I had written an earlier review yesterday right after my haircut, but deleted it thinking I'll allow my hair to settle a bit first and give my haircut a fair chance. Unfortunately, I'm still very sorely disappointed by my haircut at SpaLogic. I went in only for a trim, and I asked the stylist to keep the length on my bangs and layers. I was very happy with my current hairstyle from another salon, just needed it cleaned up a bit before I started a new job. The stylist who cut my hair cut my bangs way too short, and gave me a very awkward layer that's extremely short on the left side. My layers aren't even or symmetrical on both sides, and they're heavy so they don't blend together well (they just look like separate sections). I'm just grateful my hair grows quickly and I can go somewhere else for my next haircut. read more

I had the BEST experience here today! Found this place on Groupon and the reviews were amazing so I went for it! I have to say... I almost don't want to give my stylist's name because I want to be able to keep coming back to him and not have everyone and their mother booking him... but Charles was SO lovely! He brought my hair vision to life and then even better honestly. Wonderful conversation, perfect cut/color - afternoon well spent! The two receptionist girls were so helpful/funny and kept checking in to make sure everyone was comfortable. I even got to go back early! Also shoutout to Marco who shampooed my hair - did an excellent job. Overall, 10/10. I've found my new hair salon in DC (like everyone else just moved here). I had a Groupon for a deep tissue massage and used it last week. Sarah was my masseuse and, after trying to talk me into a different massage because I hadn't had a massage in a long while, we agreed to my groupon massage with lighter touch. Wow - Sarah found knots that she massaged out and worked on my sciatica to great benefit. I recently went here and was very happy with all the services that I had taken, including massage, facial, manicure and upper lip wax. This place is huge and literally has all the services that you can think of! It's like a one stop shop. Worthy of mention is a person who did my body massage and facial- her name is Fatiha. She's simply outstanding! I've been to many places for massages in DC, but none was as good as spa logic's Fatiha. She understood my issues (I've specific areas of pain) and she customized & exactly catered to my needs. I will continue to come to Spa Logic just to see Vivian for my manicure and pedicure. She is meticulous with her cleaning and painting, and she is the most helpful in selecting treatments, colors, and services. Her gel manicures last 2-3 weeks and when one of my gels chipped she redid it complimentary. Tracy gave me the awesome short cut I've been wanting for ages but could never find anyone in DC to do correctly! Frustrated by so many lackluster haircuts in DC, I temporarily gave up and let my limp, fine, blonde hair grow to nearly shoulder length. Tracy took one look at my pathetic ponytail and got me fixed up with a great messy pixie cut and lowlights to even out the blonde in about 2 hours. She is a miracle worker! read more

Thank you, Yelp! This place is a god-send for me since I've been searching for a stylist for 3 years living here. I can't afford a $200 haircut, but am not really down with most chain $20 cuts (not knocking, I know there's good stylists everywhere- just hadn't found one!). I usually default to Aveda Institute because it's generally fine, there's a professional to fix any mess ups, and is cheap. I ended up with a stylist I really liked, but alas, he graduated and went to a $$$$ salon so he's gone for now. Per the recommendations here and the amazing yelp deal, I took a chance and booked a haircut with Myly. I also came in early for a gel mani. From beginning to end, everyone I experienced was courteous, friendly, service-oriented, and generally fun. I have been consistently disappointed in customer service in the District and this place redeemed the service industry for me. I don't know how they found all the friendly people who seem to really enjoy their jobs and get them into one spot, but I am so glad they did! Aaron (?) who handles the front desk/phones was so helpful. He was informative, attentive, and generally really pleasant. A good representative for your business! Laurna (? so sorry!) did my gel manicure. She was really helpful with finding a color I was trying to do. I am one of those obnoxious people who can stand for 20 minutes trying to choose a color. I showed her a picture of what I was looking for and she found it quickly and without seeming annoyed by my request (which has happened often at other places, for some reason). She was quiet, but attentive. Offered me a drink twice, took care of my cuticles, and put sun screen on my hands (!!!). I have never received this without asking at any other salon in DC, so that right there got me. Myly did my haircut and I was nervous at first. She didn't say too much when I explained what I was going for, but she was listening. She also offered me a drink; so if you like booze while you get pampered, this is a good place for it :). She worked quickly, chatting some but not too much (really, that perfect balance). She pulled out a razor and I got nervous. I've had my hair cut that way once before and it was awful- thinned out my totally thin/fine hair and just disastrous. I stayed calm, and trusted the process. People on yelp would warn me if someone was awful. I'm SO glad I didn't stop her or hesitate. She's obviously a professional and I love my cut! It's got more movement than I've ever had and she was able to keep most of the length. I am looking forward to my next cut and touching up color with her soon! Overall, a great experience from beginning to end. I highly recommend if you're looking for a reasonably priced salon but not interested in sacrificing service and professionalism. read more

Great service by the Spa Logic Team. I went in for a spa day on April 10th from 2pm to 5:30pm. Facial by Syed (sp?) was great! She was very knowledgeable. My skin not only felt amazing but was glowing after. Next I made my way down one floor to receive a massage from Jin. Very relaxing massage. I did find it odd to be in a room with another client but massage was great. Lastly, I went down to the basement and got a mani/pedi. This is good as well. Overall, great experience. Shawanna Glass has been cutting my hair for almost 3 years now (I even followed her to Spa Logic from her previous salon). She is awesome! I am a 30 year old male with a receding hairline and she is able to cut my hair in such a way as to minimize the exposure. I also hate making appointments and the salon/Shawanna have accommodated me during my monthly visits, many times the day of as long as I call earlier. Went to DC to visit my best friend, she surprised me with a foot reflexology massage at Spa Logic, it was the be at massage of my life. Sarah was excellwnt, she used a lot lot of pressure and worked out a lot of tension I was carrying. I feel 10 lbs lighter! I bought a Groupon for my FIRST partial balayage ever! I was very excited, but left very disappointed. I wanted subtle highlights, but my hair was dyed a bright neon blonde and was not blended at all.... I haven't worn it down since I got it done 3 weeks ago. Although the hair stylist was happy with her final product, she clearly did not listen to what I wanted. ALSO when I showed up for my appointment.... my appointment wasn't in the computer and I was assigned to a different hairdresser than I specifically requested on the phone. Then when I told the hairdresser assigned to me what I wanted .... she said she "might be able to do it depending on what I wanted." I wasn't confident from the moment I walked in and I wish I walked out like my gut was telling me to do. It's awful that every time I look in the mirror I'm embarrassed by my hair. read more

Sarah gives the best messages I've ever had! I have been to number of different message therapists over the years for an ongoing health condition involving stiffness, nerve pain and numbness. I have now seen Sarah for reflexology and Swedish massage. Each time I was blown away by her skillful touch and intuition. I walk out feeling 10x more comfortable than before and continue to feel better through out the week. The overall atmosphere at Spa Logic is very special.
