Service has really gone down. I tried to book online but no prices were listed. When you click the "book" button it only gives a phone number. When I dialed the number to inquire about prices, the person on the other end insisted I had to book an appointment for a price quote. Very strange. The knots in my neck encouraged me to even stop by in person. While in person I did get a price quote, but I was told I couldn't make an appointment in person and I had to call. Huh? This was my first Thai massage and it was amazing! I have had knee problems for awhile now, sometimes making it difficult to squat & get back up. I noticed after my massage my knees were hurting without movement which was worrisome. However, within 2 days my knees had no pain and I am able to squat with ease! This is very important in my profession as I'm constantly trying to meet my patients eye to eye as a nurse. Very thankful for the massage and I can't wait to go back! I hold off my reviews until I've received a few massages from a therapist to ensure consistency and quality. I have to say that Mark is 5-stars all the way. He chats with his clients briefly before each session to make sure he targets areas of concern, then he begins his session with (what feels to me like) Reiki. This review is not about their massaging skills, but the lack of communication among employees. To me, one of the factors that make a business successful is great communication to both your your customers, and your staff. I called 5:41pm for a 30 minute massage because I couldn't schedule online. I called them instead. Someone answered and took my request and said she'll call me back. She called me in about two minutes and told me Jane will massage me at 6:45pm. I took the appointment. Fast forward to 6:45pm at the massage spot. Waiting a few minutes. A person came to the door and asked if I made an appointment. I said, "Yes, 6:45pm with Jean." That person said that Jean started a hour massage. I was shocked. I was upset. I've been stressed out at work and to tell me initially they had an opening, I was happy. Now, they can't see me. The person said sorry, but I complained there needs to be better communication. After arriving home, I received a text from someone. It read, "Sorry Yuri will take care of you. Jean still busy." I got this text at 6:37pm. By this time, I was driving to the massage place. At home, I called the number back. I told them the person at the spot didn't know that Yuri was going to massage me, so I left. I really want to support this place because they're local and not a big chain, but it's upsetting that they can't even communicate among each other. I say this because I have lived all over California in LA and San Diego and gone to Thai massage places there. I'm pleasantly surprised to find a good place in my childhood hometown. They really focus in on your trouble spots and use techniques that address the muscles differently than what I've experienced at other places. 100% my go to place. I've had both Mai and Tina. Really wanted to like this place but unfortunately I can't give them a thumbs up. My massage started on the floor. . They have like the mat set up on the floor but it's really just a bunch of different mismatched towels. So I laid there for about 10 minutes waiting for someone and I look up and I'm sitting on the floor looking at the baseboards.. it just felt weird. The lady came in and I told her I want her to focus on my neck and my shoulders and I told her if she did a great job I would be back every two weeks. Then she left. And I sat there another five minutes or so. When she returned again she took me to a room with the massage table. I was glad about that cause I wasn't feeling it on the floor. Sadly the massage, well it just was not it. I have back problems and I need a masseuse that knows the anatomy of the body and how to work muscles to relieve tension. I also wanted them to walk on my back like my last amazing masseuse. When the girl took me to the room there wasn't an apparatus to do that so she tried to sit on my back and put her knees on me. They just dug into my bones and hurt. I don't know what she was doing... In any case she rubbed my head like she was washing my hair for at least 5 full minutes. She did it really fast and didn't actually massage. All she did was create a huge rats nest in my hair. Good thing I didn't have anywhere to go after. . Then she put lotion on my face and again real fast and hard she rubbed my cheeks over and over? Then, wait for it.....she massaged my nose! Ok now I am just laughing inside at the silliness of the whole situation and thinking WTH is this?. It was like she just rubbed up and down and side to side on my back. No actual massaging even took place. She never used her hands or fingers to work my muscles. I seriously got up from that table thinking damn I need a massage. So guys, I took one for the team. The massage started at 3:30 for an hour and it ended at 4:15 , didnt get a complete hour. First time from getting massages over the years ,didnt think i would have someone step on my back which was so weird she literally was massaging my back with her feet . The therapist that took care of me before isn't there anymore her name was Mai and she was great. She also introduced me to another therapist named Mark who was just as amazing as she was and he's no longer there either. So if you go and those 2 aren't there don't even waste your time. The new folks don't put any feeling into the massage and make it feel like they just want your money. The deep tissue massage got all the knots and kinks out my back and I feel like a new person. I wish i could review the actual service, but it was never provided... I had an appointment 9/15 for 10am. I arrive at my appointment but the doors are locked. I waited a few minutes before knocking, thinking they're setting up since they open at 10am. After about 10 minutes I start calling multiple times to see if anyone is inside and eventually I leave a voice message. About 20 minutes later I get a call back from I'm assuming is the owner stating they can't get ahold of whoever is supposed to be there. Brought my wife in because the last time was so great. Tried to make a reservation but the woman who answered didn't speak English . I asked about Mai who I had seen before and has several good reviews. When we showed up at the time I said we would , they seemed surprised and annoyed. Just as we got in our rooms , they asked us to pay first. Never had that happen. The website says they accept Visa and they got annoyed when I gave her my card . They were angry I didn't have cash. Lots of talking and walking back and forth. That took 10 minutes. We should have just left then as they were so unwelcoming. We hate couples massages at Chinese acupressure massage establishments because they always talk and joke through the massage. We started in two separate rooms but after laying on the tables they moved us into the couples room because the AC was better ( it was hot ). They never asked what kind of massage we wanted. Asked no questions about where our sore points were . They barely touched the areas we needed massaging . We both got pretty mediocre massages. They talked through out the massage which ruins it . Someone opened the door , said something and they all laughed. My wife said she'll never go back. Her masseuse used no lotion or oil , only touched her through the sheet and barely put any pressure. Compared to my first experience it was pretty bad. I'm not sure what happened to this place, but I feel like we just threw money away. My partner and I just got a massage at this place. My masseus was pretty good, I enjoyed my massage specifically and so did my boyfriend. Only thing that was concering was when we were at the front, the lady said to give them both $20 each and the other masseus for tip, we said "It was great! We'll give $10 each." The other lady said "yes okay thank you." But the other lady though didn't look happy, I thought that was really odd?? Because a tip should not be must...but just an additional to the cost. We paid $160 for a couple's massage plus $20 for tip. We said Thank you and she shut the door at us! So because of that we won't be coming back here. You guys lost customers. Supposed to be a couple massage for me and my Aunt. It's a bday treat for my Aunt. However it turn out that there's only 1 available that day. Although disappointing I still kept our reservation. Although Michelle offered to do a back to back but since we already have plans afterwards, I declined. My Aunt was very happy she was very satisfied with the massage and she wants to go back again. This review is a heads up for any regulars that have come here in the past. Background- I've had Thai massages in Thailand, and massages here at this location in the past. I came here today thinking the business was under new ownership/name and that Yoko and Michelle were still working, which I should have just confirmed on the phone when I called to come in. I was greeted by a new face, and I didn't catch her name, but after I laid down on the table, the masseuse crawled on my back and started pressing on it with her hands and knees as if trying to crack my back like a chiropractor. 1st strike. When she was at the head of the bed, she brought the sheet down from my shoulders and past my butt, and tucked it in my underwear completely exposing my butt, which at that point I would've opted out on wearing underwear had I known my ass was going to be exposed. Usually if they tuck the sheet, it's still at least covering 3/4 of your butt. Anyway, now she's working her way down from my shoulders to my butt, so fast and aggressive, like I swear her thumb could have slid in my asshole with one bad move. 2nd strike. I know I asked for deep tissue, but it should still be relaxing. Then she started to do the same things with her elbows/forearms, this time involving my spine and hip bones which was so painful! 3rd strike. I told her to stop and I didn't like the way she was massaging. I asked her if she was the only one here and she said yes. I believe she called the owner, who I was able to speak to on the phone. Mai was curious about what was going on and if I wanted my massage done softer. I said no, I like firm pressure but not on my bones. Mai advised me to come tomorrow, a Friday, since she will be there and she would give me my massage. I told her I wasn't sure because obviously I'm traumatized. So if anyone can vouch for this place or even Mai being a great masseuse, please let me know because this used to be my go to spot, and now I'll be looking elsewhere unfortunately. Soooo... I've been working loooong hours causing tension pain on my right shoulder & back. My husband is a regular client at this place and told me that I should get a massage here. I immediately booked a couples massage that day and got a spot that early evening. The place smells good, nicely decorated, clean, ambiance is great with nice soothing relaxing spa music playing in the background. Sherry greeted us as we enter, and directed us to our respective massage rooms; I ended up on the table, and my husband on the floor (in another room adjacent to min) as he chose to get a Thai massage (the one where the masseuse twists you like a hot pretzel) My masseuse- Ana was great & very professional. She explained what she was going to do first, then warmed me up before hitting the spots I needed work on. The massage was very relaxing, I'm still in pain but with 2 more sessions with Ana, I'm sure this will be gone. I highly recommend this place and will definitely recommend this to my friends. I was able to make an appointment with easy. i've been to this location several times the staff is very professional always feel rejuvenated after I leave and also they will provide you with helpful tips to make sure that you don't go back to your old habits of slouching in your chair. i've had different staff members.
