I called "customer service" about the possibility of getting a static IP for my account. I went through the phone tree and chose the option to add to or upgrade my service. After waiting on hold for 15 minutes I was somehow routed to billing where a woman immediately began talking to me about my bill. I told her I was calling about the possibility of a static IP. She clearly had no idea what I was talking about and said she needed to transfer me to someone else.....back on hold for another 15 min. Finally hung up after wasting 1/2 hour of my life. Absolute abysmal failure. we were forced to switch from the old cable format to the "new and improved" streaming platform. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. The service freezes, glitches or just logs out randomly, for no reason, several times a day. EVERY DAY. I have had to uninstall and reinstall the app 12 times now, and it's only been a week! It's especially fun for my 87 year old, early onset dementia mother, who already hates change, to try and figure out how to work the damned tv. I sincerely wish there was an alternative for tv service in this valley. I only gave 1 star, because it wouldn't let me give zero. read more

Service started out good then its just been crap the last 2 months. Can't stream. Tech didn't show the 1st time, had to wait 2 weeks for another tech . Got a new router and still have the same issues Crappy customer service as well. 0 stars. read more

My wife and I moved into a new house and wanted to transfer the internet to the new house and called a month in advance. I was told that they wouldn't schedule any further out than 2 weeks so I couldn't do anything. I then called two weeks before moving and was told that they needed one week to install the internet itself and then to call the next week to schedule the transfer. So the next week I call and they have not installed the hardware but was assured that if I called the day of moving that they would have it installed and would send someone over to transfer it. Then the day of moving comes and of course, nothing has been installed and I called them and basically was told "oh yeah...we have that on record. Sorry." And was told the soonest I could get the internet installed and transferred was the first of next month. Then they call me the next day and said that an opening was available for a technician to come out the next day (today) from 8-10am to install everything. I said yes, they scheduled me and then 8-10am comes around - nothing. No one comes. So I call them back and they have me scheduled for the 26th. I asked if I could talk to someone in corporate because I knew the lady on the phone wasn't at fault, and they forwarded me to their corporate answering machine which told me to press 5 to leave a message (they didn't answer of course) and pressing the number did NOTHING and it kept saying "no response was made" and repeated itself. I tried EVERY number and NONE of them gave me any response. The people I've spoke to were all very professional and understanding but this kind of disorganized "trust me, we'll get it done" kind of treatment (and the subsequent failure to come through) has forced me to give a negative review. Reader, if you have any opportunity to work with a different internet carrier, take it. Sparklight is not trustworthy, they are not organized, and they are not worth the money. read more

Sparklight came out to install WiFi and Internet services to my home on 8/9/19. The technician called to give me a "heads-up" that he was on his way. I totally appreciated that. Once here the tech (Michael S.) was professional and polite. He took the time to tell me about the set-up process and answered my many questions. When they switched to hi-def, I specifically asked if We'd have to have a box & was told no. I asked again to clarify, "You're telling me I will never have to have a box if I buy a hi-def tv?" "That's correct". Well, now we have to have a box because they're switching or no tv. When I tried to set up a time to install, they only had "all day" time slots---in other words, you have to be home all day because they're unable to set specific a time. We also have to use their very small remote--no more single remote to run both tv and DVD player. We have to switch from one app (on the tv) to another if we want to change from tv to DVD. Almost all the channels have changed too. I've also heard there's a fight coming up over channel charges, so we may see an increase (already too expensive) or lose some more channels (we lost some a year or so ago). The local phone number automatically switches to some phone center, they were not very friendly or helpful. On an up note, the man who came to set up the boxes was friendly, patient & quick. If I could rate cable one with no stars I would. This company is practically running a monopoly in the valley. I've had cableone internet for about 5 years. I am cancelling this month. My internet speed has never been "blazing fast" and the fact they upgrade there system to 100 and charge an extra $5 a month and my speed is the same if not slower. Then I start to receive notifications saying I went over my 300 gig limit. One of the months I was out of town two weekends and my internet was not in use. Many of my friends received the same notices. They told me I would have to change my limit to 400gigs for at least 3 months for an extra $25 a month. I never changed how much I used my internet and have had the 300 gig limit for a year since they got rid of the unlimited, to get more money out of their customers. whenever I have a billing question if you get help from one of the ladies in the office to pay a bill it's an extra $10. read more
