Well, after a year of putting up with baths and trimmings from mommy and daddy, we called Spaw Day in for the rescue! LOL Tarin did a great job and the doggies are so happy! Once again, Bella Blu, my dog with anxiety, did great with the person trimming her hair. That speaks volumes about the "vibe" they give off and how well they do their job. Laura has been coming to our house to wash our dogs for about 3 years! The first time, both dogs came out of the van, took one look at me and tried to climb back in!!! They loved it! Now it is only our Sallie (Golden Retriever) who gets groomed, but her tail wags every time she sees her. Laura is gentle and kind ~ I am grateful because Sallie is an old lady now. She is very knowledgeable about all kinds of animals...she even taught me how to trim our rabbit's nails! I wouldn't take Sallie anywhere else and I wouldn't hire any other groomer either! Lora did an amazing job on my Schnauzer mix, Lola. I reached out somewhat last minute to try to get an appointment on the weekend and Lora was prompt in her replies and got us scheduled right away. Her mobile spa for the puppies was great and our dog was able to look out the window at our house the whole time. Lora asked us how we liked the cut for Lola and delivered exactly what we wanted! Not too much shaved but enough to take off the scruffy hair and still leave her beard and ears furry. Lora was also super accommodating when I mentioned that our dog has sensitive skin, she had shampoos and she even let us provide our own we had in the house. It took about 1 hour 20 min and it was great because we were able to get so much done around the house without rushing around to the groomers! As soon as my dogs hear Laura pull up in her RV, they start chirping uncontrollably in excitement. They cannot get themselves in there fast enough. This is a far cry from how they behaved getting groomed at Petsmart, where try would have to be dragged or carried into the back. Laura does a great job grooming their super tangly fur. I am so happy I found Spaw Day for my senior Shihtzu! Laura is the best groomer and treats my dog so well. He always looks and smells amazing after she grooms him. Better than I could've hoped. Lora did a phenomenal job giving our pup Woody his first grooming. She was so attentive to our concerns - how we wanted him to look, his wirey hair texture, and very dry skin. Now he is soft and looking SO HANDSOME! I can tell his skin is soothed and less itchy. Woody seemed very comfortable with her and I felt good about leaving him. It's clear she's a true animal lover and takes great care of her clients. Oh and the pricing is extremely reasonable. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back. Some helpful tips: The mobile grooming bus is located in the alley between 26th and 27th. Because it's not a traditional grooming salon, it's important to pick up your pet very shortly after he/she is finished. Cash is not expected, but preferred. Hands down the best grooming experience. My cat is 6 years old, I get him groomed quarterly - so that ranks top out of at least 24 grooming appointments. Took me a long time to find the right groomer, but I finally did and I'm thrilled about it! First things first- Lora did a fantastic job, and exactly what I asked for (NO lion cut and towel dried instead of using the dryer). On top of that... she was timely, professional & pleasant. What more can you ask for?! The fact that they are mobile is a godsend. I have no time to spare and I will not leave my cat at a groomer's all day. It's just not my bag. This service is just AMAZING! The ladies pulled up right in front of my house in their grooming bus and took care of my little pompom without me even having to leave the house! it was SO convenient! My pup gets a little anxiety when I take and drop her off, so the fact that she was never more than 20 ft from the house relieved a LOT of that. Lora is wonderful at what she does, and truly loves working with animals. Luke loves her, even after she's tortured him with the blow dryer (ok, she's not really torturing him, but he begs to differ). Husky's require a lot of grooming, which is not always easy to do when you have a tenacious toddler running around, so I'll be scheduling more regular appointments to keep him well groomed!!! read more

Spaw Day just opened their storefront in Lemon Grove. Their groomer Melissa is amazing. The first time i went, I took my dog Bosley. He's a schnauzer mix. He came out looking like a shiny new dime. His silver face and fur were reflecting the sun. He smelled so good and was so soft. The second time I went, I brought Riley, my 15 year old grumpy mini poo. I tried grooming him myself, big mistake! Have you ever cut your own hair and had to have a stylist fix it? Ya, that was him. She fixed him up and he came out looking like a soft fluffy cloud. He was perfect. They also have a DIY doggie wash there. They supply everything but the labor. They even have specialty packages to help with irritated skin or fleas. This review is long overdue, so for that we apologize! We've been having Lora groom our dogs for years. We've got a 15 and 7 year old dog, and we only trust her to get them cleaned up. They look great and smell great every single time. Most importantly is that the experience for our dogs isn't stressful, and they really do enjoy seeing Lora. I got 2 Ragdolls last summer, so this was my first shedding season with 2 long hair cats. I was going crazy trying to keep the cat hair under control so I decided to have them shaved. I was worried because 1 of our cats, Cassy, was abused before we got her and I was not sure how she would react. The other cat, Rocky is spoiled rotten and I was not sure how he'd behave. After reading reviews of several groomers on Yelp, I called Spaw Day. They are very busy during shedding season so it took a couple weeks to get an appointment. Lauren showed up right on time and was gentle and reassuring with both cats. Neither cat was upset after the grooming which was amazing! They both looked great and I'm sure they are much cooler with most of their hair gone. And my clothes and furniture are no longer covered in white fur!! I won't hesitate to call Spaw Day again the next time the fur gets out of control. read more

We took our dog here when we had family come in town on short notice and our normal groomer was booked. Our dog is a Labradoodle and sometimes they are hard to groom. We talked with the groomer about what we wanted (his hair cut a little shorter to make it more beach manageable.) She asked if we wanted his hair as "short as a lab's" and we specifically said NO! When we got our pup back he was shaved SO short-like hardly any fur left! His face and tail were still ok but his poor body. I will say it was beach manageable but he also looked ridiculous. There were lines on his legs where they had cut too short-overall an uneven cut. When we took him to our normal groomers this week (over 6 weeks from the time he was cut by Paw day) and they said they wouldn't recommend taking any length off since he was already so short (after 6 weeks of growing out!!). They commented on how uneven he was and thought we had done his cut ourselves at home. The good thing about Spaw Day is that he did get a nice bath and was clean when he left. read more

I have a cat and they are not easy to bathe and groom but Lora has always been excellent with Abigail. I know Abigail is in safe hands with Lora who does an "outstanding" job grooming my beloved pet. She is one busy young woman but always kind and patient not only towards Abigail but with my obsessive concern for her!! Yay! so glad I found this business. My very long-haired cat is extremely skittish, to the point that the so-called cat groomer at Petco El Cajon wouldn't even take her out of her carrier! She came home from that failed adventure all stressed out and was hissing at her carrier :( I was referred to this business by a neighbor. She kindly sent me a text letting me know she was running a bit late because of traffic, and once she got to my home took very good care of my little girl. I have normally had nothing but positive experiences with Lora. I had an apt today and was in my backyard with my kids. Which meant I could not hear the doorbell ring. I had gotten a call that she would be arriving around 2:30-2:45. I usually get a call/ text once they are here but got no call so I thought she might be running late. When I called to ask what was going on and I was told she was here and waited until after 3. I did not hear the doorbell ring or get any call. When I asked if I could reschedule I was told she was booked out a month and to find someone else. I told them I did not mind waiting she said, she was in a bad mood and to call back in a month. I asked her, "Does this mean she doesn't want to take us on as a client anymore?". She said, "Probably not because she drove out there and you didn't answer. And if you've done this once before then by the second time she doesn't excuse it anymore." I am so disappointed because I was home, and did not intentionally waste her time. I did not hear my bell ring or the dog barking. I'm not going to act like I did nothing wrong, I do feel bad that I did not hear the doorbell. I understand she felt I wasted her time but I was expecting a call/ text like i've always gotten. It is upsetting to not even be given the chance to reschedule and make things right. I would have gladly compensated her for her time and then some. read more

I've been taking our 3 cats to Taryn for a year now - either getting a bath & claws done, or just their claws. She is absolutely amazing with them! The eldest was a stray who destroys our skin when we attempt to do this claws, and although he's gotten better over time I still can't get him to let me near him. Taryn is able to get them done in minutes with no fight from Basil. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my babies. read more

What an awesome experience, the best customer service I have ever received. Lora was flexible to set up a same day appointment for our Cockapoo at the end of an already busy day for her. I figured Lora may have already been tired out from the day and I even contemplated rescheduling with her because it was getting late. To my surprise, Lora was totally the opposite. Still full of energy, full of life and motivated to groom our dog. She was very professional and a very effective communicator. She explained in detail what steps she will take to groom the dog and at the end of the session she gave a full run down of what took place, how she did it, and the results of her actions.
