I originally gave Spartan Gyros 5 stars. The vibe was great & the food was outstanding. Unfortunately, my recent visit was a completely different experience. It started with not even being able to open the front door. There was a sign that said "pull really hard," & we watched another family walk by thinking the place was closed. Inside, it was empty except for 2 employees standing there. We ordered 2 bowls, which came to over $30. One had rice, falafel, & tomato. The other had rice, tomato, tzatziki, & chicken. The falafels were wet inside & something clearly seemed off. Within an hour of eating, my stomach felt unsettled & I just did not feel well. I was tired & very hungry at the time, so I did not send anything back, but I definitely regretted not speaking up!! The rice was dry and bland. Honestly, Trader Joe's microwave rice would have been the better choice. The tomatoes were cut so large that I ended up pulling them out and giving them to my daughter because I prefer smaller pieces. We also ordered the potatoes, which I had really been looking forward to. The last time I was here they were charred on the edges, tender, lemony, and full of flavor. This time they tasted parboiled, still firm in the center, and sadly flavorless. I poured vinaigrette on top just to give them some taste. Even the small details felt neglected. The artificial plants on the tables were covered in dust. I would have preferred no décor at all instead of dusty décor. Overpriced and under flavored. I cannot say that I would go back. I am now on the hunt for a Greek restaurant that truly delivers on flavor. read more

Spartan gyros is always a great stop for lunch or dinner. The staff are friendly, service is quick and most importantly the food is always great! I usually opt for the falafel gyro, the Greek salad is also yummy as well at the fries. I love that they also carry sweet potato fries. The concept is that you order at the register, you take a seat and they deliver your meal. There's no fluff or extravaganza but there is great food. There's place is nicely decorated and is always clean. One thing to note is that if you are a die hard fan of the classic coke or sprite beverages, they don't have any. During my last meal here, I noticed that they replaced the classics with their own homemade or in-house versions. This didn't bother me, but my partner wasn't too pleased about it. But we made do. If you're in the mood for a Gyro this is your place. I have eaten here many times and the food is consistently delicious. You walk in and order your food at the register. Then take a seat and wait for your food to be delivered. The restaurant is always comfortable, clean with an atmosphere of being in the Greek Islands My husband and I both had a Gyro which was filled with lamb meat that was moist and flavorful also included the right amount of fresh veggies and sauce. The bread holding all together was also freshly baked. We shared an order of fries which were cooked to perfection and seasoned well. They are very friendly and always serve with a smile. My only complaint was the person taking my order was not very friendly, no hello, no smile, and no thank you. Eating out is a social experience and being friendly is part of that. We didn't feel like cooking after work so Greek sounded delightful. Spartan Gyros offered fast and polite service. The restaurant was clean & had pictures of Greece displayed on the wall. Our small Greek salads were the perfect appetizer because once my beef souvlaki arrived I only had room for half. I have never physically been into this restaurant. I've only ever done take out but I have never had a bad experience. The staff who we pick up the orders from is always pleasant, and the service is quick. The food here is incredible. Their hummus and pita are both always very fresh and I always get a Greek salad and add grilled chicken. You can tell the chicken is freshly grilled as well. I have been coming here for a while now and the staff and food are excellent. The interior is nice, clean, and I love their blue plates. It is how I envision a modern casual greek restaurant. I always get a gyro platter with a greek salad and sweet potato fries with an Arnold Palmer to drink. Also for lunch the lunch special is a great value as well. When I get the lunch special I get the gyro pita. You can tell the food is made with love because the flavor shows it. Because I have been here so much, I have gotten to know the father and son who own it. They charged extra for pita and since I wanted something spicy, I got the spicy feta which was very good but also was charged extra for! First time eating here. I work about 20 mins away and was craving gyros and this was the closest place. They have a lunch special for $12.95 which was a chicken gyro with either French fries or salad and a drink. The lunch special is from Monday to Friday until 3pm. I got to the restaurant at 3:10 and asked if I could still take advantage of the special and the gentleman at the front counter said he will give me the special as a one time courtesy. I thought this was a very nice gesture. The gyro was very flavorful and the fries were very good. They also offer WiFi inside the restaurant which is great. The have background music playing not too loud which is nice. They keep the restaurant very clean. I notice 2 people leave and within 2 minutes or less, the employees were cleaning the table. I went to Spartan Gyros as it was in the Weston area. They have signs out front for a lunch special for the gyro pita combos as well as the chicken pita combos. It includes the pita of your choice, a side, and a drink. I couldn't turn down a lunch special of that value so I was convinced! I ordered the gyro pita combo with fries and a drink. The fries were phenomenal! Crispy, large, and they came with a ton. I wouldn't expect to be getting fries this good from a Greek restaurant but I was shocked! I saw others ordered the Greek salad as a side which also looked great! I'm thinking I'd get that as my side next time just because that feels more Greek than fries and the fries could've been even better if it included some tzatziki to dip them in. I eat Mediterranean food at least 3 times a week. This restaurant is around the corner from my house and thought I would give it another try since we have not been there since they opened. Ordered two salads with Chicken Kebabs and pita bread to go. When we got home we found out the pita bread was missing. Not the end of the world, but just another annoying reason not to go back. Both salads were fairly tasteless. Dressing nothing to write home about. The chicken was placed on top of the salad and was luke warm at best. Cold would be more like it. But points for being moist and not overcooked. Gave it 3 stars as overall rate it mediocre. Shame as the Horiatiki salad was fresh and a large piece of feta. The greek was nothing to write home about. Again dressings no real flavor. Wish it was better as I live less than a mile. Will drive to other places around the area. Next I'm going to try One Lebanese. I know much fancier and sit down, but hope they are good. read more

My kids and I decided to try this place since it was somewhere new. I also really like gyros (especially chicken). The place wasn't that busy and we waited about 5-7 minutes to order. This was simply because the guy in front of us took forever because he was on his phone while he was ordering and had trouble multitasking. I ordered the chicken gyro (shocker, right) and my kids ordered the macaroni and cheese and the grilled cheese pita. They sort of liked thee food although my daughter got sick of the pita before she finished it. The kids meals come with a side and drink as well. Personally, I think every kids meal should come with a side and drink; I won't get on my soapbox here, though. The gyro was tasty and the fries were decent. They have their own type of sodas and their Diet Coke was fine. I had a lunch special which is an awesome deal. A gyro, a side and a drink for $13.95. That's a good deal if I ever saw one. The only complaint is that the food took a little long to get to our table. The restaurant only had a few other occupied tables and it shouldn't have taken that long. Yelp First Friday! Easy way to participate in a Yelp event right from home! Great way to remind ourselves to get out of a rut and try new businesses! Sometimes I think I have tried every restaurant within delivery distance of me but I know that's not possible! 15 year old suggested Spartan which was perfect since I am always up for Mediterranean food. He ordered Steak Kabobs which came with Sweet Potato Fries and. a side Greek Salad. Unfortunately he started resting before I got a pic, but the kabobs were super tender and tasty. It was a shame the order came with only two kabobs. Some fries were crispy and some were not, I guess that is one of the hazards of delivery. I ordered a Horiatiki Salad with Chicken. The chicken was well seasoned and there plenty of it. The tomatoes were a little mushy. I liked the rest of the salad but the portion was really small. We shared an appetizer hummus. I went here on Saturday and got a gyro on pita with extra meat, large greek fries, and a trio of dips and it was amazing. It was really really good. The gyro was absolutely packed with meat and was more like a meat log wrapped in pita. I don't know if they were trying to get rid of meat or what but it was exceptional lol. The greek fries were covered in cheese and with some type of light oil on top. They were hot and crispy and great fries. The trio of dips had large hummus, tzatziki, and some type of greek pimento cheese dip with fresh pita. The pita was soft and fresh and the dips were all very good. I'm not one to write reviews but this was just really really good and I thought it worth the time to write. 11/10 would go again. The only critique I can give is that the gyro meat was a little dry and could be moister. I know you're dealing with meat on a spit so I'm sure its tough to keep moist but fix that one thing and I would have nothing to suggest for improvement. read more

This is one of the best Greek spots, ever. My favorite dish is their Moussaka. I like ordering from them for lunch because it's efficient, tasty and filling. They started game night on Fridays from 9:00pm until 1:00am. I think that's a great Friday night spot for teens and families. Everything from Mario brothers to Uno. Also, try their fries, they are perfectly seasoned, even better with tzatziki. read more

So...yesterday in our need to eat something different Spartan Gyros popped up on my yelp. What? Greek near home? We need to try it out. Spartan is located on weston road in the plaza next to Home Depot. It is on the other side of the plaza so parking is a lot easier than the side with Mission BBQ, Pizza Heaven, Dunkin Donuts and Jersey Mike's. We had no idea that they had only been open 2 days! 2 days! Spartan is a a casual place where you order at the counter and you get a number and the staff brings the food out. We had: falafal pita. Falafal isn't traditionally Greek, but I was happy they had it because being a vegan eater, it is a good option. They do not have a tahini sauce, but they gave me some tahini...plain unsaucified...but it worked. The falafal has a lot of flavor and wasn't fried to a crisp. There was plenty In the pita. I got a side of lemon potatoes. They needed a little salt but they were tasty. My daughter has gyro meat with hummus and pita on the side. The meat is not that compressed stuff. It's homemade and my daughter loved it. She said the hummus was perfect and my 9 yr old is a very picky hummus eater. My husband had the lemon chicken. It was served with quinoa (which was light and fluffy) and lemon potatoes. He enjoyed it. We also got grape leaves. You could tell they were homemade as the rice wasn't mushy. It was served warm and was delicious! Rounding everything out was the horataki salad. It was filled with veggies. They get 100 points for the olives not having pits! Yay! Service was friendly. They have a few kinks to work out, but for having only been open for 2 days they rocked it. Had a chance to talk to the owner and they make everything from scratch (except for the French fries). I work nearby here in Weston. I have ordered lunch from here a few times, and I have to highly recommend this restaurant! Everything is super delicious, fresh, tasty, clean, and perfectly hot. I've ordered the chicken souvlaki, it comes in a generous amount on a skewer, perfectly juicy and so yummy, browned to perfection. They wrap it in tin foil to keep it super warm and place this inside a cardboard takeout container, and it also comes with a side of tzatziki sauce. I also ordered the Greek salad, so yummy, and side of pita and hummus. They also warm the pita and wrap in foil to keep it warm for your takeout. The hummus is SO good, and I am picky with hummus. Will continue to be a happy customer and recommend this restaurant! Keep up the great work . I will add photos next time. I'm so happy to finally have a Greek restaurant close to home. It a quick serve restaurant. It seems like they still have a few bugs to work out, but all'n'all every thing was very good. We started with some grape leaves. They are served hot and they are made fresh in house. They don't have that overly pickled taste and the rice inside wasn't mushy. Next came our meals. My daughter had the gyro meat and hummus. The hummus, she is really picky about her hummus, she ate ever last bit of it. The gyro meat is also made in house, not pre made from a food service place like they serve in most places. My wife had a falafel gyro. She enjoyed it. She got it with lemon potatoes, so good. I had the lemon chicken, it came with two sides. I got it with quinwa and I also got lemon potatoes. The chicken could have been a bit more tender but was still very good. Drove from Davie with family to eat dinner this past Saturday night. I walked into the restaurant and there was not one customer in the entire restaurant, completely empty. When I approached the counter to order, the girl told me "We have so many online orders, your going to have about 25-30 minutes before we can take your order." WHAT????? So we left. Place was clean .... guy was super nice when ordering. Food was terrible. I asked for medium rare beef and I got well done. I like to dip my beef in taziki sauce and I specifically asked if my meal came with it and if not add it and he said no it came with it I needed to pick to sides. This week I had been craving some delicious Greek food and have had this spot saved in my collections on help for some time and finally decided to give them a shot and I am very impressed with the food. Portions for the plate are big and can definitely feed two people. Well maybe myself and someone else since I don't eat much in one sitting but definitely enjoyed the flavors of the gyro meat and lemon potatoes. I will admit tho my dad got the fries and they were soooo much better. The plate come with your choice of meat and two sides I went with the lemon potatoes and small Greek salad and didn't not expect this massive salad to come to our table.
