Great service, cheerful and knowledgeable. On both my trips here the food was exceptional. I'd give them 5 stars except that when I've ordered the creamy polenta with bacon and poached egg, as shown in photos. While the bacon was cooked to perfection, the egg was overcooked and the yolk hard. I realize this may sound picky, but to me a poached egg with a runny yolk is what really makes the dish. Went here the other night for a drink with my guy. I had seen this place before and looking up what it was about was really intrigued to try it, especially the bacon maple donut holes. Unfortunately, they did not love up to my expectation. I don't know if it was the bacon itself but the smell overall was too much, the bacon not as crisp as I would think but the more disappointing factor for me was the actual donut holes themselves. They were somewhat dense, more overcooked and fried on the outside with an extremely heavy thick coating of the maple glaze. Not anywhere as amazing as I had built it up to be. The wine selection however is good, I had the sparkling mead which was a treat since most places don't serve mead. My guy had a red wine and said it was quite good. I give three stars because it is solid for that but there isn't any other wow factor to go beyond it. I wouldn't mind going again to try out more of the menu and see how it fares. read more

We had a great experience for dinner at the Speakeasy. We had been for brunch once before and it was delicious, so we were excited to try the dinner options. We had a group of 4 and were seated outside under the heat lamp as soon as we arrived. The patio area has great ambience and was very cozy. We got a variety of food for the table (lobster Mac and cheese, bacon cheddar fries, the spicy papas, and tried a ton of their tacos using the 4 for $15 deal)...everything was DELICIOUS! My favorites were the grilled salmon taco and the sweet and sour pork belly...mmm! We wanted to try the coconut crusted plantain tacos and our waiter had said they had run out of those, so we didn't end up ordering them. But, as we were waiting for our food to come out, our waiter came with two of the tacos and said they had just made more and he was gifting them to us since we had wanted to try them. This is literally my favorite restaurant in Petaluma. I have gone here so many times I can't even count. All the food is delicious. I have eaten almost everything on the menu. They're open really late so it's an awesome spot to go after a movie or show. When I brought my parents here I think they literally ordered the whole menu. I just can't say enough good stuff about them. Usually have great service (only had slow service one time really) delicious food, it's pricey, but it's worth the price. Honey and I were hanging out Easter day and decided to check Yelp for a good place to eat, this place had enough stars so we said let's try it. Well, great choice the food was fantastic it was a cute little atmosphere, didn't notice until after we ordered there were 2 separate locations in one long story. I ordered the Steak melt which was to die for, my honey ordered the Burger it was good but he complained that it was way to small for him. And we shared the Mac N Cheese, OMG the mac N cheese was some of the best I had ever had. And don't let me get started on those fried homemade Donut Holes, with maple syrup and bacon OMGEEEZZZ a must try so delicious. I've been here a couple times now and it's been great each time. The menu seems to change, offering a few different items along with some staples. I've ordered different tacos each time and have loved them. They are pretty innovative - bbq jackfruit with slaw, butternut squash, Brussels sprouts, etc. My boyfriend has ordered a couple different pasta dishes which he said are delicious as well. Speakeasy is a unique late night, small plate restaurant that is a beacon for people who want to eat dinner in Petaluma after 9pm. On a Thursday night, our party of 4 was able to be seated fairly quickly, although there were still many patrons inside and out. (Seating is relatively limited inside.) I ordered the Taco Trio ($12), which comes with crispy sweet & spicy pork belly, braised short ribs, and tomatillo chicken. Each taco was garnished with cabbage and avocado puree, and each was very flavorful, but the pork belly was probably my favorite. I also got to try a bit of the beef burger ($10) and fried chicken ($15), which were both tasty. The fried chicken was juicy, and came with two large pieces. The fries that accompany the burger were amazing: crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, perfectly-salted steak fries. Hope to visit again to try the tapas and starters. read more

My favorite night spot! This place is open until 2am serving a top notch menu with top notch service. The menu is really different, typical plates with a Speakeasy twist that is always for the better. The Big Easy typically has awesome rockabilly, jazz or plenty other styles of music playing. We stopped by right before dinner and I would definitely wait for their dinner menu if I came here. I ordered the pomegranate citrus salad. The dressing was light, but I usually appreciate that since I like ingredients to show through. The problem was that there was no flavor outside of the dressing. It might have passed as a side salad, but not a starter. I was hoping some pepper would help the situation, but we hit a dry spell in service. My husband ordered a panani and received the wrong one, so we eventually went to the counter area to get some help. After that, I ordered the pork belly from the dinner menu which was way better than the salad, hazzah! On average, the food was mediocre and the service was ok. I would try another place if I'm in the area again. read more

I was a bit confused that a placed name in relation to America's most influential mixed drink period does not have a bar to mix drinks. The food is pretty good, the small plates should be adequate as a meal if you have a appetizer or dessert, or both. The most interesting thing to me was they have brunch from 10am to 5pm sat and sun, that might be the longest brunch I have ever seen. The donuts are actually funnel cake nuggets with bacon you buy in the salad toping section of the grocery store. read more
