I waited on the standby line for 1.5 hours and it was quite brutal (pros was it was at night which was well worth it but cons was I missed the night parade unfortunately), so if you are willing to pay to bypass the wait, it's probably worth it. The ride itself was amazing as you really feel like you're on a light cycle riding in the sky and DEFINITELY worth doing so at night with all the lights and immersion. Personally not my favorite ride and the line is unbelievably long. The ride is so, so short too. Nothing overly exciting to see in the queue and there is a moment you reach lockers to store bags and loose items. This causes a shake up in the line with some folks falling further back due to the time needed to store their items. I wasn't able to ride the Tron bike and had to sit in the lap bar area, which is located in the back. My son almost had the same issue. We don't tend to have issues with other ride seats but this one isn't kind to those with thicker legs. I wasn't embarrassed and deflated, which isn't a common feeling at Disney. While I hated to be separated from my family, at least I was able to ride after waiting in line. Cool, but not cool enough for a 2 hr wait. No single rider lines. read more

Fully immersive theme of tron battle bikes! Theres model bikes near the outdoor start of the lines! Harness lockdown is via a back clamp that comes down to hold you clamped into a motorcycle riding position when you pull the handle bars in! Luckily we were able to get in there fairly quick when we went. Like everyone else we hit space mountain then exited and hit tron up the hill. I thought it was quick and fun you can definitely raise your hands "up" but more like superman than a traditional rollercoaster. There is ada cart as well for those wondering, it looks like a traditional cart rather than a motorcycle! Not too crazy or gut dropping but a very quick 60mph ride with some swirls. This was my first time riding Tron Lightcycle Run! It's a relatively short ride (roughly 40 secs-1min), with a max speed of ~60mph. Didn't experience crazy wait time LUCKILY, though we were definitely expecting it haha. It was around a 20-30 min wait, similar waiting time for most of the rides we went on this day. Thought this ride was pretty unique, as there are no seat belts for the motorbike seats but they do have back + leg restraints that are engaged by leaning forward and pulling the handles to hold you in! Found it to be a tame & smooth ride. Towards the end, it felt like something was missing? I think I would've enjoyed it even more if they had added a few more tracks but nonetheless, still a very fun & exhilarating ride! read more

What an experience! If you are an adrenaline junkie, you will really enjoy this ride. You sit as if you are on a motorcycle. The seat holds you tightly in. For many, it is too tight. Based on your size, when the bar is locked, it can cause pain in your calves as it is too tight. There is no time to tell anyone because the ride starts immediately after. Leaning forward on the bike as you race through the neon lights in the darkness makes for a thrilling ride. However, it is not a good ride for those who experience motion sickness. Be sure to remove anything that may fall out of your pocket and definitely do not wear a hat (if you want to keep it). read more

A long long line during the holidays... snaking back and forth and they had only partial cover from sun through the first hour or so of waiting. Worth waiting 2+ hrs for? No, not in my opinion. Get the passes if you can or come on a less busy time. The blasting cycle of music didn't really help it as it repeated and wore you down a lot. The night view was more cool - lighting is impressive. It's a quick ride, and not 100% sure I would ride it again. It's not a bad ride where you lean over and see some of the interesting light cycle design and story to start, but felt like you end on a weird jarring note.. fixing the virus and then... it's done. Could've had one more section to help close it out as a story. Lockers inside were helpful, though, in and out on different sides and can be locked using your ticket card/Disneyband. read more

This was my first time on Tron. My group had an early start and were in the parking lot 35 mun before park opened, rode the monorail to Magic Kingdom as line was decent, and got in the park 6 min before official opening time. By 9 am we were in line for Tron after a quick walk. It look is about 25 min to get to the front to ride Tron. It was a smoother ride than I was expecting and did not aggravate my sore lower back. I would definitely ride again, especially if wait time is 45 min or less. read more

It's been 10 years since my last trip to DisneyWorld, and before today, Space Mountain was my favorite ride in Tomorrowland... until I rode Tron. It makes sense why people wait 50-90 mins minimum to ride Tron. The attraction has "players" riding on a motorbike (same seat design as the Avatar Flight of Passage) as lightcycles at a maximum speed of 60 mph with a series of twists and turns. It runs inside and out and provides locker spaces for your tidbits. Unfortunately, the ride is quick and by the time you get to fully enjoy the ride, you're back to where you started. read more

I love the concept of this ride, with all the neon colors flashing out in the dark. This ride isn't too bad when compared to other coasters, making it a good choice for someone who might be a bit scared. But then again, not necessarily something I would recommend to someone prone to motion sickness. I do think the way you sit in the ride, kneeling and leaning forward as if on a motorcycle makes the drops less scary though! read more

Hands down the fastest ride I've ever experienced at Magic Kingdom. Tron Lightcycle Run is like riding a motorcycle and not seated upright so the user really feels that 60 mph rush! One of the newer rides at Magic Kingdo and worth the wait which you're going to do either way. It's way shorter with the lightning pass but that's true with all rides. There are very long lines at this ride just comes down to how long you want to wait. That being said, it's a cool build up as far as the way in, the music, the process etc. they have lockers before the ride which you to have use for any loose items and bags. Even the build up from there is very cool and works well with the ride. At one point you get to see how the ride starts. It's a unique ride and you have to kneel and then pull on some handle bars. There's a test one on the way in to see if you are able to fit and make you familiar with it. It starts out and keeps going pretty fast, I believe hitting 60 mph at some point. read more

I rode it 2x, once in the back row (bike), once in the middle back row (bike), didn't care for the car. Free lockers are available. If it's just your phone, you could always just use the storage compartment on the bike, which doesn't lock FYI. You can easily flip it open as the ride begins; however, once you start going fast, the G-Forces keep it shut. No worries. read more

You can now wait in the standby line. They keep you pretty entertained and informed leading up to the actual ride. There will be lockers for you to stored your bags and any loose items. Those lockers are opened and closed using your MagicBand or park ticket. The ride itself i fairly short. If you are planning to ride it only once, I would suggest riding it at night. This ride is the reason we were excited to go to Disney World Magic Kingdom. We were fortunate enough to do early entry because we stayed at a hotel that partnered with the resort. We bee lined it to the TRON entrance right after rope drop. We got in line at around 8:10 and were able to walk off the ride by 8:56. This ride was similar to Space Mountain, but cooler because of the motorcycle feature. We also enjoyed the photos and videos that we got from it. It's rides like TRON that make the Disney magic so special! read more

Love this ride! Such a fun addition to add a more thrill ride option at Magic Kingdom. I never have a magicband though, so I never get my ride photo in the app. It's also a plus that once you trek up the hill half-way to Tron there is a bathroom there to stop at before you get in the queue. I do love that they have gone to straight lighting lane for Tron vs trying to get into boarding groups. With the lightening lane I waited far less than with the previous boarding group timing situation. It's a super neat concept to ride the roller coaster on a motorcycle vs being in a traditional seat. A rather INSANELY FUN ride but I will say it's ridiculously short. I do love everything about it, from the design to the launches on the ride! You rocket off to the outside and it's so much fun! It's like the rockin Rollercoaster launch but crazier! The visuals of the ride are stunning and it really feels like you were transported into the world of Tron and onto the grid to battle the villans! The ride is a lot of fun and you sit as if you're riding a bike. The area you place your shins is a little uncomfortable if you're tall or boney so I had to knock a star off for that as well as the length of the ride is way to short for something that has been in the making for years! The cast members are insanely friendly and help you with everything from putting your bags in the mandatory lockers to the helping of you onto the bikes to get ready for the ride. Overall a great ride that if you're lucky enough to score a boarding pass for you'll enjoy for sure! read more

Okay so hear me out, its a good coaster. I don't think it's the best Disney Coaster on WDW property by any means, but it is a good coaster. For me the ways this falls short, far outweigh any of positives. Namely because for a ride that took more than 6 years to build, you are on it for less than 2 min. So I'll break it down to a pros and cons list Pros: -Something for teens and adults thats more thrilling than Space Mtn -Its. a really cool design - love the indoor/outdoor element. And its a beautiful addition to the parks sight-lines. the interior aesthetics are really cool too. I'm not a huge Tron movie fan but for me the visuals of the fils a re really unique and appealing. -the seat is unique and you really feel safe even of you don't want to hold on - I could however see someone with extreme claustrophobia having an issue with this seat style. -the free lockers are a great addition but i don't love that they are mandatory in the style of Universal Cons: -It goes down often. I have only ever ridden this once and thats because we paid to do it - $18 per person in our group (outside of Genie+) , and even then, we almost didn't get to because that day alone it went down 4 times. The other few times we just could not get on. So just know going in it may not happen for you and don't let it ruin your day. -while i've never had this experience, I could imagine riding this in the cooler months or during a cold front (because Orlando can in fact get quite cold occasionally) it may be kind of uncomfortable to get hit like a ton of bricks with freezing cold air at a high speed -I hate the virtual queue system because even when you pay to do it, you still have to wait in line. Also you may get called back during a dining reservation which is just bad luck but theres not a guaranteed solution if that happens. Apparently they have since removed this but at the time I was last there, it was in place still. -If it rains it does go down - Disney really needs to implement more rides that do not go down in rain across all parks. -for a comically long wait, there is every chance it may go down while you in line and you do not get any kind of compensation. If it doesn't go down then the ride again is super short -If you have any claustrophobia, you may not love the seat. I do, and it is not an issue for me but I know it can be for friends of mine -If you pay to get on it you should have a guarantee that you get to ride it. Especially at more than $15 for a ride that lasts 2 min. I would only ever do that once. I'll never do it again. For a ride that took more than 6 years to build (and considering it is a carbon copy of a preexisting ride) establishing what seems to be a new norm for the company, they could have expanded the track to make it a longer experience. Since they did not, at the end of the day its a good coaster but it's not worth ruining your day over if you can't get on it for whatever reason and I honestly don't think it's worth paying your way onto either. read more

Now that the hype has died down a bit, we can sort of step back and really look at what makes Tron special and what doesn't. I've only experienced the Lightning Lane queue, and it's fun to see the curtain lifted, so to speak, as one of the trains takes off and then you are pretty much headed down the ramp to your vehicle. The queue that opens up at 7 AM can be a solid option but just know you have to be lightning fast in order to get it, like within 5-10 seconds of 7 AM, which is just nuts. Nothing beats the views as you walk up the ramp and hear 20 or so guests screaming their heads off as they were just launched right out in front of you. Clearly, this is the best part of the ride and is a solid launch given the motorcycle style position you are seated in, it definitely feels faster than it likely is. But after the launch, there is ZERO air time, even if you are sitting in the back of the train. Sure, you wind around in a building for a bit going through your energy gates but they really could have added some surprise elements within this section to really bring the entire ride over the top. It's maybe a minute overall of this winding back and forth in the dark and then it just abruptly ends. I really wish they would have put more time and energy into the "feel" you get within your bike vs. just showcasing the incredible launch that leads to a letdown for the rest of the ride. I give this 3.5 stars but am rounding up because of how good the launch is and it will continue to bring me back to ride again and again. I don't know if they can ever make more improvements throughout the ride, but it is still lacking a special something to make turn it into another Guardians ride in EPCOT. read more

In the morning you join the virtual queue on the Disney app and you will get a group number and a time range to come back to the ride so you can still enjoy the rest of the park. There are lockers for you to put your stuff in and you wait in line until you get on the ride. The seat is a motorcycle so you will get strapped into motorcycle position and it's just so sleek and cool. The ride is fast and fun and my only complaint is that it's not long enough! read more

TRON Lightcycle / Run is a gorgeous addition to the Magic Kingdom. After five years of slow construction, this coaster opened as the fast ride at Walt Disney World. TRON is a totally unique ride, with its motorcycle (called Lightcycle by Disney) ride vehicle, interior projection mapping, Daft Punk music and more. That being said, it is pretty short. Clocking in under 60 seconds, this coaster is all about speed. Exhilarating, fantastic music and great views, but just know that the experience is a short one. For now, you will need a virtual queue reservation to ride (which is a bit of a pain) and then 30-75 minute average wait once you arrive (yes, even with the Virtual Queue). The ride also sells quick queue pass, known as a Lightning Lane, for about $15-20 a person (the price fluctuates per day). Overall, this ride looks incredible at day and stunning at night. The music is fantastic, it offers great thrill and many kids can ride it. But, it is short and Disney's virtual queue is an annoying part of the process. read more

Get your alarms ready! It's time to virtual queue for TRON Lightcycle Run at 7:00 A.M, if you're booked reservations for Magic Kingdom! This is one of the coolest rides at Magic Kingdom! I was able to book 2 different virtual queues for TRON Lightcycle during memorial day week. You'll need the Disney World mobile application logged in and linked with your account. From there, you can join the virtual queue. Recommendation would be to refresh it consistently around the 7:00 A.M start time! Once you get in the queue and your boarding number is called, it's typically about an hour in line wait, outside and inside the Tron Lightcycle building. Lockers are required for larger items. You'll put your items in on one side and pick up your items after the ride. It's extremely convenient the way Disney built out the locker system. TRON Lightcycle run is fast! There is a height requirement for 48'' to ride. There are big drops and it is in the dark during some of the ride. The ride is like a bike where you'll sit in with your body on the bike. It will immediately launch you 60+ mph into the outdoor canopy. We only rode it during the day, both times, but I could imagine how beautiful it must be during the evening hours. There are no inversions or loops on this ride. The drops are not as intense as Mount Everst in Animal Kingdom! If you don't get in the Virtual Queue, Disney does offer a purchase lightning lane. Prices do vary, but during Memorial day week, the prices were around $20 per person. If this is your first time at Disney World and Magic Kingdom, this is a must do ride! read more

I loved this ride! Guardians of the Galaxy is my favorite for music & comfort, and Tron is the best for speed & excitement. After waiting an hour in line after having our group called, getting on the cycle was easier than anticipated. Getting off was a little harder for uncoordinated me. Before getting to the cycle, we got digitized, and then put everything in a free locker (take a photo of the number if you want to be sure you recall it after the ride). On the cycle, a small compartment holds your phone and glasses. I did not want to take a chance that my glasses would not come off. It's a fast ride. I felt safe on the ride, and totally exhilarated. This was coaster credit 418 for me and what a good one it was as this ride is incredible as your laying down on the cycle and your basically flying through the grid at a fast speed racing the red team to the finish line! The visuals for this coaster are amazing it's super well themed and just a experience like no other roller coaster out there!
