The leasing office even confirmed that visitors don't need permits. Texas law requires towing signs at every entrance before a tow can be authorized. None existed. Yet Spartan still removed my vehicle. When I reached out, they didn't address the legality of the tow at all. They sent a copy‑and‑paste "claims department" email that had nothing to do with the issue. No explanation, no accountability, no transparency. I just this company tow a car at an apartment complex in Plano/dallas. The Richmond apartments. It was very suspicious, their lights were off and they dropped the car while attempting to pick it up. They're sneaky and have bad tech that does not securely connect to cars. The first part of my video cut off where I see the car fall off and drop in the road. Ive been sitting in my car waiting 7 hours for a tow truck to tow this guy out of my reserved apartment parking space. (Waiting in my car so I don't get towed). Ive called Spartan Wrecker for updates 5 times over the course of the seven hours and on the last call I expressed I was getting irritated about the seven hours wait time since I called and requested the tow at 7:05 am (5 mins after they opened). After the lady I was speaking to contradicted herself several times and I questioned her contradictions, she started yelling at me and proceeded to block my phone number. I recorded every single conversation I had today with Spartan Wrecker. I would greatly appreciate management getting in contact with me, especially since she refused to repeat her managements contact info when asked since I couldn't understand her the first time and she didn't reveal her name. I work for Uber Eats and work strictly at night times. Wednesday 18 1:20am I'm on wing stop delivery for a customer at an apartment complex building 9 which is in the back of the complex. As I walking up the stairs I see a truck pull in front of my car and a man jumps out and starts looking in my running car. As I'm walking down the stairs I say hey what are u doing to my car. He says u can't park here and threatens to tow me. I say I'm on the clock doing u we eats he then runs to his truck so I run to my car In a panic . He then Processed to threaten me and demand I apologize for which I still don't know why but out of fear of losing my job I apologized. He put my car down and took off I tried to pull up next to him to get a picture of the company name and number but he started swerving trying to run me off the road once I got video of the company name and number the man then slowed down on the high way and started following me. I then start to exit and he follows until the last second and he jumped back on the toll way. I would give them a zero after the phone call I had just had. I simply asked the worker for help since a visitor code was not working. She was rude, and I understand that they may receive lots of calls and complaints from people being towed. I was nothing but respectful and was told after asking my questions that, " I am not here to argue with you," to which I said I am not arguing with you and she backed off before threatening that I would get towed if we did not resolve the problem ( which is why I was asking my questions). I was very frustrated and disappointed in the professionalism of this interaction and several we have had before. Helping explain the programs that you have created is important to help your clients. Being rude was uncalled for. We have worked with other tow companies, and it has never been this hard to have help with a simple question regarding checking in a visitor. The last company was always kind to us a treated every question with respect. This company was a low-value scum that just enjoyed arguing with every question, including talking over us on the phone. This lack of verification and the rapid towing response appear to create an unfair, profit-driven system rather than a reasonable enforcement of parking policy. I was still required to pay an impound fee and the manager had the audacity to yell at me to "grow up" after I informed him that he was in the wrong and is following illegal practices. My truck was towed in my driveway of my girlfriends house! I'm pissed!! I parked in the driveway last night 12-10-2023 and they towed it 12-11-2023 I called Ft Worth police and they said only way it could be towed is if Cars parked in a tow-away zone or parked on property without permission may be towed at the car owner's expense. Walked out of my son's apartment to see my vehicle about to be towed by a Spartan tow truck. The driver who obviously wasn't trained or just didn't care had our suburban, which is rear wheel drive, hooked up to his tow truck from the front with it locked, in park and emergency brake on. When I confronted him he said he would drop it for $90 then when I got my wallet he upped it to $135. He also threatened me with the police when my son refused to get out of my vehicle so he could tow it. After I paid $135 cash he dropped my suburban and drug the part he dropped it from down the road grooving the concrete and sped off yelling something. I can't imagine how bad he would have messed up my vehicle had I not walked out when I did. There is nothing professional about this company. And after reading all of the other reviews on this site I see this company is known for being scammers. Why are they being allowed to get away with running their business like this? Is this why they drive all the way from Farmersville to Frisco because nobody in Farmersville will use them? Or more likely they are targeting the Frisco area because there is more money to scam there. I have never in my 50 years dealt with a company like this. This company is full of evil people. First, they towed my car a week before Christmas. Real nice. From my apartment parking garage. It cost $330 to get it out. When I called to see where my car was, the lady on the phone was rude. She hung up and then wouldn't answer me. I had to get my apartment leasing office to call and ask where my car was for me. Can you believe no one has called me or provided detail on repairing the damage from this company. If you ever come into contact with the company who tries to tow you illegally please know your rights! If they have it hooked up but have not left the premises you can legally have the release it if you pay the drop fee cost( they don't tell you this but it's legal law and they cannot ask for payment upfront on it either). Also if they have it PARTIALLY hooked up and you get in and turn it on and reclaim possession they have to legally let it go without a fee and if not call the cops. If you have a lease agreement and it states you can park there legally but they come and tow it illegally- pay their stupid impound fee to get it out without them racking your charges and then bill and request payment from your landlord for them doing an illegal tow as they are responsible for paying it if it was indeed illegally towed BUT if it was in violation of whatever your lease states you will be responsible. I am here because I am tired of these private tow companies trying to pull fast ones on people who don't know their rights!! If you ever had an illegal tow from any company go onto the TDLR.texas.gov website and submit a complaint and research your other options if you need to. Do not let them scare you with their " parking rules and violations" if you in fact have proof of lease agreement stating you are legally able to park there without a permit. read more
