Indoor dark rollercoaster ride at Magic Kingdom space mountain!!! The theme is very space retro and nostalgic of all the great films of the era. Lines were short when we went. No fast pass and we got thru in about 20 minutes. The ride doesn't have crazy drops, inversions or looptyloops but it has great curves, light tunnels and space theme. Perfect for the whole family! Definitely a cannot miss when at Magic Kingdom!

I will never be able to say enough about this ride. But maybe my riding at three times during my one day at Magic Kingdom will be enough lol. This is one of the last few Disney rides that has an original theme and not just some IP right they come up with to keep pushing sales for merchandise. This is the Disney we need to get back to where they're creating their own characters for the parks or their own theme for the parks. Space Mountain stands alone as its own unique ride and story. There's not really much of a story I should say... But the theme is there. You're getting on a rocket ship and you're flying into space lol. And guess what? Making goofy aren't coming with you. It's just a nice break from the constant bombardment of "look at this Disney character ride", "look at this Disney character ride" lol. I understand you're literally in Disney World and that's the point, but look at rides like Pirates of the Caribbean or haunted mansion. That's what I'm talking about. These are the type of rides we need to get back to. I hope they never touch this ride. So much fun, and it being a coaster in the dark makes it that much more exciting!

What I remember most is how hot it was during that walk in the tunnel leading to the coasters. Wasn't that long of a wait but the line seemed longer than 20 minutes due to the temperature but...other than that, the ride was a thrill. I'm glad there were no upside down loops after eating enchiladas. Located in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom this indoor roller coaster with streaming lights, flashes and loud space jams blasting is pretty smooth but speedy. A few curves and short drops loop around through a space theme for about 3 minutes.

Space mountain is the famed indoor roller coaster of Walt Disney worlds magic kingdom. Iconic and classic Disney world ride located in the Tomorrowland portion of magic kingdom the ride is dated feeling while processing through the line. But it is still loads of fun. One of the few true thrill rides located in the Disney parks this roller coaster will take you through very fast moving drops and turns throughout the very dark and space themed indoor ride. Space mountain is always a must ride whenever me and the kids Visit the park. Be prepared to wait around 40 min or longer whenever you visit. The wait never seems as bad as others because you pretty much constantly move as they have a lot of carts going and two sections. Overall a true classic and nostalgic ride that stands the test of time. Very fun ride and worth it for anyone who loves indoor coasters are thrill rides.

THIS is the reason I go to the Magic Kingdom! I can really give two mouse turds about any of the other rides, but a trip to MK without a ride on SM is like going to EPCOT and not looking at the Golf Ball thing. I have ridden may rides in my years and grew up a close to the Roller Coaster Capital of the World, but nothing at ANY park can compare to Space Mountain. It's a dark and twisty (which would be a good name for a drink) roller coaster that's indoors. You sit in a single-file configuration and you go pretty fast through lots of turns and spirals and fun, and that's the key. It's a fun ride. If you can get a fast pass or a genie or a lighting lane or zippy zoo or Disney dash or grumpy go or Cruella cut or Belle Blast or whatever they call the special line when you got in faster than the rest. It's worth the wait regardless, but this one can back up quick.

But as a random person, we didn't really have a bad experience. Magic Kingdom is not an amusement park, it's a theme park. Rides are basic, but I think it's so every guest can have the same experience. Easy to stop and go if you need to get on the ride in an untraditional way. Completely overpriced though, which is why my wife and I have been together for 22 years and this was the first time we went to Disney in that time. If we didn't spend more on lightning lane passes, we would not have had a good day. I feel you can do whatever you want here. People cut in line, push past others, talk through all the instructions and rides. Some weird woman just recited the entire Haunted Mansion introduction, because with main character syndrome, she wanted to ruin the experience for everyone else? I feel I enjoy Marvel and Star Wars more than most other properties and I still think Disney has catching up to do with Universal Studios. It's a better world over there. There is a lot of Disney "Magic" though. You have to pay for it, but like Disney, you throw enough money at a problem and it does appear better.

I thought maybe that was because this ride opened around the same time as the movie in 1989. However, I was a bit surprised to learn after the fact that this ride actually opened 23 years after the movie, in late 2012. On the ride, you board clamshells that take you on an adventure under the sea. Pretty much all the characters from the movie make an appearance and the ride is filled with Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's popular songs like "Part of Your World," "Under the Sea," "Poor Unfortunate Souls," and "Kiss the Girl." The "Under the Sea" song and dance segment is bright and colorful. It reminds me of going to E.T.'s planet in the E.T. Adventure ride at Universal Studios. It's a festive party; both rides have that neon-colored, crowded "creature party" aesthetic. During our visit, the animatronic Ariel in this section was broken and inanimate. Kind of funny and creepy. During the "Kiss the Girl" segment, the plastic water coming out of the fishes' mouths didn't look great. It added to the overall sort of "knock-off" and kitschy look of the ride. Also, right before the end of the final scene with King Triton and the wedding of Ariel and Eric, the ride stopped on us. So, I was able to get a good, long look at the different animatronics and scenery. Finally, I thought the transitions between the high-quality video and the actual practical physical ride props were a bit jarring. Other rides do it better like, for example, the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros at EPCOT. We had Lightning Lane passes at around 1:47 PM on a non-holiday Monday and experienced no line and no wait.

It is a slow moving ride that goes on a flat track and will move your clamshell 365 degrees, as well as going backwards and tipping backwards as well. It does not spin fast and as someone who gets motion sickness, you should be fine. The seat has a lap bar for the entire row and is not comfortable at all. It is a very hard bench. I find this ride becoming more of a favorite probably since it is super cute and the line is never very long. The line can get long at times, but I recommend waiting until the wait drops below 20 minutes. The line starts outside which has little shade and is very hot in the summer, but then moves inside, where the majority of the line is. Inside it is covered and much cooler. It is actually really dark inside and my eyes always have to adjust. This ride is very colorful, very musical and very fun. If you know this movie, you are going through the story quickly. There are a few dark areas throughout the ride as well as a couple of loud parts. This rides also "stops" as well. There is not a time we have been on this that it did not have a stop for a a minute or so. This ride is designed for children, however, as an adult, it is becoming a favorite of mine. It is nice long ride, that you can sit and relax. This is a must go in the summer for us! Cool, AC, sitting down, sign me up! I would recommend this ride but only when the line is 20 minutes or less. Otherwise, wait and come back later.

At daylight hours, the tower is quite nice. However, when evening arrives with lights like the lanterns from the movie, the entire atmosphere changes and becomes much more immersive! Although this area contains themed restrooms, there is no indication that they are bathrooms! This is not your average restroom stop in Magic Kingdom though! There are details throughout the area including Pascal hiding within some of the design elements, wanted posters of Flynn Rider and many other small details to give off the idea that this is essentially a mini Tangled town. I heard the hype about Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and was definitely worried as going to try this ride without the Lightning Pass would be a bad idea. But turns out even though coming into the park around 930, the wait was only 35 minutes? Perhaps I was lucky or everyone was bolting to Tron but the wait went by really quick and was glad to not need to buy the lightning pass. The setting is nice and for the kids, they won't get too bored waiting as there's Snow White Decor everywhere to keep them occupied. Ride quality was very close in my opinion to Thunder Mountain with the wooden roller coaster ride (except without the rumbling of Thunder Mountain we all know of) and the length was about right for a medium roller coaster. Would I wait this line again for this ride? Not a problem with me and I'll definitely keep this ride as one of my many go-tos when visiting Magic Kingdom.
