Many gems can be found hiding in strip malls but unfortunately Spanish Potato Grill isn't one. We ordered two of the evening specials which were $29 and $31 respectively. The place was busy so it took a while for our plates to come out of the kitchen. The first was a chicken dish which was a generous portion but bland, over cooked and looked like it had sat too long under the warming light. I could not get a servers attention to return it. The second was a polvo a lagarerio which was tasty and a good portion. When the server finally came to clear our plates, without ever having stopped by to check on our meal, I commented on my dry uneaten chicken. We were offered a complementary desert but that really didn't make up for a sub-par dinner. Surprisingly, there were no refills on the iced tea and lemonade so we spent over $10 for beverages. read more

1st time ordering from the Spanish Potato Grill and it did NOT disappoint!!! Ordered 1/2 tray of the Seafood Paella. Picked it up and it was piping hot! Full of mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops, and lobster tails. The rice was cooked perfectly and the meal over all was seasoned very well. It fed 4 adults! This was our second time at Spanish Potato Grill. We had an excellent meal for my father's birthday and were waited on by the very attentive and kind John. When he heard that it was my father's birthday, all the waiters came out signing with a pastel de nata. I had the black Sea bass special which was delicious and had a clever hint of coconut milk in the sauce. My dad had the wild boar special since he loved it the first time. Just " discovered" this terrific restaurant via a friend of mine that suggested we have dinner there. Located in a strip mall, it looks very tiny from the outside, but is spacious , elegant, and inviting on the inside. We settled on the shrimp over rice, which was served to us by both Artie and a colleague at tableside. Where is this type of service found anymore? So glad they moved to a bigger place. The lines at the old place were just ridiculous. The food here is delicious and authentic. Must haves are the octopus, chorizo and of course the garlic shrimp. Seafood dishes are great. The lobsters are always fresh and cooked how you like them (I'm not a big fan of broiled). There's always a great special or four to choose from. If the "Lobster Sinatra" is on that day, get it! Miss their awesome prime rib. My go to dessert is tiramisu. There's was as good as anywhere I've been. read more

This was one of my favorite places to take my mom when visiting. Last night my wife asked for filet mignon and the waitress said we only have surf and turf, so she asked if she can have just the filet and she went to check with the chef. The chef said sure, when we received our check we were charged $52 for the 8oz filet, this was the same price for the surf and turf. I questioned her and she told me that was how she was told to ring it. This was also the first time we walked in and the place was pretty empty. Bottom line is we paid full price fir surf and turf without the surf. $170 for 3 people drinking water because it's a byob. Don't go to this restaurant, we never will again. read more

Wish that we could give this place more than 5 stars. We love Portuguese and Spanish cuisine and absolutely LOVED this place. We were greeted by Paula, who was very attentive and kind. She made us delicious red sangria from our bottle of Cabernet. We started with the crab meat stuffed mushrooms and garlic shrimp. Both were outstanding! The mushrooms were tender and the crab meat stuffing delicious all topped with an incredible tasting wine? sauce! The garlic shrimp were amazing too, they had a bit of a kick, which we both loved. We were given delicious warm Portuguese bread and used that bread to soak up every bit of the outstanding garlic sauce! For our meal, my husband requested an exception to the menu and had the shrimp in a mariscada style red sauce. The saffron rice and Portuguese potatoes provided along side his entree were wonderful. While the shrimp were delicious, he may request a kick of spice on our next visit. I ordered the sautéed pork, clams and potatoes. The pork was tender and lean, the clams were cooked to perfection and the potatoes were soft and flavorful and served in a delicious rich brown sauce. There were additional Gardiena style vegetables in the dish which I've have not had from other Portuguese restaurants. For me, I would likely order this same dish again without these vegetables. They neither enhanced nor detracted from the dish in my humble opinion. As it was my husbands birthday, we ordered a piece of chocolate mousse cake for dessert. It was served with raspberry sauce and whipped cream and was much lighter than it looked, which was perfect since we had filled ourselves with so much delicious food for dinner. A special TY to the chef and the staff who made my husband's birthday amazing. Thank you for singing to my husband for his birthday and for providing the cake on the house. The WORST SERVICE I have EVER had in my entire life!!!!! It took over 1.5 hours to get our food. We had to flag down a manager just to get our salads after an hour. Then, my mother's entree was brought out alone, and the other two of us had to wait and flag down the manager (again) to ask about ours. When ours arrived, they were both partially cold. The server never brought us the requested water (x2). I had to interrupt her while she was busy chatting to ask for our check, then she walked away with my credit card and didn't return for 20 minutes (and again I had to flag down the manager). During this time, the server was clearing places, bringing other people dessert and chatting some more. All with my credit card in her apron. This was the first time in my life I left only 10% tip on a $100 check. Complained at least three times to the manager and wasn't even offered a dessert as an apology. We ordered the potato appetizer, it easily could feed more than four. It was very tasty. I ordered a steak with mushroom sauce special, my husband the South African prawns, our friends ordered paella and seafood and pasta. Therefore if i order a special and ask for a dessert i must have seen it on your email and you should automatically charge me $3.00. My husband and I enjoy this restaurant every time we go- the shrimp with garlic and flaming chorizo appetizers are tasty and delicious. You can also get the shrimp and garlic sauce as a dinner complete with rice and thin sliced Spanish potatoes. The soup offered to each diner prior to their meal is the Portuguese answer to pasta fagioli- delicious! Our server was Sara and she was attentive and friendly. Everyone was pleased with their meals. We started with two appetizers, Chorizo Flambiado and Shrimp in Garlic sauce. All meals get the traditional Portuguese soup so appetizers may not be needed. For our meal we had the following; Carne Alentejo, Colas de Lagosta, Mariscada for two, Portuguese Steak and Penne Vodka.
