I used to go to the original Spanky's next door (many many years ago) and loved it. So we thought we would check out the new location. Let's just say it's not the same as the place I remembered so fondly. Two of us split the small (10") pizza and we had a slice and a half left over when we finished. It was obviously tasty enough since we ate most of it. Negatives would be that we ordered light sauce but the pizza was still covered in it; so much that the crust was too soggy to take home the few pieces we had left. In fact their was liquid (presumably from the sauce but not sure) rolling around the pizza pan when we were done. Next, we each had a side salad. The salad bowl had water in it as well. We both had to pour the water out of the salad bowl before we put the salad dressing on the salad. Even after trying to drain the salad's, the water in the bowl made the dressing watery, which didn't taste good. There was enough water that it filled a pizza plate. On to the next issue - the service was horrible! One server took our order, she brought our one drink and then we never saw her again. Someone else brought our salads, and someone else then brought our pizza. Not one time did anyone come by and ask how we were doing, did we need anything (and we needed water). When it was time to go we had to get up and ask for our bill. When the server noticed we did not drink much (less than half) of our drink she asked did we not like it. We explained we did not like it and had someone come by we could have let them know. She just said we are busy and walked away. And finally, we ordered a large top shelf margarita to share; neither of us wanted to finish it (which is why we needed a water refill); it did NOT taste "top shelf." It was certainly NOT worth $12 - I suggest you don't order the large until you try it and know you like it. The two stars rather than a one star is mostly for the crust and overall flavor of the pizza (I'd say the pizza itself is a 3 1/2 - 4 stars). They offer a thin crust, New York Style, deep dish, and wheat. We had the NY style and both of us loved it (he likes thin crust and I like deep, the NY is right in the middle). Although they put too much sauce on the pizza in our opinion, it is well prepared and tasted great. Unfortunately the negatives outweighed the positives here, enough that we won't go back and the rating is based on overall experience rather than the pizza alone. However, if you are in the area and really really like a lot of sauce on your pizza you might want to try it. But don't get the TS Margarita here, try a beer. read more

My sister and I chose here for a quick lunch. They moved buildings since the last time I've been here and it is a great improvement. There's more room in the restaurant but the tables is the same size so it still feels like your squished. The meal we ordered was some buffalo wings and a pepperoni pizza to share. The buffalo wings are really good to me, it reminds me of sticky wings with a good breeding. It's not spicy at all and it's very meaty. The pizza was a deep crust cooked to perfection. It had a crunch but it was still soft. The cheese was nice and cheesy but not to much. It was flavorful and not a typical pizza. Giving grace to most restaurants due to Covid but that doesn't mean your customer service has to suffer. The lady on the phone and the lady at the to go window were both curt as was the lady at the bar getting orders. They need better organization for take out. I gave 3 stars because the last time I came the food was pretty good. My favorite part of a Spanky's pizza is that familiar crust, cooked in an oiled pan so it actually fries up on bottom. We stopped here for a work lunch and it was much busier than I thought (it was 1:45 on a Thursday). We were greeted and seated quickly by a friendly waitress. The interior surprised me as it was an eclectic, trendy, vibe, mixing cultures. It was pretty loud as the place was almost full. For lunch we got the lunch special pizza for $6.95 with 3 toppings. The pizza was delicious! A super thin, crispy, crust (think thin crust from Pizza Hut) with high quality toppings and real mozzarella cheese. The pizza came out super hot & pretty quickly. We also got the lunch shrimp Alfredo and a side Caesar salad. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the Alfredo had a lot of flavor. Visited on a Tuesday, 4:30pm... I was greeted and seated immediately. However, it took the waitress 15 minutes to take my drink orders. Seemed like a possible shift transition, still that is no excuse. Plenty of people in uniform just hanging out at the bar sharing a few laughs. The restaurant must have had 6 tables seated, max. Finally after the waitress took my drink order, it was another 10 to 15 minutes before she took my food order. When the food finally came she practically threw the damn food at me.
