We have used Spa Paws for over 1 year for grooming of two toy poodles. Had good service when Paige was there as the groomer. Always a beautiful job done. The past two grooming done since October 2018 have been awful. Picked up my two poodles today from grooming to find one poodle had her pompom on her tail shaved off to the skin. When I went back in to talk to the owner she was more concerned about another lady whose dog did not get their nails done short enough. When the owner ask me if something was wrong I showed her the groomer had shaved her tail pompom off. She calmly says I'm sorry and tells me to talk to the new groomer. Well the new groomer seemed surprised I spoke with him concerning this bad move on his part. The poodle tail pompom will have to grow out but won't be back there for grooming. Since being home my other toy poodle is having shoulder issues crying in pain when he moves around. It makes me wonder what actually happened in the grooming room today. As the owner stated she does not go into the grooming room. Why not...you are the owner. It is your business to see that all animals are cared for and a job done well. We have used daycare several times and boarded twice. Our one star is for the last board we did on 15 Sep 2018. After one night we were informed that one of our pups had a UTI, she had been seen by a vet a couple of times before for the same thing so we advised to just let the vet there check her out. We were informed that the vet would not be in until Monday, this was on Saturday. We ask about the sign stating that a vet clinic was in the building and got a laugh with "she don't work weekends". While this may not sound like a big deal to some, we feel when leaving an animal in their care when the web site has a whole page about their vet, that they should be able to get the animal treated if a problem comes up (even on a weekend). We were 1500 miles away and if not for a good friend getting the pups and taking her to a vet. Our trip would have been ruined dealing with the problem. The frustration and inconvenience we experienced leaves us no choice but to stop using spa paws and not recommend them. read more

In response to the most recent review, I decided to check out the situation for myself. While I have been taking my dog to Spa Paws for several months without issue, the accusations of neglect were worrisome. When I went to pick up my dog (I actually parked elsewhere and walked so that no would see my drive up), I asked to immediately be taken into the back so that I could see her room. There was no argument from any of the staff, and one of them escorted me through the facility. Since the large dog area is in the back of the building, I walked through another area first, and was able to see into many of the rooms. The truth is that EVERY room had a bed, EVERY room had a waterbowl, and EVERY room was clean (the beds for the larger dogs are cheaper, but I'm told that's because they chew on them). There is no truth to the claim that they remove all the beds when no one is around. The logistics of this alone would make it impossible anyway. Janice, the owner, actually called me a few hours after this, as she had heard that I was concerned about my pet's care. We spoke for a while, and I can honestly say that I don't believe she would ever do anything that would hurt an animal. I know for a fact that my dog is allowed to play with other dogs during the day, as I have arrived in the middle of it before, and have asked if I can watch (there was always a staff member in the room with them as well). I also know a number of other people that take their dogs to Spa Paws, and I have never heard any of them complain. read more

I've used Spa Paws many times for their boarding, grooming, day care and vet services for my two puppies. The staff is always friendly and happy to see my dogs come in. I feel comfortable leaving Lily & Kate here because I know that they will be in great hands and will have a great time on their "vacation", so I am able to relax and enjoy my trip. I like that webcams are available in the "hotel rooms" so that I can look in on them while they are in their room. There is not better review than the fact that when I bring my puppies in, they are excited to be there! I would recommend Spa Paws to anyone looking for the great pet resort experience. read more

I can't speak highly enough about the grooming my sweet Pebbles has received from Aimee. She is so sweet and tender with dogs. Pebbles loves coming and seeing her. The haircut has always been Top Notch. I had a friend that went to someone else and just was not happy at all. She went to Aimee and fixed her standard poodle to be perfection. The best place to take your fur babies. I lived in Fort Worth but now I live in Dallas. I travel a lot with my job and I still take my two Persians to Fort Worth every time I go out of town. This establishment is friendly, professional and kind. The owner Janice is passionate about her hotel and the care of the animals. As for the boarding service, we have never left our "Yorkie" love with anyone more than 2-3 days and then maybe once. After being sold on the place after a tour by the owner we used Spa Paws Hotel mid-July to keep "Dallas" 5 whole days. The Nanny CAM was amazing allowing us to peep in on Dallas from time to time and he was shockingly "content". In fact when I drove up to he Hotel to drop him off, he jumped out and lead the way. I've taken my two dogs there for 3 years and they love it. It's a good sign when both of them can hardly wait to get out of the car when we pull in the parking lot. This place is a joke, and frankly the owner should be ashamed at how they pitch this place as a high-end hotel. I had to go away for the weekend last minute and ended up boarding my puppy after all other area boarding locations were filled up. They claim to be high-end with luxury amenities, and even name dropped (on two occasions) the Mayors dog is a repeat guest. The exterior and entrance are beautiful, but thats where it ends. The area where your pet stays leaves much to be desired. The areas they were willing to show me included the play area, which is nothing but a concrete room with absolutely nothing inside for your pet to play with, and the boarding area which is more concrete and empty glass rooms. They charged me 70/night for board and 2 play care events of only 30 minutes at a time per day. I was extremely nervous leaving him here, but was comforted by the fact they had webcams available. I contacted them while I was on my trip to get the login for the cameras but was told he was staying in a room without cameras, but for 20 dollars more per day he could be moved to a room that had them. I was severely underwhelmed by this place and frankly think they are sheisty. I would encourage everyone to go somewhere else. read more

Spa Paws, home of the 10 hour groom!!! Grooming has gone from decent to horrible. Took my Doodle there last Friday at 7:30AM for a groom. She still wasn't ready went I got off work at 5:30PM. I had a dinner meeting in Plano to go to, but they offered to drop my dog off at my house (which is 1.2 miles away) for $20. I told them that seemed unreasonable since 10 hours is quite a long time to have a dog for a groom. Owner offered to cut the delivery fee in half to $10. Wow. What a deal! Can't believe they would lose a customer over $10. On top of all this, this isn't the first time this has happened. Last time they had her for 12+ hours and the owner called to apologize. I told her that I wasn't mad, but in the future if your groomers don't have the time to do a groom in a reasonable amount of time, just tell me and I will schedule my appt. for a different day. Apparently this fell on deaf ears. When I returned home the dog didn't appear to have had anything done to it except a light brushing. Rip off. Won't be back. read more

Spa Paws charged my credit card without my knowledge of the amount and without my authorization to do so. I was told my credit card would be used for the deposit ONLY. My card was charged an additional $700.00 for the final bill which is also disputable. When asked about the charge I was yelled at and cursed at by the owner Janice and told they "didn't need my authorization to run my cc for my bill" When I asked for a copy of the charges and my original paperwork I signed when authorizing the $140.00 deposit I was told " I don't have to provide you with anything, I've already been paid" and hung up on. I called back to discuss the issue and was told she felt threatened and hung up on again. This is a BUSINESS owner yelling and cursing at a customer she just STOLE $700.00 from and telling them she is not required to provide proof of charges or authorization. I have read multiple reviews stating the same thing about unauthorized charges and the owner yelling at them and having confrontations when questioned about the charges. DO NOT do business with them if you want QUALITY service and Great customer care as you will NOT get it. Janice (the owner) is a nightmare to deal with and is very hateful and rude if you question the charges. She also will yell at you and tell you to shut up and tell you she doesn't need your approval to run your credit card. LOL this place is a joke and I do not understand how she is still in business after all the reviews I just came across and how she speaks to customers. Check out the BBB website, the attorney general website and the ripoff report reviews and any other place you can before choosing to do business with such hostile people. I picked up my dog on Saturday after a week stay at Spa Paws and asked where her bed was before we left since it was not returned. The lady who brought my lab to me said they did not see a bed. A little while later she came out with my dog's bed in a trash bag. She told me they had a little mishap and my dog chewed up her bed. When I started asking questions about when it happened, if she acted normal afterwards etc. they said that the person in charge of her wasn't available and they couldn't answer any of my questions. They did tell me they would have her call me later to discuss. Seemed fair enough. All I wanted was someone from Spa Paws to call me back so I could get some info. about when this happened, and the timeline of events. No call later Sat. or Sunday. I called them back on Monday and they said they would have the manager call me back. I took my dog to the vet on Monday to have her stomach checked to make sure she didn't ingest some of the bed. Vet did a regular exam by feeling her stomach and we agreed that I may have to return for a sonogram. By the way, my dog hasn't chewed since she's been a puppy. Called Spa Paws back on Monday after the vet to get answers and they then told me the manager was at Market and out of town all week but they gave my info to the owner. Never heard from the owner so called back Tuesday. They said they would pass the info to her again. Called again today (Wed) and they asked me to email the owner. BIG MISTAKE If I could share the exchange of emails you would be appalled!! The owner (Janice) became very rude and hostile. So extremely unprofessional for a high end establishment they claim to be!! If this is how I'm treated I can't imagine what goes on behind the scenes of their posh hotel. I have never written a negative review but feel so strong about letting others know what kind of place this is before trusting them to take care of your pet. read more

Please don't take your babies there!!!...I'm not going to talk about all the technical issues, lack of communication and bad organization that they have, I will just say that after the four days that I had my dog boarded over there he came back sad and scared and next day he started to pee blood, I took him to the vet immediately he had his spleen removed cause it was bleeding...how could this be possible!!! he was perfectly fine just before I took him to this place...so what happened? Who did this? Who kicked my dog and why?. I'm not asking for anything I don't even want to talk with this people, I'm just telling you if your dogs are small and cute they might be safe, but I guess my argentine dogo who yes, looks like a pit bull didn't receive the same treatment, so please don't trust this people, they clearly doesn't know how to handle all type all dogs, I should've known better since the beginning, they didn't even ask you for your vaccination records I gave them everything that in other places is a requirement plus all the specifications that my dog needed I was going to pay for everything even services like massages and holistic therapy that they advertised and they don't even have!!!!. Extremely disappointed in the services given by Spa Paws. I took my dog there for boarding and grooming over the holiday. Requested for my dog to be placed in a room with a Nannie Cam of which didn't work any the entire visit. Informed the staffing and no resolution. When I checked out the owner Janice informed me that she was unable to adjust the $30 off my tab which was the charge for the Nannie Cam and to call on Monday for the refund. In addition, my dog was badly cut during grooming of which they SAY he was matted however it was VERY clear the groomer cut too close to his skin and there was absolutely no proof. After calling to speak with office manager about the refund and my overall experience and how I was disappointed in the overall visit. She never returned my call therefore I called the next day to get ahold of her and the owner Janice comes on the phone. This lady didn't even allow for me to speak and voice any of my concerns or ask if the refund had been completed. She immediately got hostile, angry, yelling, saying she was going to call the police, stated that I harassed her and her staff, hung up the phone in my face, had to call back she then she called my a liar and a BITCH. All because she asked me to call to ensure the refund was credited back and I wanted to ask more questions about the situation with my dogs ear as I now have vet bills after the animal neglect by this establishment. After researching it seems as tho they are known for animal neglect!!! Never Never Never take your pet here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The WORST customer service, animal treatment in all over DFW !!! Literally, the WORST experience I have ever had in terms of customer service. Let me start over; the staff is wonderful, the owner, Janice, by far has the worst people/customer service skills I have ever experienced I a business setting. It would have been SO nice to know that if you're picking up your dog late, they have a different phone number, a back line to call in order to open the doors to get your dog. However, I stood outside for hours and sent numerous amount of messages to Janice to get my dog when I had called ahead of time to let them know when I was 5 minutes late. So, I stood outside for hours until they finally answered the door. Hours later I got a call from Janice telling me how wrong I was and how "I just don't understand," why they run their business so unprofessionally. I would absolutely never ever send my dog their again nor would I advise anyone to send their dog to their location. They do not care about the well being of your dog, just about how much money they can get out of you. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. The owner is so rude. I have never been spoken to like that in my life. She yelled at me, wouldn't let me speak and told me that my dogs were never allowed to come there again. All over someone at her front desk giving me false information about my dogs being able to stay there and have a vaccination given by their in house vet. That was the 4th bad experience there. When I tried to explain that the last experience was bad as well, they lost my dogs collar, she said in a very mocking tone "oh no we lost a collar! That's the end of the world". I would not recommend this "business" to anyone. Oh and I had already paid the deposit which I was told I won't get back for at least 3 weeks when the manager comes back on duty. read more

Over the top luxury accommodations and merchandise for my little Fluffy Baskir. Janice and her competent staff love the pets and treat them like little furry royalty. The prices are reasonable and the services top rate. I only board and groom my little doggie here. I buy all of his food from Spa Paws. My husband and I take our very spoiled, very rambunctious GSP here almost every single day. We cannot speak highly enough about this amazing facility and even more of their wonderful owner, Janice, and her superb staff. First, our sweet Knox ABSOLUTELY LOVES IT HERE, and what could be more important than that!? It is always absolutely immaculately clean with fun new products for your spoiled pooch, health conscious bakery items (which are healthy enough for people to eat, guilty!), and top-notch dog food brands. All the pups I see come from grooming look absolutely adorable. They are flexible with their check-ins and checkouts due to hectic schedules. They have a fun large playroom and outdoor area for those pups that need some running room. The entire team treats us like family and is genuinely happy to see Knox and us each day. If ever any extra special attention is needed, they happily offer without any hesitation. For example, our poor guy was injured and needed to be away from other pups for a week, so the staff gladly took some extra time out of their days to play individually with him. Those little extra touches really go a long way. As a small business owner, you come to value the hard work and passion you see other business owners put into their work, and Janice goes above and beyond what someone could ever expect. The happiness of her clients and their four legged family members are her number priority and she pours her heart and soul into Spa Paws. She is there all day long, and even watches her cameras when slips away for a quick bite to eat to ensure the absolute best well being of the facility at all times. I am so thankful that Fort Worth has this gem and that they treat our little Knox as a part of their family! Our family had the most amazing vacation in the Caribbean, but unfortunately our happiness was short lived and our memories tarnished, because of the poor care our dog received at Spa Paws. We felt confident in our choice, but sadly it was a bad judgement call on our part. In hindsight, there were warning signs when we dropped our dog off, rap with profanities playing loudly throughout the building and the strong smell of urine. Our dog is exhausted and uncharacteristically lethargic, he has an injury on one of his front paws, a large sore on one of his back paws, scratches on his private area and scratches on his face. We are taking him to the vet in the morning to get a full physical with hopes that he is on the mend. We are so saddened by this experience and we pray our dog is given a clean bill of health tomorrow and that no other dog or dog owner ever suffers an experience like ours. read more

The quality of the grooming here has steadily declined over the years. Their original groomer was amazing, and my furbaby absolutely loved her. She always came back to me happy and looking great. Now, the groomers can't follow simple directions (no bows!), ignore instructions for the cut and just shave her, and ignore any addition services you request (like dremeling the nails) but still charge you for it. Spa Paws Hotel is a dog and cat boarding/grooming/daycare/wellness facility that is located off Carroll Street in Fort Worth behind Super Target. Although they claim to be a 5 star pet hotel, many of their ambiances are deceiving. They claim to take the utmost care for your pets with matching posh beds, blankets, food/water bowls, etc. in each themed room. Most of their rooms are staged during a tour. When a dog checks in (daycare, boarding or grooming) the staff pulls all of the staged beds and blankets and puts them in a closet. The reality is that your dog gets put into a room with nothing but a stainless steel water bowl. They also tell you that your dog will be able to play in daycare with other dogs of their size in a supervised environment. When I first started going there, I never even saw my dog in daycare. My dog was taken back into a hall and put into a room. After speaking to the owner, she told me that she was sorry. The next time I went there, my dog was placed in a pack of big dogs that we not supervised. The person who was supposed to be supervising the dogs was getting other dogs from the lobby and taking them to other parts of the facility. Another girl was eating a donut behind the desk instead of watching the dogs as well. This is unsafe. If a dog fight were to break out, who would be there to stop it? I will not bring my dog back. Everything that I was told on a tour before I took my dog there was not actually happening when my dog was in facility. When I boarded my dog there, they gave me half of my dog's food back at pick up and told me that he ate just fine. If my dog was a picky eater during his stay and I got food back that would be one thing. However, I preportioned each and every meal and received bags back when I was told that my dog ate everything. I do not feel like the staff kept good tabs on my dog. Overall, I have given this place plenty of times to fix any problems that I have had and all they have done is lied to me and masked any problems that I have confronted them with. They claim to have a wellness center. Their vet is never there. The office is always empty. I have asked plenty of time to meet this vet and I always get the run around from the girl at the front desk. Overall, this place is overpriced and you do not get the service for your value. They are more worried that their bling bling collars and fancy dog sweaters are in order in their ritzy retail area than if your dog is supervised in a pack. If I can see all of these things by observing from the lobby, what can't I see? read more
