Mozzarella sticks fresh from the fryer but pizza a bit too greasy. Other than that, I like the atmosphere before the pandemic happened.

The pizza was sub par and the beer had gnats in it. Poorly ran. The service was decent.

Called at 10:58 pm and Stephanie answered the phone. I tried to place an order for pick-up but she told me they stop taking orders at 11:00 pm. She refused to take the order even though I called before 11. I understand it's late but if you are going to stop taking orders before 11 pm let your customers know! read more

WHAT?!? I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!! I realize that if a place is noisy as hell it should probably be for a good reason but there aren't many to be had at Spankys. Yes it's noisy. OMG it's noisy. It's like a Polish dinner noisy. People are yelling to hear one another and management has decided to crank up the music because that needs to be heard. And just when you think it's noisy enough, some jack hole has to have their Birthday here and out come the servers rattling silverware in a pitcher and singing. This pizza joint is missing a dancing rat and a place to cash in tokens. As for the food, how can you make a pizza sauce BLAND?!? Why would you do that? I literally spent a good 30 seconds trying to get enough red pepper to season my pizza. I got the meat lovers and I gave this review two stars because of the meat and cheese. My server was disinterested in serving me or distracted by the noise. The darkest beer was a Zigenbach and the fried pickles tasted like they were defrosted and fried. All in all, I will not be coming back. Again, 2 stars was for the meat and cheese and that's it. If you plan on coming to Spanky's, pack some ear buds and some seasoned salt. read more

A flight safety instructor recommended this place while I was in Houston for training. The wings are actually very meaty and large. I ordered a New York style crust with several toppings and it was fast, sauce was nicely seasoned, and exactly as ordered. I will return to try some of their other dishes. read more

I really wanted to give this place 4 stars just went here because my coworker always brag about this place. Right across from gulf gate shopping strip. No wait at all and came on a sat afternoon. I really love the atmosphere here including the nice wall decor and lights. So the popular item to get here is of course the pizza. Maybe I ordered the wrong crust or pizza . I ordered the large thin crust pepperoni and it was too flaky, runny and almost tasted like frozen pizza. But I'll give the pizza 3 out of 5. Maybe I need to visit again and try a different type of crust and other options on their menu. read more

Went here yesterday for lunch. I don't understand the good reviews at all. This is basically Pizza Hut thin crust pizza with less seasoned sauce. I've never in my life wanted to add salt on pizza, but this one was aching for it. As another commenter noted, I also needed to add red pepper just to give it enough flavor to eat. Stumbled across this place on accident and decided to try the vegetable lasagna. --and this is hands down the best restaurant lasagna I've ever tasted. The flavor is amazing and the portion is pretty big for one person. It is also very affordable! My bill was under $15 and I also got a frozen strawberry margarita that was also very huge and tasty! The food is good, let me start there, but the way they handle soft drinks and ice is unsanitary! I watched them dip reused cups to refill drink out of the ice bends! That means all the ice is contaminated, they were also scooping the ice with cups instead of the ice scooper! I only say my waitress use the ice scooper! That means that root beer drink that was barely poured out was reused as a ice scooper to give it back to the customer, it only makes me think what was going on in the kitchen!!! One of my favorite neighborhood spots!! The pizza is one of the best I've had! Mozzarella sticks are delicious as well as the meatballs. I come here about 1 or 2 times per week if not more. Pan pizza dough seems to be under cooked. It's still doughy on the middle. I've had it twice and twice it was like this. Best bet is to go with the thin crust. It's better. Same thing with the Bellaire location. Wings are good but wish they would consider other sauces or flavors for their wings, that would be great. Fried mushrooms are good. read more

Tried spankys the first time this week .... & I can't believe this is even called PIZZZA ! I'm no pizza expert but I have worked in a pizza kitchen back in school ... & this was just totally disgusting ... extra cheese and NOT enough ... we had spots that were missing cheese w/ just crust and "sauce" ... & spots that you can tell they just threw extra cheese on top to finish it off ... Delivery was speedy! The meat lovers thin crust pizza was good minus the chunks of ham.

It was my first visit here and I was pleasantly surprised. They easily accommodated our party of 8 and Eli provided great service. We ordered fried pickles, fried cheese, wings, and pizza. The wings are battered comparable to Hooter's wings but I personally liked them better. We tried the hand tossed pizza and on Monday's 1 topping pizzas are on special for $10.99. The pizza had good crust and just the right amount of greasiness. We are ordered margaritas and the bar easily accommodated virgin frozen drinks for our kids. I will definitely come back! read more

Every time I have been to Spanky's it's always been a great experience. My sister and brother have never been to Spanky's, so on the 22nd I decided to treat them. We came on an excellent day. It had just finished storming so the place wasn't packed at all. it was nice, quiet and it was nice atmosphere. Nice mixture of music as usual and such good friendly service. Be prepared to drop some dough (pun intended) if you planning to eat BIG!!!!!! We came in already knowing what we wanted to order, so we ordered 2 larger deep dish and hand tossed meat lovers and chicken Alfredo pizzas and a Philly cheese stake to go. They took our drink orders first and and the refills kept coming. Had people who weren't even working our table work our table. We didn't even had to ask for refills. The service was absolutely fast, friendly and amazing. Waitresses would just walk by grab the glasses and just go. It was very relaxing and fun to be there with the staff. If I could give the staff ten stars I would. The pizzas took around 30 to 40 mins to make and when they got to our table it was soo hot and tasty. I bit into the pizzas it was like an actual party in my mouth.I saw the look on my sister's face and obviously she approved lol. Having a wonderful time biting into the pies. The chicken Alfredo pizza was an explosion of flavor and freshness. Every bite was so good and the crust wasn't too hard or soft. Everything was just so good, the pizza wasn't too greasy, it was topped off so well and our glasses were never empty The only issue is that I feel the large pizza is sacrificed in these size of the slices to justify it being called a large pizza while I feel if we had ordered an medium, the slices would have been bigger but the same size in diameter but aside from that, I couldn't complain. One of my favorite place in town for pizza! Fresh ingredients and flavorful! I tried most of their pizzas and my favorite would have to be the Chicken Alfredo. The staff and owners are friendly and gives quick service. The place has been rebuilt because of a fire. It is bright and bigger. It can get super pack during lunch and dinner. The wings are nice and plump with a sweet tangy hot sauce I however like the sauce on the side to keep the wings crispy. I also wish they had a choice of wing sauce.
