The only service I got was a massage and I didn't get a robe while I waited. This was my only compliant. It seemed to take away from the "spa experience". However, my massage was amazing! One of the best I've ever received. I don't believe that massage therapist is there anymore. So when I went this time I was so excited and figured their services could have only improved since the last time. We arrived and had a very warm and friendly greeting from the front desk. She took us to a small dressing area and told us we could put robes on and store our items in lockers. This dressing area wasn't much of a spa feeling, more like a dressing room in a department store. We waited in the waiting area for our services to start and were given a refreshing cup of lemon water. The waiting area is nice and relaxing but a bit close to the front of the spa. We were taken back to our services and I received a facial first. I was told it included microdermabrasion and a chemical peel. I opted out of the chemical peel. The facial started and besides the microdermabrasion it didn't seem like much. She finished with a mask and told me she would be back in 10 minutes. It felt more like 20. I started getting hot from the bed warmer and was ready to be out of that room. Not exactly how you want to feel when you are getting a facial. I then received my massage. The massage therapist talked a lot during my massage. I really really hate it when massage therapists talk during the massage! She was ok, but seemed to do more rubbing of my skin than massaging of my muscles. If I wouldn't have had the package given to me as a gift, I probably would have been upset to pay for these services. Next was the manicure and pedicure. It was probably the fastest manicure pedicure I'd ever received and was already chipped by that afternoon. Definitely not a SPA mani pedi. More like a mini mani pedi! I have to say the entire staff at a true spa is very nice and accommodating and we did have a completely relaxing and fun spa day. I do like the atmosphere of the spa and it's very clean, new, and has a relaxing feel to it. We were given as many drinks as we wanted which was also very nice! They had champagne, red, and white wine. Overall, the spa is a good experience, just not the best spa services I've ever had, but I guess it could all depend on the staff member you get!

But the massage was HORRIBLE! I even paid more to get a deep tissue massage but she did not put any pressure! I ended up asking her for more pressure but did not get any! I was highly disappointed especially since that was the part that I was looking forward to the most. The "touch up" ended up being a lot of makeup and I ended up wiping most of it off when I got in the car. Overall, everyone was really nice but that is not the reason I had gone there. I will not be going back.

She offered suggestions for my skincare and listened to my concerns. I had an area that particularly bothered me and she spent a generous amount of time working on it. My skin felt better after each time. There was no pressure to return even though she made it clear by explanation and by the differences I immediately noticed with my skin that it would be beneficial. The salon is tucked in the corner of a small plaza in Wentzville. The decor was calming. If I have funds, I will return. Lauren gave me several product references that are not sold in her shop, was informative about the local dining and was not annoyed that I was late the first time. I was pretty late and she said she might have to cut me a little short but still my skin felt great when I left, because of the technique she used. Try this place out.

We were treating ourselves, woke up just to head that way, got in, and waited 10 minutes past our appointment time before they finally let us know that one of our masseuses hadn't shown up. They offered us 20% off a future service, but that was pretty much it and sent us on our way. My boyfriend pointed out that if we had cancelled, we would have had to pay 50%, but I won't speak more on that. We were lucky to get in the following weekend for a couples massage, but they weren't very accommodating to our schedule even though they initially cancelled on us. After we had already driven there. The massage we got was great, my masseuse was more about applying pressure than actual massage, which isn't usually my thing, but I have so much relief from it so I can't complain. My boyfriend also thoroughly enjoyed his massage. As far as our service went, it was great. I'm just not sure I would continue coming back here since it hasn't been the greatest experience. I can not believe I am just writing this review. I started going to metro the spa over 15 years ago…read morefor massages. I consider massages a part of my health. And now go twice a month Through out the last 15 years I have had times where due to my family giving me a gift card or because of heavy financial constraint I have seen other massage therapist. Every time with other massage therapist I have been disappointed. I have never had massage outside Metro the spa that is as good as RC. There has been a few time when due to my schedule I had another massage therapist besides RC at Metro and they have all been amazing as well. He works hard to hire qualified individuals! Specifically about RC and how he gives a massage. He listens, before each massage he asks how are you feeling and will adjust the massage based on what is bothering you. You DO NOT get a cookie cutter massage. Also I have to rave about that fact that I have been getting a deep tissue massage and it is done in such a way I am still relaxed and can get my "massage drunk". His skill, knowldge of the muscles and flow of the massage are superior. Another huge bonus to going to Metro is when you get an hour massage, you get the full hour. All other places I have been to give a 5 minute undress and 5 minute dress time. Which means your massage is 50 minutes max. And those places generally would always short you even more time. Most of the times I had massage at Massage Lux and it was about 40 mins from hands on to hands off so they could turn the room over quicker. You will not get shorted at Metro. I will add that because you get your full time sometimes they run a little behind. So do not be in a hurry or have any plans after your massage. As for pricing. Their prices are comparable if not lower than any other place I have gone too. And the service is top quality. Highly recommend Metro the Spa and RC!!
