I got a used spa from a friend. Jeff and Alex did a great job moving it from Campbell to San Mateo. They are very friendly, fast, and professional. When moving out from the starting point I thought it might not even be possible, but they didn't have any trouble at all. When we arrived at my house they were unable to find a non-destructive way to get it into our back yard (we have a challenging layout with fences, posts and neighbors). Jeff offered to schedule a crane for a couple of days later and come back out to complete the move (or he would go ahead "the hard way" but he made very clear how destructive it would be to my yard and my neighbor's). I had to pay $280 extra directly to the crane company but Jeff didn't charge any more for the repeat visit. Jeff offered tips for how to maintain the spa, what I might expect in terms of equipment maintenance and how to fix some corroded ozonator tubing. They were very respectful of our property, and were careful to return everything to it's original condition. I definitely recommend these guys. Jeff and Alex knew what they were doing and had a positive attitude. You can't beat that! read more

Another happy customer. :) Scored an older hot tub from a friend, but our responsibility to move it. We've moved plenty of heavy/awkward stuff ourselves before, but knew this would be a much bigger headache, as the tub was at the edge of a deck on a side hill in the Los Gatos Mountains and was a BIG tub. Other friends had used Spa Movers Bay Area a few months ago, and recommended we called them. I got ahold of Jeff quickly and we were able to work out a time that was OK for everyone involved. The guys had the tub moved and loaded at it's original location in just about 20minutes, without any major issue dealing with the hillside. Easy unload at our place & they listened to what we wanted in terms of location. They have a customized trailer for transport, a neat rolling dolly for the tub to get it around the yard, and a bunch of tools to slide the tub once it was on the platform - so they got it into the exact spot we wanted. Jeff gave good advice on how to set it up - and reminded us in advance to make sure we got the "disconnect box" from the previous owner (which would have been a huge expense to replace!). The other guys were just as friendly & easy to work with. They have a good thing going! Price was reasonable, and the whole thing (including a 25min drive!) was done in just over an hour. We would absolutely use these guys again. Definitely worth the $$ to not have the headache which would have been involved if we'd tried to move the tub ourselves. I had a 17 year old large (4-place) spa that had eaten it's last pump and was beginning to be chronically rodent infested underneath. I asked the guy at a Jacuzzi store where we were exploring our (possible) next spa and he recommended Alex and Jeff. I called their number and described to Jeff the job...spa was in a tight corner, but otherwise very accessible. After some negotiation about timing, jeff showed up with two assistants and his truck. in less than an hour our spa was loaded on the truck and hi and assistants had also thrown in the surrounding walkways and deck framing that we had built around the spa. Wrote a check and we were done...that simple. They were very careful of my landscaping (esp my prized Japanese maples that were overhanging some of the 'rollway'. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to relocate or dispose of a spa. read more

Alex and his team just finished moving a hot tub we purchased in Palo Alto to our house in Alameda. The entire experience went as smoothly as you could possibly want it to go. The pick up location had some challenging terrain (outdoor stone staircase), and it was no problem for him and his guys. When he placed it at our house, he took the time to give me some tips on cleaning, maintenance, etc., and placed the spa exactly where we needed it. Alex was very courteous and helpful when discussing the upcoming move. On the day of the move, I had hired a crane, and he assisted to get the tub in position and move it before and after the lift. He and his team had to do a lot of work, including raising the hot tub up 5 steps and then down into a recessed location very efficiently. We purchased a spa at a show and were assured it would be delivered down our steep hill "no problem" but when they showed up it was a problem and our brand new spa ended up in our driveway. I called Alex and within an hour he was at our house and had a plan, 2 days later he and Jeff showed up with a team and our spa is now in place! Professional and not sketchy---- which is saying something in the moving business. These guys also give good phone which is very important. They return calls and they call when they are on the way. They were on time to my house but I think they would have called if they were running late. They banged up my gate a little moving the hot tub in but I give them double credit for pointing it out to me. Stuff happens but being forthcoming about that stuff is rare. They seemed a little pricey but I am a cheapskate and there was more to moving the tub than just lifting it and carrying it. Recommended. read more

Alex and his team showed up exactly on time on the day and location that we agreed. Prior to arriving, he was very quick to respond to my texts and voicemails with details about the move. They came and were professional and efficient. They moved a very large spa without damaging it and used proper equipment. It was moved across a tricky deck and patio stone walkway and loaded without incident on their special trailer. Upon arriving at our home, they cleared large garden rocks and dug up a few small plants carefully so that they would not damage them. Their communication was stellar during this process. One very small patio stone was cracked during the installation process and Alex offered to be billed even though honestly it was most likely to happen in this process no matter what because of where it was and the weight of the spa. After working with Alex at Bay Area Spa movers, i can honestly say that i've received better service from a rep at home depot (home depot service is the worse). At first they seemed to be professional, but once they showed up I knew I shouldn't have hired them. They came into my property without calling me first. They were not courteous, or professional and didn't even bring their own tools. I had to let them borrow my own and when they were finally taking my spa out, they scratched the spa and my home. Now i gotta pay someone to repaint that section of my home and someone to repair the spa because now it leaks. To top it all off, they switched prices on me (even after all the mess they made). We had agreed on a certain amount, then they increased the price. Saying that if I don't pay they would leave my spa in the front yard as is. It's unbelievable that such people are still scamming innocent customers. STAY AWAY FROM BAY AREA SPA MOVERS!!! Alex, you're bad service provider. Find another job and stop scamming people!! read more

Our house is on a very steep hill, with a lot of angles and stairs leading up to the top deck. Alex and Jeff are problem solvers - they figured out a path to the top deck and were able to get our new spa placed into the recessed deck in about 2 hours, using ramps, winches and other tools of the trade. I think I know how the pyramids were built now! If I had to use a crane, it would have cost 3 times or more. Working with Jeff & Alex was painless - as others have said, they answer the phone, return calls quickly, and are very communicative. They showed up exactly on time - had to reschedule due to the weather and they were very accommodating. They did a great job cleaning up too. Exceeded my expectations, 5 stars. read more

This company moved my spa from point A to point B, but the stairs were not delivered. After some time, a set of stairs showed up on our driveway, but the stairs were not suitable. They were a very old set of wooden rickety steps that do not resemble our spa. read more

Odd group - called about a listing they had on a Monday and was told it was sold 'yesterday' - interesting to have a group open on Sunday but who knows... Still searching around and found the ad still up with an updated date of Thursday (today) so I called again, Jeff informed me that it sold 'yesterday'. Alex was absolutely awesome throughout the entire experience. Very professional, and one of the nicest guys running a small business that you'll ever meet. The spa was an extremely tight fit through our side yard to get to the lower deck. It was looking bleak, but Alex assured me, "Don't worry, this will have a happy ending." Of course, it did. The trio had to remove a gate and a post, which was no easy task. Unlike another company that told me they would remove any part of the fence necessary but would not put it back, this crew replaced everything just the way it was.
