He does hair cut+color and fantastic blow outs. Went in for a pedicure after two years. Had heavily built up calluses and a painful toenail. I saw Cindy. She patiently took care of my feet, got the calluses removed and fixed the painful toenail. The best part for me is that none of it tickled. Normally I twitch and laugh when anyone touches the bottom of my feet but Cindy uses the right amount of pressure. Great experience. read more

I am a beauty professional. I rarely have time to tend to myself and desperately needed a wax, against my better judgment, I went to this "spa" for an underarm and Brazilian. Underarm wax was fine, however when it came to my Brazilian, which I requested to be done with hard wax, the woman laid one strip and then proceeded to dip the same (wooden) stick in her wax pot to apply another strip of wax. I immediately stopped the service and left. As an esthetician, I am acutely aware of skin borne diseases that can be easily transmitted thru these sorts of practices. Warts, herpes, and so many unpleasant things. A wax pot is can warm reservoir for bacteria, fungus and other icky stuff. This is not good practice and very unhygienic. To safely kill any bacteria present, the wax would have to be well over 170° F and that would burn someone's skin off..with that being said, how are they continuing to use this poor, dangerous practice and no one has said a word?? It's unfortunate. UPDATE: My underarms are very sore to the touch. I won't be able to wear deodorant for a few days. read more

Made an appointment for 10am on a Friday. Waited 30 minutes. Never not get seated for my appointment. Man at front desk was nice but told me I still would have to wait. Unfortunately, I had to pick up my family from the airport and did not have time to wait any longer. I then overhear him fitting in a walk in for 11am. Unbelievable! I walked out and stumbled upon "Glamour Nails". It looked very clean inside and the lady who greeted me was super nice. I told her I was in a hurry abs she got me seated right away. DuPont Nails did not have as much as a color selection either. Overall not impressed with DuPont Nails/Spa Logic. Take your business elsewhere to Glamour Nails down the street. read more

Completely unresponsive. I was interested in some of the skincare services Spa Logic offered so stopped by their location to ask questions. I was told to email Kathy, their master stylist and beautician, for more information so I did. No response. Two weeks later I tried again, still crickets. A week or two after that, I went to spalogicdc.com and filled out their "contact us" form, again just asking if there was a way that I could talk to someone to understand which of their services would be right for me. I would never go back there. It's been two weeks, and look at my gel manicure. It started peeling off after the first week, and now it has worsened. Tina was the one who worked on my nails. She was friendly and patient, but I should have known about her skills because, during my appointment, a customer came to fix her nails after a week! I bought three Groupons for facials here and when I called to make the first appointment (for 3 weeks from now), the person I spoke with said that there is a $50 penalty fee if you reschedule or cancel the appointment, REGARDLESS of how much notice you give. So I could call the next hour to cancel the appointment and they'd still charge me $50 even though they have 3 weeks to find someone else to fill the slot. First time here. I went to get gel acrylic nails. I got lost because it was my first time and my google maps was lagging. I called asking for some help but they weren't that good at giving me directions to them and just hung up on me /: but when I was able to find them their service was fast and efficient. Very clean and aesthetically pleasing. I got a really nice lady named Lee and she was such a sweetheart. We talked for a bit and she was great at doing my acrylics. But it was difficult explaining the oxblood color. At first Lee put on a bright red. I told her I didn't like it and explained I wanted a darker one. And she didn't give any attitude! Which surprised me and I apologized saying that I should've specified darker (but I thought that the red would get darker after being under the light) She was sweet about it and said that sometimes it happens and she will just layer it. I absolutely love how it turned out! I asked about the 15% off thing on any service on yelp and they gave it to me! Which was awesome. It was $51 instead of $60! My only criticism about this place is that they should put the gel nail polishes on fake nails so people can see what they look like when they're dried and so they won't have a "problem" like I did. It wasn't an actual problem but it would just be easier if people can see it instead of having to open the bottles and stuff. But my goodness, their service is one of the best and they even give complementary water to the customers! Overall 3/5 stars for me! (: read more

Came here off a recommendation from a friend. I broke one of my coffin shaped acrylic nails and was in pain. Came in to get just that fixed, I will say that everyone was extremely nice but the actual service was not good. I could tell halfway though her fixing my nail that I would not be satisfied but being on a time crunch and having to get my actual nail fixed I just went with it. This nail will stay on long enough for me to find another place to fix it. Also, I watched her use tools to clean gunk out from under her nails and put them back. How unsanitary. read more

I received a prenatal massage here and was really uncomfortable. The pillow set up they had was not comfortable and different from set ups I've had at other places. When laying on my side, there was a lot of pressure on my bottom arm and I didn't feel like my spine was aligned and instead a bit hunched. I also didn't feel very covered during the massage as strategically as I'm normally used to. During the massage, I think my masseuse was either sick and/or itchy because I heard scratching and only one hand at times during massage. Finally, when the massage ended, I was told thanks and the price for today's massage which I found odd because I was still lying on the bed. Then the masseuse left. Overall, I probably would not suggest this place for moms to be (prenatal) massage. Moreover, I noticed they had a sign outside the shop that indicated they had first timers massage specials but I was told there was no special could be applied for prenatal massages. I'm not sure why they couldn't do that considering it was pretty much a standard massage except I was positioned on my side. My massage also started 30 min late and there was no acknowledgment of that. While waiting in the lounge area, there was this super bright tv screen in front of the sofa running ads for Spa Logic that I watched go through probably a hundred times. I did not find that relaxing at all. The screen was way too bright and not sure why they need to run more ads when I'm already on site. read more

My boyfriend and I scheduled a couple's massage for my birthday; we arrived about 10 minutes early, as we wanted to make sure to not waste the masseurs/masseuses/massage therapists' time. Turns out, they were fine making us wait 30 minutes past our scheduled time. Okay, not the end of the world -- maybe they were just providing extra attention to whoever was before us. Meanwhile, the receptionist informs us that the couple's massage is only for the Swedish massage and not for deep tissue or combination, which would cost extra. Okay, not mentioned on their website or when booking, but maybe we should have known better and asked beforehand. Then, unprompted, the receptionist starts rambling about all their other various services (manis, pedis, facials, massage add-ons, etc.) and tries to upsell pretty aggressively. We have to repeatedly tell her that we do not have time today as we have reservations for my birthday dinner. When they finally show us upstairs, they inform us that if we want our couple's massage to be in the same room, it will cost an extra $15/person. WHAT?! Are you serious? If we're in separate rooms, isn't that just two separate massages scheduled at the same time? How is this a couple's massage? Feeling a bit more tense now... Maybe that's their play -- stress you out before the massage so they can help work out the tension. These massages better be good... We opt for being in the same room, since it's a special occasion. As the massages take place (my boyfriend and I later agreed that they felt more mechanical than adaptive/responsive and were subpar at best), they once again try to upsell services (hot stones and aromatherapy). And even after the massage, one of the masseuses asks where I get my hair cut and notes that they offer salon services downstairs. Unbelievable. Definitely will not be returning here. read more

Trying a new salon and finding a new stylist can be difficult when you move to new city. I did a quick search on local salons and pulled the trigger. Spa Logic is a full service Salon and Spa with a plethora of services. My hair came out amazing. Kazim took his time to ask about my hair and what I wanted to do. Today was a root touch up and cut. We decided on the depth of color and how much to cut off. I could tell right away I was in good hands as he is an expert with his craft. He suggested a few options and we went from there. His style techniques, cutting precision and color are top notch. I did use a few at home color kits during pandemic and we discussed next steps on how to fully correct. I discovered Spa Logic when I needed to get my nails done last minute before a local conference. I've walked past many times as a local in the area but never knew there was a nail salon in the basement. Everyone is very attentive to customers. I opt for natural nail polish and got Zoya polish; there's no extra charge. I returned this weekend and got a Shellac manicure and spa pedicure. Service was excellent. It's also extremely clean. Worst Brazilian one can ever imagine and quite possibly the worst spa/salon service I've ever received? First(and this was not a big deal) I was there on time but told to wait just a moment for the wax. That turned into 5 minutes, then 10. Okay, sure, everyone has busy days and sometimes scheduling is out of your hands in customer service. Second, I was told to go in this tiny room on the first floor - no further instructions than that. The space was cramped, no disrobing area, nothing to really cover yourself with. Fine. Then, my waxer comes in and doesn't speak English well - after some gestures, I understand she wants me to disrobe with no cover or area to put my clothes. Okay, I guess my clothes can sit on the floor in a corner. This is where it gets alarmingly painful (and frankly, unhygienic and unprofessional) - the end result was wax on my foot and thigh, multiple times where the skin was not held taught, and multiple reuse/folding of one wax strip that made me question if the salon was in such a bad financial situation that they couldn't afford to use more than a set amount on a client... It was NOT a clean wax, and a far cry from my regular waxing experience at other studios. Will not be coming here again. read more

This review is for the Spa Logic Nail salon, specifically the SNS manicure. If you are not familiar with the SNS manicure, It's a powdered nail polish used to maintain healthy stronger nails and an alternative from acrylic. (1) They did a horrible job at shaping and filing my nails to make the nails look natural. (2) They were overpriced, most places charge $40 for an SNS manicure and they charged $55. And (3) Four of the nails cracked, chipped and/or came off within 5-8 days after getting the done. I gave them two stars to represent the comfortable spa experience that included wine but both my manicure and pedicure was poorly done. read more

I got a deep tissue massage through Groupon and the masseuse told me that I should probably switch to Swedish since I hadn't gotten a massage in a while. She was 100% right (she tried deep tissue and it was not enjoyable); I was glad she let me know but bummed I had to pay an extra $22 to switch to a Swedish massage. The massage was great. I did wish the masseuse was a bit more strategic on timing (i think more time was spent on my right back than my left, but we couldn't correct for this as we only had a bit of time left to do my legs). However, I think the masseuse's skills and technique were great otherwise, and I very well could have just had tons of tension in my upper back! Their spa area is upstairs and the ambiance was very peaceful, though the room was a bit small. There was only a small amount of pressure to purchase a package the end, which I totally understand. I bought the Groupon which included a Swedish or Deep tissue massage, mani-pedi, facial and a glass of wine. Overall....go here for the mani/pedi and facial. Let me start off by saying, had the massage not been so bad, this would have been 3 stars. I also never received my glass of wine which they told me I would get during my mani/pedi. Massage- I signed up for the deep tissue and was asked to fill out a sheet of problem areas. I also mentioned to the masseuse that I would like the deep tissue (yet what I ended up getting was DEF not a deep tissue, more of what I would consider a light Swedish massage) and that I wanted my shoulders worked on more, this also did not happen. In addition, my face was slamming into the metal portion of the face rest the whole time, and I'm surprised I didn't leave with a cut. Additionally, they didn't turn on the music until half way through. This massage was the worst massage I've ever had. Mani/Pedi - Included exfoliation and moisturizer. It was a great experience and there are many chairs if you go with a group of friends. As I was trying to pay I bumped my nail and the woman fixed it with no problem. Facial - Loved the lady who did it. I've never gotten a facial before and she explained everything. Atmosphere - I was a bit confused when entering the building - there is a back entrance which I believe is for the nail salon (don't be fooled by the dumpsters around it) and a front entrance which takes you through the hair salon. I went for a full spa day: massage, facial, mani & pedi on July 21, 2020. The entire spa itself was super clean! It is a multi level building and I was impressed at the cleanliness. I was by myself in the waiting area before my services began, and again by myself in the waiting area of massage floor. I was given a fresh robe after my massage and another fresh robe for my facial. A basket for my personal belongings moved with me between services. The nail stations were individually separated by plastic curtains, allowing everyone their own space. The staff was constantly cleaning and disinfecting, and all were wearing PPE. I felt very, very safe. I was so impressed by the great measures Spa Logic has taken to keep both clients and staff safe. On top of that, all of my services were wonderful. I'd highly recommend visiting this spa as soon as you can! Definitely try to book a massage with Sara and a facial with Kathy. Those were the highlights of my spa day and they each get 5 stars. My nails came out fine, but for the regular price I'd rather go to my normal nail salon. They get 4 stars.
