Breakfast Skillet-$17 and Cobb Salad w/ Turkey-$18
Mikhael W.

The food is tasty, had some interesting incorporated flavors, we just kind of got bored eating it after the 4th or 5th bite. The dressing on my Cobb salad with grilled chicken was very heavy so I couldn't tell if my lettuce was wilted or not. Didn't taste very fresh. Service was nice. Again, I'd go back if I lived nearby, but I wouldn't make a special trip. It was a full house that Thursday morning so this place isn't going anywhere any time soon. Good for them! That's all folks!

Very spacious spot and great service. The best thing we ordered was the breakfast skillet. Well seasoned, get your eggs however you like. Maybe a little on the greasy side. Everything else was a tragic failure. The shrimp and grits here used to be a banger but now it is very small - like a scoop of grits. The shrimp was over cooked and tasted old. The manager did a pretty good job of replacing my dish although the replacement was cheaper than my original meal and think they should have refunded me the difference. The replacement was fine - turkey avocado sandwich as there is only a small threshold for failure however the homemade chips were inedible. They tasted like freezer and were varying degrees of salty. Some were salted to the point of disgust and some not at all and the chips were soft. 0 crunch Just completely unacceptable. Attentive service - pretty bad food.

I came early and that was the best decision. It was nice and quiet walking in, and the ambience is very mellow and calm. If you're like me and don't enjoy big crowds first thing in the morning, this is the perfect breakfast spot. I You order at the counter, then choose your own seating, which I actually love because there's no awkward waiting around. It makes the experience feel relaxed and on your own time. I ordered the traditional breakfast and a waffle. The traditional breakfast was solid -- classic, filling, and exactly what you expect when you want something dependable and cozy. The waffle was warm and lightly crisp on the outside, soft inside, and hit the sweet spot without being overly heavy. And the mimosa? So good. Light, refreshing, and the perfect brunch addition.

I ordered the Citrus glazed salmon (with glaze on side) and a butter brown chocolate cookie for delivery. The fish was very delicious! The salmon was cooked perfectly and was a decent size. The sauce was great and made everything come together. What I wanted more of was the quinoa. I didn't take a picture of the cookie but I warmed it up in the microwave for 15 seconds and devoured it! That was one of the best chocolate cookies I have had and wished I ordered more than one!

The service was super quick. I loved all the drink options. The avocado toast was good but was lacking some flavor. My boyfriend got the chicken biscuits and gravy and it was very tasty! Overall we had a good experience for Saturday brunch!

This is a true gem! After church a few weeks ago we were on the hunt for a new brunch spot. After a quick search on Yelp, Dish Society won the vote. We were greeted warmly at the front and ushered to the order line. I'm typically a pancake girly but I love skillets so went with that. Excellent flavor, mixture of sweet and savory plus it came out hot. My friend had the chicken sandwich and her niece had French toast. They both raved about how good it was. Here's the gold: the greeter came over to check on us and because it was our first time, she offered us a complimentary order of beignets!!! Interior was clean, bathrooms were tidy and the noise level was decent. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Houston.

First time here with my friend and daughter. It's in a very nice part of the neighborhood. It was a hot day and we sat at the patio and it was ok. Food was great... we had the smoked salmon avocado toast, beignets and matcha latte. Love it all. Reasonably priced too.

Stopped in here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The place was not packed at all and I love that, most spots are normally full to the brim around 10:30am on a Saturday. It's an order at the register type of establishment, and they bring the food to the table after. The restaurant is really spacious and the bar is pretty nice with a nice back bar. I ordered the Texas Hot Chicken Sandwich. The sandwich was quite flavorful and the pretzel bun was a good touch. There was a slaw on there that made it quite juicy and was not off putting. The fries were super crisp and delicious as well. I also picked up a brown butter chocolate chunk cookie. It wasn't the freshest and had a bit of an artificial taste on the palette. Not the best cookie. My SO ordered the traditional breakfast as well as a side pancake. This was quite subpar. The fruit cup wasn't the freshest. The sausage and eggs were a typical breakfast, think Dennys, and the pancake was flat and quite flavorless. We ordered the Breakfast Shot and a Prickly Pear mimosa as well. The breakfast shot was so large it was basically a drink. More of a dessert style shot with maple syrup, super sweet, and not really up my alley. The prickly pear mimosa was mostly bubbles and lacked a prickly pear taste profile. More so just like a "fruit" mimosa. Overall this would be a nice place to grab a quick bite for brunch, I may have to revisit for a lunch/dinner to experience the food then as well.

1/2 chicken kale Caesar

Ordering was smooth & efficient. Bar - not so. This is the second time we've been disappointed that their beer taps are not working & personnel seemed disinterested Food was served promptly & pleasantly & was tasty. Just take out the taps if they are not going to be maintained - frustration. Also, there's a gnat problem on the patio - unfortunate. Love the location, food is good, y'all can do better!

Brunch goals = achieved. I stopped by Dish Society for a chill brunch and ended up low-key obsessed. I ordered the steak and eggs with an iced matcha, and everything hit perfectly. The steak was juicy and seasoned just right, the eggs were fluffy, and the biscuit was fresh and dangerously good...like, "why didn't I order extra?" good. The iced matcha? Smooth, balanced, and not too sweet. It's giving "calm luxury" in a cup. Service was friendly and quick, and the whole place has this relaxed-but-polished energy . perfect for catching up with friends.

Wasn't really a fan of their menu options, but came here on an invite. Ordering was easy, and the place was roomy with clean tables. I ordered their shrimp and grits and it was good, but way too heavy on the sauce. I could barely taste the grits.

First time visiting Dish Society. We walked in and was immediately greeted by Maddie. She was just the sweetest, kindest greeter. She asked if we have been here before and we mentioned it was our first time. She told us to grab a menu and then order at the front. The menu had a TON of options and they all looked and sound amazing. The customer service all around, from Maddie, to the two gentlemen taking orders, to the workers bringing the food and the bussers. Customer service was tier one. Now, let's get to the food. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!!!! OMG!!! I had the Texas Hot Chicken with fries, and it was hands down one of the best hot chicken sandwiches I've ever had. I can't wait to come back. My niece had the Nutella French Toast and she loved her food as well. All around 10/10. Maddie, thank you for making this experience amazing. You and your team deserve recognition because you made our first experience one that I won't forget.

Thankfully, Mark was there and initially was told a 35 minute wait but seemed intent by quicker. Ambiance: 4/5 It was breakfast time so of course it was a busy time. For my visit, it was crowded but not to where you couldn't hear your table. Dress is casual, good for friends, solo, or pit stop. Service: 5/5 Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. Since it was our first visit there, she gave us some background that it was a Pappa's owned restaurant and food is made from scratch. Food: 3/5 They offer mimosas and I was tempted to order, but was driving and it was 9AM so forewent that option. There are food options for every tastebud. Mark ordered the fried cheese sticks, they were one of the items that I found worthwhile to return for. I opted for the Waffle feast. It included a waffle, that I added pecans on top to, two strips of bacon, eggs your way and hash browns. To say that I needed to add salt and pepper to the eggs and hash browns because they tasted bland and flavorless was unfortunate. It also was served at room temperature, because it was made from scratch, would think it be warmer to hot. The waffle was savory and had good mix and topped with the pecans made it even better. If you're on this side of town and want a change up from the "other breakfast diners" DOT would be where I stop. Fast, friendly service. Depending the food you get, it gets the job done for some sustenance to hold you over when you're not sure when your next meal is because you'll be in Galveston for 7 hours riding a float in the Mardi Gras parade.

What I eventually found both surprised and delighted me, and Nate's gets a thumbs up overall. Pictures are deceiving as I thought the place would be larger but it's a tight fit for bigger groups. There are only a handful of tables but plenty of character. It's also a bit grimey, unsightly and even a tinge dodgey, which may be a deal breaker for others but is an immediate appeal to me. Two things immediately standout when it comes to the food: the portions and the prices are outstanding. The offerings are as no frills as the rest of the establishment. The other surprise was how much influence there was from Mexican cuisine. Hash browns were the goal, but chorizo and chilaquiles were the bonus. Another surprise? The hash browns weren't as crispy as I would have wanted. It's entirely plausible that I came on an off day, which happens. However everything else was on point as my chorizo skillet was absolutely dynamite, pancakes were fluffy and indulgent, breakfast tacos were outstanding, and my eggs were perfectly softly scrambled. Even the bacon and sausage patties were delicious, which is a tall order considering it's not likely made in house. Lastly, as someone who drinks cold water like it's a hobby (#1), I'm especially grateful for the massive 32 oz cup of water, which is perfect for someone who drinks like a camel. The staff is not the quickest but they are friendly. Spanish may go further with most and they're not the quickest when it comes to greeting folks or cleaning tables. The food is the star and consider paying in cash. ____________ (#1) I'm thirsty.

Mr. Picky ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp while I opted for Veal Parmigiana, and we each stole a bite from the other's plate. Seriously, we hadn't expected much when walking in and looking around, but were pleasantly surprised at the kitchen's efforts. We finished lunch with an order of homemade bread pudding and tiramisu, the latter of which in 2012 won a chamber of commerce epicurean competition 1st place ribbon. I wasn't there to judge that competition and have had better, but sincerely appreciated the moistness of the bread pudding. While the majority of diners were older and a more mature crowd, there's a lot to be said for value, and we thought the menu price was better than reasonable and I think a lot of people will discover this as a value destination, something we all appreciate.
