I also want people to have a "buyer beware" knowledge so this review is going to be long FYI. I also know different days and times may be better, not sure if that is the case here. We (3 people) were there on Tues. 07/28/26 @ 12:15pm DO NOT USE GOOGLE MENU FOR A REFRENCE!!!!!! 15 ITEMS FROM THE GOOGLE MENU (WHICH IS WHY WE PICKED THE PLACE) ARE NOT ON THE MENU!!! Look at the PICTURE of the menu from the website to see what they actually serve. Regular drinks are not on menu. They serve coke/diet coke/sprite/tea/lemonade/water and that's it. **I KNOW the server is not responsible for preparing food, BUT should have noticed how overcooked the calamari and pub chips were. We didn't eat either after first taste. Server didn't bother to ask why or offer to replace. We could have asked for new ones, but we were already over it. We are pretty sure our server was new and this is why... We ordered Dr. Pepper/Diet Coke/Beer. She brought the beer and 1 dark colored soda and walked away, but didn't tell us if it was the dr pepper or diet coke or say "I'll be back with ???" After several mins I tasted it and it was NOT the dr pepper lol. 5 mins(literally) later... "we don't have dr pepper, gave me my choices." (Picked water) and away she goes. Comes back 5 mins later and we ask about the Google menu and the items - she said we only have what'son this menu and said we needed a minute, but ordered calamari appetizer. 15 mins later received calamari - over cooked by 10 mins, placed our order (cali chkn sand/smokehouse burger w/pub chips/house salad) FINALLY received my water and away she goes. 10 mins later we received our food (not sure if that's good or bad lol) I asked for a steak knife to cut burger, more napkins and a side of smokey BBQ sauce (really tall, a dollop of sauce on top bun only, so have no clue why it's called a smokehouse burger, had only 1 napkin each) and she said "ok, sure", off she goes. 5 mins later I have my smokey bbq - NO NAPKINS & NO KNIFE! Off she goes w/o a word. I wait several mins before breaking down and use butter knife, semi successfully lol. My friends diet coke is now empty. I've now eaten half of the half of my burger and she suddenly appears and sets down the steak knife silently and walks away. WHAT??? REALLY??? IT'S OBVIOUSLY WAY TO LATE! LATER, SHE LEAVES AND THE FAN IS LEFT ON UNTIL WE CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE AND HUNT DOWN MANAGER TO TURN IT OFF. ** NOTE ** We have not been asked - AT ANY TIME DURING MEAL - can I get u anything else, how's your food, is everything ok, would you like a refill (except by Manger, purely by chance), how are things going. NOTHING BUT CRICKETS LOL. ** 2ND NOTE ** We finally get the check and (she actually speaks, LOL) and says "How was the food?" WE say  - ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. (We ate what we could cuz we were really hungry) She actually says "Oh AND laughs" we look at eachother and are at a loss for words. Stopped by for a quick drink after riding our bikes around downtown. I liked they that had a small outdoor bar seating area right on the street while we had our bikes parked off to the side where we could see them. They had some good HH options for food and drinks but we just had a couple drinks. Hubby got a mango spritz and they had several unique seltzer options so I got one made with coconut water. Seems like it could be a fun place to go to at night and probably gets pretty busy. They had a decent number of people sitting inside of the bar and we wanted to check out the rooftop before we left. We searched on Yelp for a lunch restaurant and ended up choosing this establishment. It was almost 2 pm so we missed the lunch rush if there was a crowd because the only folks left were seated at the bar. They had two different games of the NCAA basketball tournament on their screens so that was nice. I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Tacos. My granddaughter ordered the Steak Sandwich and my sister ordered the Ivy House salad. The tacos were good but just a tad too spicy for me. I managed to eat one and a half of the three served. The steak sandwich was really good since I ended up eating half of it because the granddaughter is dieting and the sandwich was big. The salad was also big and good enough to take the leftovers with us. Our server offered to change the channel from daytime TV on the screen closest to us to a basketball game since I was having trouble seeing the Purdue game at the far end of the bar. But both our server and the hostess couldn't find the channel. The bartender should have assisted them since business was slow. We got lucky and found a street parking place directly across the street. It's kind of hit or miss in this neighborhood. Had lunch here after my son's college graduation. What a super cute restaurant! Love the open garage door walls that allowed you to see outside while you eat. They have a rooftop portion but we opted for the inside. Rayna was our server and she could not have been any nicer, attentive to all our needs offering great meal suggestions. We had the smoked artichoke dip to start along with fried pickles. Both were awesome. Several of us had the pimento cheese and peppered bacon burger. 10/10! The Santa Fe salad was the best of all! Visiting Greenville in September, and the western was great, so we had to find a rooftop. Their rooftop opened at 1pm, but the main restaurant area was opened earlier. We arrived 5-10 minutes before so we had to wait a little while but not very long. The hostess seemed like her mind was somewhere else, but everyone else was very attentive and hospitable. We had already eaten brunch, so we just wanted to enjoy some cocktails and a nice view and vibe, and this was the perfect spot for it. A few more people came to the rooftop after we did. I know this is a popular place. But I found it to be ordinary food that is overly priced. I ordered an entree, along with my son and his GF. Had a couple of drinks. My meal was served last - and it was the wrong entree. The server corrected it. However, not until we got back in the car, did I realized they included the wrong entree on my bill. That, along with a nice 20% tip did not sink in too well for me. Anyway, there are certainly many more places to have a great meal in downtown Greenville and surrounding area that is more reasonable and worth the price. I'm a fan of the cool aesthetic, laid back vibe and the sunlight that streams through the large windows and garage doors. I've had solid and friendly service each time, and dishes like the White BBQ Chicken sandwich, juicy burger and shrimp ceasar salad bring me back. On my recent visit, the french fries were the star! They were perfectly crispy on the outside, and the inside was airy and fluffy. I dipped the fries in ketchup mixed with sriracha for a nice kick. It's a good thing I'm not a local or I'd probably order these fries all the time and have to change my name to Ms. Potato Head. My husband and I walked in on a date night and were lucky to get a table immediately. At first we were seated by the door, but it was too cold there so we moved to the bar. I normally don't leave reviews on yelp. However, people should know that the food/menu pictures on this profile are not of food that they still serve. I had about four dishes in mind that I wanted to try on my first visit today. None of those dishes are what Ink N Ivy currently serves. What they currently serve are very regular salads, very regular burgers, very regular sandwiches, and very regular tacos. Go for the drinks and go for the rooftop. Used to Be Great -- Now Just OK I'll be honest this place used to be great. The food was good, the atmosphere was nice, and the service was amazing. But over the last year or so, it has gone downhill -- severely. What was once one of my favourite spots is now just average at best. The biggest issue seems to be the staff, especially the bartenders and servers. There's been a noticeable drop in hospitality. I've even started avoiding the place entirely when I see a certain bartender working. I wasn't going to leave a review, but after recommending this place to several friends and family members -- who then came back with similar complaints -- I felt it was necessary. Across the board, people have said the same thing: long waits for food, poor service, and staff more interested in hanging outside smoking or vaping than actually doing their jobs. Hosts are on their phones, and the servers and bartenders are often nowhere to be found. One bartender in particular stands out for all the wrong reasons -- a very skinny, young white woman with dark reddish hair. I believe her name is Alex (though I'm not 100% sure). Every time she's working, the service is awful. I had her several times and other friends and family have as well at different occasions. She spends more time on her phone than checking on customers, gossiping to her friends in the corners of the bar and I've even witnessed her arguing with other staff right in front of guests, myself included a few times. It felt more like a soap opera than a restaurant. This isn't just my experience -- others I know have said the same thing about her and the general vibe lately. Overall, this place needs a serious reset -- new staff, better leadership, and a return to the level of hospitality that made it great in the first place.
