Def regret not taking a photo of my food but we ordered the pretzels as an appetizer and boneless chicken wings! Probs some of the best boneless wings we've ever had. We were super sad they were out of traditional wings but I guess that goes to show how in demand they are lol. Can't wait to come back and try them. We sat outside on the patio and it was a nice refreshing Night. Service was a tad slow but we could tell there were way more tables than servers so we tried to be patient.

Back again. This is delicious bar food at its finest. Consistently delicious from the nachos, bone in wings, pudding shots to the pretzel. Many beers on tap and in bottles. They make cocktails too. Staff is nice, helpful & quick.

Went here for their wings and was not disappointed. We got 2 orders of wings, shrimp appetizer and the shrimp tacos. We were lucky and got there before the rush so we didn't have to wait long for our food. We sat inside by the bar, but nice outdoor seating.

Had no clue I was here 7 years ago but can tell you all is the same. Had the wings and they are know for their unique egg rolls so gave them a try as well. Had the wings again and my wife had a salad. All was fresh and delicious. Was a bit noisy but not a reason to come back.

Visiting the area for Fall Break. Step son requested "wings or pizza" for dinner tonight. Came across Spanky's on Yelp so we gave it a try. We did the pretzels for an app - no complaints! My step son and husband both got wings - they enjoyed them. I devoured the bacon Mac & cheese egg rolls. So so good. Who da thunk that would've been a solid combo? Not me. Would definitely recommend to anyone to go to Spanky's. Even if you have kids in tow!

Love this place! My nieces and I discovered this place after leaving the Outlets. It is a hidden gem and we will be back! The staff was very friendly and accommodating! I look forward to returning! I tried pudding shots for the first time! They make puddings with alcohol and serve it these adorable shot cups! Very tasty! I can't wait to go on a girls' trip and really enjoy them! Our burgers were flavorful and juicy! The fries were perfectly crisp and soft. For dessert we had cheesecake egg rolls. Yeah, you read that right! They were perfectly fired and served with caramel and/or chocolate sauce. There were delicious!

After a week of golf and seafood dinners, my husband and I just wanted great burgers. We got them here at Spanky's! We asked for them medium to medium rare, and they were hot and juicy and perfectly cooked on fresh buns. They were accompanied by what appeared to be home made potato salad, which was perfect. We were there about 6pm on Saturday evening April 1, and the place was only moderately busy. Our server was also Thomas. He was a gem. Prompt and friendly. For a simple tasty meal, we highly recommend this place.simple

Reuben on toasted roll , so good

Stopped in after a day of shopping and it's right up the street from Tanger across from a golf course. Cute little spot with a covered porch and we sat inside. It's a nice little quant sports bar with a nice bar with about 6 or 7 tables. We sat at the low table. Our server was very friendly and recommended the egg rolls sampler. We got the Mac n cheese w bacon and the cheesecake one and the pepperoni one. They were all delicious and crisp. I definitely recommend! I wish I woulda took pic but we ate them too quick. I got the recommended corned beef Reuben with the coleslaw. The Reuben was on a crispy Italian roll that was yummy and crispy. I've never had a Reuben that wasn't on Rye and it's was pretty good. I loved the corn beef and the sauerkraut. If you like the sweetness of KFC's coleslaw then get the slaw. I loved it. It was delightful and nice and cold. My husband got the turkey club it definitely needed a sauce. Maybe a honey mustard? It was very dry. But he ate it and said it was still good. He loved the fries so much. Nice and flavored and crispy. Definitely check out this little place! There's is a little ice cream shop right in the front with cute little bench seats.

Nice little pub. Egg rolls were delicious. I liked the Ruben one the best. We sat inside but it also has a nice patio area also.

Food is excellent! A great hometown feel. Five TVs but not a ton of seats. Definitely a place to hang with the locals.

Ailsa Pub - Myrtle Beach Review (Legends Golf Resort)…read more For starters, I had no idea this place was located within a large, access-controlled gated golf resort community (I'm not local to Myrtle Beach, for context). I later realized the pub is part of Legends Golf Resort, which becomes clear once you pass through the main entry gate. Pulling up to the entrance, there was on-site personnel--looked like security or some type of access control. No issues at all on my end. I rolled up, the gate opened immediately, and I was waved right through. I'm not sure what (if anything) is typically required for entry, but from a first-time visitor standpoint, it was completely smooth. Driving in, the golf course immediately stands out on your left--it's massive. The pub sits further inside and feels like part of a full golf clubhouse setup. When you get to Ailsa Pub, it aligns with what you'd expect from that kind of setting--a true pub environment surrounded by golfers who've clearly been enjoying themselves Before I even walked in (after parking and getting myself together from a long drive), I noticed a couple golfers being escorted out by what appeared to be a representative from the establishment. As I stepped out, one of them made his way over to the bushes near the entrance and decided that was his next "relief stop." It happened to be a windy night, so I crossed to the other side of the street--no need to get caught in any unintended "splash zone." Not a dealbreaker, just one of those moments that gives you a quick read on the overall environment. That said, this is where I think there's an opportunity. Having a more consistent presence outside--especially when guests are being escorted out or appear overly intoxicated--could help better manage those situations and reduce the likelihood of issues as people head out, including potentially getting behind the wheel. Speaking from experience (having spent years working security across a range of bar environments), that kind of presence can make a noticeable difference in keeping things smooth and controlled. Inside the pub and overall physical environment, though--that was a great experience. The place is very well maintained. Clean, professional, and clearly well managed. I felt completely at ease the entire time, including with my vehicle. At no point was I concerned about break-ins or anything along those lines. The space itself is impressive. Large, open layout with plenty of room to move around. There's a sizable back area with what looked like around eight pool tables, a nicely done screened-in section, and even a second outdoor patio bar. It never felt crowded. Staff was excellent--friendly, professional, and attentive. The bartender was responsive and easy to engage with, which always makes a difference. Dress-wise, it leans toward golf attire--polos, golf shorts, that type of look--but it's not overly strict. I came in more casual after the long drive, and the staff welcomed me in without any issues at all. I don't know that I'd make that a habit, but on a late Monday night, it wasn't a problem. As for the crowd, that's really the main variable. My impression was that this is not the type of environment where people are regularly looking to cause more serious trouble. It felt more like a local neighborhood pub where a lot of people know each other--though like any place, every now and then people can get a little too comfortable. Unfortunately, I didn't try the food, but they do serve it and it looked good. There were plenty of plates out, tables being cleared, and staff actively supporting that side of the operation. Bottom line: Great, comfortable environment, strong staff, and a well-designed space. The main opportunity is having a more consistent presence outside to help manage guests as they exit--especially later in the evening. All in all, a solid experience. I'd confidently give it a 4 out of 5 and would absolutely return.

It consisted of 2 deep fried soft shell crabs, 3 deep fried jumbo (and yes, they were actually jumbo) shrimp on top of a bed of various deep fried vegetables. Although the entire dish was deep-fried, it didn't feel heavy or greasy. And the batter chef Bo made mad it all sooooo flavorful! I ordered the granddaddy's grilled cheese. It was a very different take on grilled cheese, but also absolutely delightful!! I believe you can't go wrong with bacon and fig jam on sourdough bread. And for my side, I wanted something a little different so I ordered the sweet potato grits. Do yourself a favor and try them! They are rich and creamy and sweet but not too sweet... Perfect! As delicious as all that was, the showstopper was dessert. We had the lemon blueberry cake. There are not enough words to say how delicious this was! Dense, sweet, but also tar from the fresh lemon with fresh blueberries baked in with a perfect layer of cream cheese icing. I wanted to order another one just to take home. And if the food wasn't enough to keep us coming back. Our service was absolutely amazing. Rachel was our server and she was a rockstar!!! She knew the menu very well! She made amazing recommendations and was attentive and friendly and all-around wonderful! As an added bonus, we were seated in the perfect corner booth for date night. And they had one of their regular live music performers there which added just the right touch. We can't wait to go back!

Jan. 2026 My wife…read moreand I hadn't been back to 44 & King in a few years. With so many good restaurants in the area, we usually try new places, but before heading home we decided it was time to stop in again for dinner. As usual, we try to go during happy hour when prices are a bit better, and we sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly she greeted us right away, handed us menus, and took our drink order. The menu had changed a bit since our last visit. My wife ordered a Coke, and I had an Old Fashioned. For food, my wife chose the Fried Crab Claws with fries, and I ordered the French Onion Soup along with the Pork Nachos from the happy hour menu. While we were waiting, the bartender asked where we were from. We told her Southern Maryland, and when I said Huntingtown, she immediately said, "That's where I'm from." That alone surprised us not many people even know where Huntingtown is. When we mentioned the road we live on, she said, "That's the road I turn on to my parents' house." This was the first time we've ever met a bartender or server over 400 miles from home who lived that close to us. Small world. Our food came out and my wife really enjoyed her crab claws -- I tried one and they were very good. My French onion soup had a nice, deep beef flavor and was very tasty, but after a few bites there was a heavy pepper bite that came through. It was still good, but I had to switch over and eat some of my nachos, which were also good, though different from how I remembered them. I think the BBQ sauce changed the flavor, and the lettuce (which I usually prefer without) was something I should have asked to leave off. I asked my wife to try the soup and mentioned the pepper and that it might be a little spicy. She agreed it was good but said it would be better if it wasn't so peppery. A little later, the chef came out and introduced himself, Bo. He asked how everything was going. I told him everything was good overall but mentioned the heavy pepper bite in the onion soup and asked if that was normal. He said it shouldn't be that strong and that it needed to be toned back. Bo then asked if we had ever tried Mama's Soup, the tomato vegetable soup on the menu. We hadn't, and he asked if we'd like to try it. Not long after, he brought us another bowl and said, "This is Mama's soup give it a try." It was a vegetable soup with hamburger and a tomato base, and it was so good. When he came back, he explained it was his own version of his mother's soup. We told him it would go perfectly with a gooey grilled cheese, and he laughed and said they actually have one on the menu. It was really nice of Chef Bo to come out, check on us, listened and know something wasn't quite right, and it's being taken care of. That kind of interaction truly makes dining out a better experience. It makes the place feel welcoming, like they genuinely want you there. Yes, we will return -- and we were told that Mama's soup is always on the menu.
