wasted. Then she comes back and tells me she needs to do a test strip on my hair. I asked how long that will take, which 15 to 20 minutes. We are already like 30 to 40 minutes in. So by the time she checks it, let's me know she can do highlights and not overlap. Then asked if there's an amount I need to work with, I tell her no thinking of the priced they quoted me when i first called. Then she tells me it will be like $280 or $300 + even tho i was quoted differently ... I can feel the tension and frustration from us both so I just said I need to reschedule since I need to pick up my son by a certain time. I also didn't feel comfortable with continuing my apt with my stylist annoyed with me so I told her we need to reschedule since we've wasted time already and I need to be out by 3. Called to talk to a manger named sarah who wanted to reschedule me back with a veteran hairstylist (but thats what i asked when i called to sch the first time) they also don't refund gift cards which is also shitty because i dont feel comfortable coming back there. Im told the RJ will call me back but looking at the past reviews with their managers.. i dont have high hopes. And now my husband and i are out of money that was spent on a gift card. On top of it, Brittney left the test material in my hair. Good thing i had time to go wash my hair right after i left! read more

I have been going to the hair salon (spent $1000's) for over a year and it has been a great experience. Recently, I started going to the spa part of the business to get my nails and pedi done. The girl (Elana) I was going to has been wonderful, sweet, and very professional. Twice in a row now I have been told I had to reschedule for a medical emergency. I completely understand these things happen and of course, hope the technician is ok. However, I have limited time to get in. I asked to speak with the manager because I wanted to tell him that this had happened to me, twice in a row now, and if there was any way they could fit me in today or tomorrow. He was soooo rude and thought I wasn't being unempathetic, which is absolutely untrue!!!! He has no customer service skills. Instead of apologizing, he was yelling at me, spoke over me, and I couldn't get in a word edge-wise. I felt that he was manhandling me as a woman and belittling me, telling me I had no compassion. Funny, because I've been a nurse for 25-plus years. I've seen things he could never even fathom. Telling me he didn't want my business. I am also in management and deal with customer service. I would never have talked to any of my patients/clients that way if I had to reschedule them. Now that I have to make a complaint I will also add that a lot of the young girls that work there need to be careful about how they talk in front of clients. Made appointments for me and a friend at least a month ahead of time and specifically requested services. Experience was not good. Facial was $245 short and not satisfying. I did not feel like I got a good cleanse and hydration. I specifically requested firm massage, and it was the exact opposite. Then I went on to a pedicure and manicure, and was told that the timeslot wasn't enough for the services. I had scheduled five weeks earlier. the person doing the pedicure and manicure did not have experience made me feel uncomfortable, and I am not happy with either of my toes or my fingernails. Two Rivers used to be one of the best day spas in the Valley. Now it is one of the most expensive spas in the Valley with the lowest quality results. The past two times I've been in it felt like everyone only looked at me as a dollar sign and didn't really care about giving me a high quality result for my treatments. That feeling was proven right when I had my first experience with getting an awful eyebrow wax, so bad I had to go in the next day and have someone else try to fix it, which they couldn't because half of my eyebrow was waxed off. After all of this I was told that I would not be receiving a refund from the manager, Roni. He told me that I would be only receiving a spa credit back, which I responded that I would not be coming back and I wanted a refund and he again told me no and said I could gift it to someone else if I didn't want to use it (which was just insanely rude and unprofessional in my opinion). So it is very clear to me that Two Rivers only cares about their money being made and not the experience of the clients or the quality of their work. I honestly was a hot mess going in and thought I'd be rejected for being in such bad condition (cuticles, callouses and bad skin) but the staff was amazing. Went in Monday with a gift certificate for a seasonal Mani/peti. Was disappointed in pedicure as spent a little time removing cuticles , just push them back and did not use callus implement on my feet just a gritty scrub, which did nothing for calluses. Hot towels, leg massage was all good Then came the manicure. I told her I wanted regular nail polish and she asked me if I had two hours to wait for them to dry . I said no so we did gel. (More money) I told her I wouldn't be in to get the polish removed and she told me how to take it off myself . I removed rings and bracelet because normally my fingers are soaked. She looked at them and I told her I had miracle nail left on them and it was old..She said oh I'll leave that on it'll make them stronger so she proceeded to do gel polish. . (She trimmed two cuticles didn't touch the rest at all.,, which, normally they at least push back the cuticle (after soaking fingers that is)..moving on she finished up with the hand, massage spray, etc. I flew out of town Tuesday and had already lost all the polish on 2 nails. I went to Walgreens and got the closest polish to that color .. Wednesday two more literally just completely came loose from the nail and fell off .. this is Friday and I have 2nails with your gel left on. My daughter and granddaughter insisted I either call or leave this on Yelp since I'm out of town I left this. Your salon spa is beautiful very high class and I was greeted pleasantly. Don't know if this is how you treat a gift certificate when your prices have gone up since it was purchased , I ended up paying the new price after all, but the treatment was very very disappointing to both me and the person that gave me the lovely gift certificate. read more

My husband recently booked me a prenatal massage here - the massage was amazing!! I loved the massage therapist, she was such a kind soul, made me comfortable, and was just overall wonderful. The point of my concern is that when I checked in the girl at the desk took away the note that I am pregnant and need a prenatal massage. When my massage therapist went to ask her why that wasn't on my appointment notes, the front desk girl told her that she erased it because I didn't look pregnant ... this was super disappointing to hear. You can't judge someone based on how they look - let alone I was wearing a very oversized jacket, so she wouldn't have been able to see a baby bump regardless. If she was worried about if I was pregnant or not, she should have asked me and not assumed. Obviously this is also super dangerous for me and my baby as well. I feel hesitant to come back or recommend this spa to other friends because I don't want this mistake to happen to them. I'm bummed that this dimmed experience as safety has to always be first. read more

Been here a couple times, the facials and massages are great, employees are friendly and helpful. Got my nails done (acrylic full set) and they started popping off one by one like cheap glue ons after the second week. I do not do any rigorous work for them to do that so I was confused what's going on. After the 3rd week I only have 2 nails left. Not worth the $100 dollar price tag. If you come here for nail services stay away from the acrylics. read more

Today I booked two appointments. The first one was with Margaret Wright for a massage. I have gone to her before and she is absolutely the best I have ever had. I suffer from chronic pain and Margaret is so gentle that I have absolutely felt no pain when she works on me. I am going back in a couple of weeks to try a new body treatment called the cocoon. I cannot wait. I also booked a haircut with Abby but they changed me to Shane. He is a very pleasant person but it seems he only knows how to do box cuts. I showed him a picture and all he did was cut my hair short. Now, I am a retired hairdresser and I can tell if a person knows how to cut hair. He did not know-how. I did not say anything to him (which I should have). I did tip him because he did try his best. I could have gone to Super Cuts for the same haircut. But I went to the manager and asked if they liked my haircut? Then I showed them the picture that I had shown to Shane. I was pretty pissed off and did not want to lose my temper. The manager was so great. He did not charge me for my haircut but did offer to have someone else cut my hair. Which I refused. I told them that I was going home to cut it myself. I just love Two Rivers Salon & Spa. I have had facials, nails, pedicures, hair, and massages there since I moved to Boise nine years ago. This just was not my day for getting a haircut. read more

If you're looking for a relaxing pedicure, this is not the place. I went for the $110 pedicure as a special treat for myself, since I wouldn't typically spend this much. I wanted to relax and enjoy a wonderful pedicure experience with all the bells and whistles so to speak. The pedicure was good, however, I felt like I was at girls night out. Instead of what should have been a spa-like relaxing experience, I had to listen to the cackling of the staff. One in particular was extremely loud. I was very disappointed with Two Rivers Spa, not by the wonderful massage therapist I was fortunate to have, but by the condition of the spa. First of all the dressing room and showers are in a very small area.. which wouldn't be an issue except for the employees who are coming in and out of this area doing their makeup and socializing. The towels are fraying, mine actually ripped..the quiet zone is very uncomfortable and cramped. For the amount you charge it would be lovely to have some quantity towels. Came in for a deluxe pedicure which was 50 minutes and included a sugar scrub, and paraffin wax. The woman that did my toes was great. Friendly but not so talkative I could totally relax. The way they have you choose your color is very high tech. Everyone was very friendly. The view of the river is such great ambiance. The salon was super clean. Lately there has been a quality and consistency issue.... Recently I went with my young daughter for a massage. We've used Two Rivers multiple times but the last 3 massages we have had have been less than consistent in quality. My husband went and came back complaining the massage was not nearly as good as had been in the past. A few weeks later my daughter and I went and what he had said about the massage was true for both of us and my daughters massage therapist kept coughing on her during the massage. This nail salon is in a very nice building. You can see the River out the window. Although it is pricey, they had mini free homemade cookies at the front. The staff were mostly friendly, although there were a couple of the staff who seemed impatient with our group. I am giving this two stars because my friend made a group reservation for her wedding. They messed up the appointments, one of the girls had to start all over on her nails because they messed up her gel nails, and multiple of us had our cuticles cut. Two of the girls who got gel had it shrink on their fingers so you could see the border of their nail. I had 3 different cuts on my cuticles. I got regular polish and two of my nails completely came off. One came off 6 hours later and one came off 24 hours later (even though I purposefully did not wash dishes or anything like that to keep my nails nice for the wedding). Either way, I would go somewhere else with a more reliable staff and that gives better quality nail service. read more

From Emily, well did my nail services, to April who helped me since my haircut difficulties, to Loni (sp?) who did miracles squirrel on my face (facial), and even the receptionists in front represented a true team of caring individuals. I love coming into Two Rivers Spa. I have been coming consistently for over a year and love everything about this spa. They always are so welcoming and greet you with a smile. My sister-in-law and I go for manicures every three weeks and Bailey and Sierra are amazing. We also do pedicures with them and they are so thoughtful and truly listen to what we are looking for. Zack the spa manager always greets us so warmly and checks to make sure we had a great experience. The front desk staff are very professional and always help us get things scheduled and print our appointments for us. I love the massage therapists they check in with you for pressure and problem areas. They always offer fresh water and cookies when you walk in and try to make it such a great experience. I've been a client of Two Rivers since they opened in 2000, and 23 years later I still feel relaxed and pampered every time I visit. I've had hair services, waxing, body treatments and primarily go in for manicures and pedicures now. I love to also treat myself with facials and massages throughout the year. Annie is absolutely wonderful at nails and my gel manicures can last over four weeks. She takes her time, is detail-oriented and is just a joy to be around. Their manager Zack is the best. He's friendly, always happy and professional. The spa and salon are always so clean and I haven't found a place that is remotely as great as Two Rivers in the Treasure Valley. read more
