We drive from across town for this pizza, and it is still worth it every time. My wife ordered a thin-crust pepperoni with green olives. I got a medium hand-tossed pepperoni and Italian sausage. Both pies came out looking exactly like they should: bubbling cheese, good sauce-to-topping balance, and crust that actually tastes like something instead of cardboard. Hers stayed crisp on the thin crust; mine had that slightly chewy, well-baked hand-tossed edge. We both said the same thing we always say here -- this is some of the best pizza in Houston.

I stopped by Spanky's Pizza earlier this month and ordered a pizza and an order of Tator Kegs. I was especially excited about the Tator Kegs because I hadn't had them since eating at 54th Street in San Antonio. The pizza was tasty. The ingredients tasted fresh, and everything was prepared well. I would definitely come back again for the pizza. The sad part is that I never got around to eating the Tator Kegs. They sat in my fridge a little too long and I ended up having to throw them away. I'll have to order them again on my next visit.

(+) Their pizza is great when you eat it hot (+) Nice space inside with plenty of seating (+) There is an area in the back for larger parties (+) Servers were very accomodating for our large group (-) Pizza does not keep well and is not good when popped into the microwave next day (unfortunate) I've had Spanky's a few times from this location for my kiddos' school's spirit nights. Thank y'all for supporting the community! Enjoyed my first dine-in visit and I'm sure we'll be back again down the road.

This was good and I enjoyed it though it was not quite as expected. I ordered the pepperoni pizza based off the pictures I saw online where it looked really good and really cheesy. When it arrived, I immediately could tell that the pizza was different from what I saw in the pictures. It definitely was cheesy and covered with pepperonis, but I feel like they definitely over baked it. The cheese as can be seen in the picture turned brown because they probably left it in the oven a little too long and had more of a crunchy texture as opposed to a soft cheesy texture like what I was expecting and what they advertised online. This of course affected the taste to where I feel like it wasn't as flavorful because it was over baked so that was disappointing. However, I will say that it was still good, especially when I reheated it later. My first impression was that it was just pretty decent but once I reheated it I did truly enjoy it so I overall liked this pizza. I just wish that it was not over baked when I got it so that definitely negatively impacted my experience. We also got some wings that were just okay as well. I think I would try here again and just maybe specify that I don't want the pizza to be overly baked because I do see the potential on it being really good though that wasn't quite my experience this time.

The Spanky's restaurant chain is decent. They have hip old school diner vibe set clash in with Texas decoration. I did enjoy my pizza and the service was decent.

The food here was really good. The moment we walked in, I could tell it was going to be a cute spot. It gave comfort food vibes and wasn't too crowded. The pizza was good and the chicken wings were okay. We were greeted immediately and our server was really nice. We did have to wait almost 30 minutes for dessert to come out, but overall, cute spot. I would definitely go back.

We grew up eating Spanky's at Astroworld and the original location on Telephone Rd., so we decided to check out the location in Sharpstown for Father's Day. The restaurant is nice and spacious and it has a nice patio area. The service was average, our waitress checked on us frequently. The wings were good but they only come in one flavor, which is buffalo. We had the large Super Duper pizza, which had a lot of toppings but the pizza sauce wasn't seasoned so it made the pizza taste bland. The Watermelon Margarita was disappointing. It tasted like it was made with powder so it was tangy. I would go back try the Philly Cheesesteak.

The place looks so clean and bigger than the one in Pasadena. Lots of natural lighting. The service was amazing, very attentive, the food was amazing as well. The toast on the club sandwich want too burnt.

I have always driven by Spanky's and never quite felt a pull to come in to try their food but my cousin and her family told me this is their favorite place to try pizza so I decided to try. Walking in, I was surprised by how large it was. We decided to sit outside since the weather was so nice and it was kinda chilly inside. We got fried pickles for an appetizer and were pleasantly surprised by how big the portions were. The pickles themselves were cut very finely and fried perfectly where it was light and airy. We got 2 thin, medium pizzas - spinach and garlic & the special which is like a supreme pizza (Italian sausage, pepperoni, beef, green pepper, mushroom, & onion). The medium is 13 inches and is the perfect size for sharing. The pizzas were fantastic and not overly salty, perfectly crispy with just the right amount of toppings. I liked how it came out in raised platters that allow the oil to drain into so the pizzas don't get soggy with time, that was really thought out. Service was great and attentive. All in all, a great spot!

I've always seen this restaurant from the highway and decided to stop to try it. Parking can be tight and the parking lot out front is small but there are spaces on the side and behind the restaurant. This place is very spacious inside and we were seated right away. While our waiter was slow, she was very friendly and accommodating. The menu options were great and we opted for the Philly cheesesteak, spaghetti, pizza, fried mushrooms, and fried cheesy tater tots. The food came out hot and quick and was tasty. Will definitely return again.

They offer affordably priced…read morefood (#1), simple and tasty casual fare, and keep it relatively flexible for all folks (dates, families, group dining, etc.) by providing excellent service, and a consistent experience every time. Similarly to their more popular location in Memorial (#2), this outside of this Bellaire spot doesn't immediately tell the full story. The interior has an industrial vibe, with the high ceilings and overhead fixtures, but as converted into a solid dining space. The large tilted mirrors in the main area are reminiscent of the now defunct Helen's (#3) and makes for a fun (or perhaps distracting) visual. The spacious layout allows breathing room for all kinds of groups. Service has been good overall, and prompt throughout every visit. The American bistro inspired menu has a decent amount of variety that spans from brunch to a tasty weeknight dinner and a drink. Their starters have a variety of tasty bites that include the white truffle eggs, wicked wings, prosciutto-melon burrata, Mama Pauley's meatballs, and a very addicting chipotle pimento cheese dip. While I appreciate the vegan-friendly hippie chickpea croquettes, it needed just a bit more seasoning. Their bacon double cheeseburger has been deemed "insta-famous" and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's juicy, a little messy, but a lot delicious. It paired well with their large cut fries (consider upgrading to the truffle fries), but the house made chips are also a good light bite. Their salads are equally fabulous from their classic caesar to a hearty cobb salad. I wasn't as impressed with the crunchy Asian salad, but thought their faro salad was a thumbs up. Understandably, the priciest meals are some of their grilled and house specialty meals, such as a prime tenderloin filet ($42), Mediterranean roasted redfish ($36), twelve hour ribs ($29), and rosemary-lemon chicken ($29), all of which are solid. I feel the buttermilk chicken tender platter ($19) is really meant for children, but is great for any tender lover in the bunch. Their weekly "features" are a series of daily specials that range from prime rib nights on Wednesdays and ribeyes on Thursdays, and "kids eat free" specials + their happy hour give folks plenty of reason to check it out. ___________ ( #1) Especially during their seasonal deals which can sometimes include steep discounts.
