Thank you, Spanky's, for coming through for a family that lost a daughter, a granddaughter, a sister, and a cousin who was loved by those close to them. I have been going to this spanky's location for years. Sunday night I had dinner with a friend and the service was terrible. I waited for like 15 mins or maybe more at my table to place my order and waiter/waitress was not to be found. I had to stop a waitress that was walking by my table to get service. Placed my order and then when I received my Pizza, it was incorrect. I can understand when the places is packed, but that day there was practically nobody and service still sucked. The food was tasteless and the lasagna was burned and had no meat. I called to make my order. I had a coupon for a free lasagna if you purchased a pasta dish. I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. I asked if I could use the coupon for free Lasagna and the girl said yes. Good pizza and fun spot. The super duper is similar to the supreme, we ordered the NY style but thought it was supposed to be thin and came out poofy like Pizza Hut's. We ordered the small which was enough for two people, maybe even four people if you order sides. The baked spaghetti is pretty good, and the chili cheese fries were standard and a huge portion. The fried mushrooms were also good, everything was made fresh. I'd come back here for the options and variety that they have compared to large chain pizza places. The establishment's decorations and it's environment is a 5/5. My team and I (8 people total) were greeted by a waitress and guided us to a table in the middle. We were then asked for drinks but all of us got water. The menu is on a QR code on the table so you can use your mobile device. We got three pizzas: margarita, chicken Alfredo, and super duper. All hand tossed. The margarita pizza was ok in my opinion. 3/5 overall. Ooey stretchy cheese was great I almost choked. Didn't really taste much that differentiates from a regular cheese pizza. The chicken alfredo pizza was good. 4/5 literally chicken alfredo without the pasta on top of pizza. Although my team didn't eat most of it I finished it for them. This place really surprised me when I walked in. Being a native Houstonian, I had always head about it but never visited the place. First of all, there was plenty of Larkin's space, which is essential when you have a huge F250 to park. Spanky's wins on parking I walked in and was amazed at how nice this place was; the decor, the amount of table and booth seating, and the cleanliness of the place. Not a typical pizza place for sure. There were pasta, pizza, and salad options which were nice. We opted for the small pepperoni pizza with jalapeños and extra cheese. The small pizza was just enough for 2 people, especially with the mozzarella sticks. The pizza was good but it was not as hot as I would've liked as were the cheese sticks. I first found out about spanky's on DoorDash we ordered the super duper with stuffed crust and it was absolutely amazing! It had tons of meat, it was fresh, it was hot and delicious!! We ordered it again a couple of weeks later thinking that there is no way this pizza is going to be as good as it was the first time and it was!! I've had Spanky's dozens of times, and I have dined in a couple of times. The pizza is always consistently delicious! Every time I've dined in, I've been with a very large group (around 20 people), and the staff has always been super accommodating even with splitting our bills. Their salads are generously portioned. My husband picked this place and I was nervous because I didn't check Yelp first. Lol. I thought because of the prices and amount of children's birthday parties going on it would be mediocre. And I was surprised! I really enjoyed my pizza. We had my pepperoni, "deep dish" style. Which is my only critique. Their deep dish isn't deep dish at all, more like pan style from the Hut. Best pizza I've had in Houston. It's in the middle of the road between Chicago/NY style, and plenty of options for crusts and types of pizzas.
