What I appreciate most is his honesty--he'll tell you straight up if something isn't worth fixing instead of wasting your money. He's also incredibly quick at diagnosing issues and has always been spot on. Most recently, he fixed my dryer--he even came out on a Friday night and then came back late Monday to make sure it was taken care of since I needed it done quickly. When you sort thru the reviews using the 'newest first' option you'll see that most of the great reviews are from the past and most poor reviews are more current. If you choose to use this service, just know it's a gamble on what you'll get. The first scheduled appointment I had with Aaron, he was a no show. I reached out, he gave me an excuse, and we rescheduled. Aaron eventually came to my house, agreed to order parts to do the job, he took my $150 for the service call (which would be later applied to the total job cost). From that point on, I was given excuse after excuse, lies, and often ghosted. This went on for 3 months. Aaron claimed the parts were on backorder. Finally after 3 months of patiently waiting and dealing with his BS, I called the appliance company myself to check the inventory of parts needed and everything was in stock and had been. I immediately followed up with Aaron again for the status, just to see what he would say, and again he lies, telling me parts are still on backorder and because 'the company is overseas, communication with them isn't the easiest'. I knew that to be an absolute lie since I had just got off the phone with the parts department and the company has a US 1-800 number with a perfect english speaking person. I asked him some additional questions and he ghosted entirely. At that point I contacted my credit card company for a refund and I never heard from Aaron again. I then called another company and they came out and had my appliance repaired within a week, parts on hand! I'm sure if he sees this, he'll reply some lame excuses or a false story as he has done with others. But at least you've been warned. read more

I had such a great experience getting my washer fixed! He was incredibly flexible and understanding when I had to reschedule due to my kids being sick, which I truly appreciated. Once we confirmed the new date, he showed up exactly when he said he would and was in and out in what felt like minutes. He was honest, polite, and took the time to clearly explain what the issue was. What really stood out to me was his integrity, he only charged the service fee and didn't try to upsell or add unnecessary repairs. I really dislike writing negative reviews because I want to support small businesses. The first time Aaron came to fix our fridge 4 years ago he was professional, prompt, and thorough which is why I called him again years later. Unfortunately something changed since then and I simply did not see the same type of business ethics anymore. I called him mid-November to fix the fridge and he needed time to order the part which was going to take a few weeks. Ok. understandable plus it was near the holidays. Around mid-December the part came and he installed it. I thought it was odd that he installed it really quickly but didn't even wait for it to do a test run like he previously did and just took off. Of course it didn't work so I had to call him to come back and scheduled an appointment to have him look at it again. It's now January (I get it, it's the holidays and people are busy) and he checks it and it still isn't working. Now I completely understand that sometimes traffic is really bad but at every appointment we've set up he's been at least over an hour late and I think there needs to be more respect for people's time. It's now February and he can't fix it so $700 later I simply ask for a refund. He tells me he will contact the manufacturer. 3 months later in May the manufacturer denies that claim so we try to go thru the distributor. It is now July and I tell him I'll take even a partial refund to recoup my losses. I think it's ridiculous that I'm the one that has to hound him and chase him down when I'm the client every time. It's now mid October and several messages later I've simply been ghosted and out $700. read more

We were experiencing some occasional leakage from our refrigerator and Specialized Appliance Services was one of the top companies that showed up for our area. I sent message through Yelp and was able to get a quote and an appointment fairly quick. Aaron showed up, I gave him a description of what we were noticing and he found a crack under the drain pan. Replacement of the actual pan would've required additional help to lift the fridge, but Aaron came up with an alternative solution and was able to patch up the crack. This was fine for us since it saved us a nice chunk of money and there hasn't been an leakage since. I would highly recommend this company read more

I scheduled a service to diagnose our dishwasher and was given a 4-hour window for the technician to arrive. We waited the entire time, only to be told near the end that the technician was running late due to another job. What about us? Did we wait all that time for nothing? The next morning, we were rescheduled without anyone checking our availability. This company clearly doesn't value our time. We were promised a technician at a specific time, but they didn't show up and acted like nothing was wrong. How does this company have good reviews on Yelp? I definitely do not recommend them. UPDATE to Aaron's response: Again, there was poor communication REGARDLESS if I had informed him of my needing to leave the house for dinner by 6p on Friday. That does not allow him to be more flexible with MY time. At the initial appointment (Wednesday), AARON scheduled to come between 12-4p on Friday knowing of my dinner plans. Follow up appointment on Friday 12-4p: HE only told me that he would be running late when I texted him at 3:23p asking him about his ETA. He didn't take the initiative to contact me FIRST. I reluctantly rescheduled it closer to 5p per his request. Then I received another text at 4:51p stating he couldn't make it and to reschedule again for next Monday. I get that things come up BUT better communication is required here. If you know you're running late, I should not have to contact you first and letting me know about 10 minutes before our agreed upon appointment time that you can't make it is overall unacceptable. Regarding the $100 diagnosis fee, like this company, it would be put towards the total cost if the customer agreed to complete the service. In my experience with other businesses, I didn't have to pay until the service was complete to my satisfaction. It was my bad on this. ........... It's unfortunate I have to write this review after my experience today with this company (August 2, 2024). Aaron & I scheduled an initial appointment for a dryer repair on July 31st because our dryer was making noises. Without opening the dryer, he diagnosed it for $100 but didn't have the parts to fix it that day. Paid the $100 (my mistake thinking back at it) and was told I can pay the difference for the service when it's fixed - $350 total. Scheduled another appointment a couple days later between 12-4p. I texted Aaron about 40 minutes before 4p to make sure he would be able to make it within the time frame and was told he it would be closer to 5p. Received another text from him about 10 minutes to 5p stating he couldn't make it that day but can reschedule next Monday. I didn't have him return. Poor communication and overall interesting experience. Easy $100 though. read more

Our kitchen fridge wasn't cooling evenly, so I came on here looking for someone that specialized in those types of repairs. All of the reviews I read for Aaron at Specialized were extremely positive, and I can definitely see why now after having him fix our fridge! Aaron was super responsive, arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the issue, and immediately got to work on the repairs. He was done in no time, and even helped clean up the fridge after putting everything back together. I had some follow up questions after he left, and even those he quickly replied to when most would be done responding after the initial work. We received Aaron's contact from a friend. One thing that really stood out was his professional courtesy. Prior to even entering our home, he politely asked if shoe covers were preferred. This is something I would ask my customers and shows respect to the occupants. Love it! Our LG fridge had an EFF error for freezer frost. Aaron came out and gave us a quote for repair, which consisted of a board swap. Initial engagement was about 15min. We agreed to move forward and service window time was set. Took a couple of days for the part to arrive. He did the swap in just 25min, amazingly fast! He said the old board had a design flaw and the new one he put in had heating mechanisms in place to remediate the frost build up. Excellent service and highly recommended! My AC unit was blowing hot air on 7/12/2023,I called Aaron on the same day and made a appointment for the next day. He came in on 7/13 and went to work right away, he diagnosed the unit and told me that the capacitor most likely went bad. He replaced the bad capacitor and the AC started blowing cold air right away. The freezer in our 20-year-old Thermador built-in unit died. Several vendors either told us that it would need to be replaced (a $10k to $15k expense) or would require several thousands of dollars worth of repairs. Aaron came out, diagnosed the problem, and said he could fix it for a reasonable price. It wasn't cheap by any means, but it was a far more fair price than any other vendor. He ordered the parts and came back to do the repair as soon as they arrived. Unfortunately, the repair didn't quite work--there was a blockage in the line that was preventing it from cooling properly. Aaron came out the next day and got it working perfectly. There was a separate issue with a broken spring in the door that we had asked about, and Aaron ordered the part for that and came out yet again on a separate visit to repair that. It has been several weeks and both the freezer and the door are working perfectly. We're very grateful to Aaron for fixing the issues instead of just telling us to buy a new fridge. He was very polite and we felt he was honest and transparent about the issue and the risks of repair versus replacing. We'll definitely use him again for any future appliance repair needs. read more

My microwave door stopped working and I was able to determine the cause of the issue. Which was severed wires between the door and the unit. I asked different companies for quotes and all wanted to charge me a fee just to come out and tell me I needed to replace the door. Aaron from specialized appliance services reached out to me, looked up the part and determined my best bet was to buy a new microwave as the cost to replace the door would be more than the microwave itself. I attempted to fix the washer myself but was unable to get the part off. He gave me a price to look at my washer and replace a part that I had already purchased. He arrived, and he had to order a second part. Three days later, he returned, cut the broken part out, and a few minutes later, he was done. Since he was at the house, i asked him to service the dryer. He said no problem and completed the service promptly. Very professional and polite.
