We called Ramon after half of the house lost power. At first, the lights were flickering, but only in half the house. Then, the power pretty much went out, but again only in half the house. SCE came out and said the wiring behind the meter was damaged and overheating. We were afraid of it catching fire, plus we had people coming over that night and we didn't have power in the kitchen and half the house. I called a few electricians, but none of them could come out right away. And then I found Ramon. He came out in less than an hour to diagnose the problem. He gave us a very fair estimate and said he could do the work the same day. He immediately went out to get the parts he needed and then got right to work. The job was more involved than what he originally thought, but the price stayed the same and he finished in a few hours. SCE ended up coming back out later that night because we had called them for service before we found Ramon and they didn't show up for like 12 hours. The SCE guy insisted on checking the work we had done because he was skeptical that it would be adequate. He checked everything and quickly left, saying the work was done perfectly. We needed a bathroom exhaust fan for our second-story bathroom because even with a window the moisture from the shower caused mold to form on the wall. We used Yelp to put our project out there for estimates. We received several quotes. Remon's response was the most encompassing. He asked several clarifying questions. Then he asked if he could drive out from Corona to come see the project. I let him know that I could be home until late afternoon, and he said no problem and came at 7:30PM! Immediately, he began to assess the project. He went into our attic to evaluate our options. After his assessment, he walked us through his observations. He offered us what he thought was the best option and asked if we had questions. Then, he said, "Hold on, I thought of something else." He crawled back up into the attic and took pictures of his proposed plan that did not cut corners or make the installation unsafe. It was more efficient. He then walked me through his plan. Remon gave the least, best scenario in regards to cutting drywall to run a new line of wire for the fan. After the walk-through, he said he would create an estimate and email it to me. I received the estimate a few hours later that evening breaking down the job with a fair price. We accepted the bid and decided to move forward. We order the fan the next day. It was delivered on 6/7 hours before we scheduled him to come out at 6:30. Again, just as with the estimate, he texted me when he was on his way and provided an ETA. He started the project with minimal disturbance to my family. During the project, he would call me to ask for clarification on my preference such as the placement of the fan, which switch we wanted the fan to be on, etc. At the conclusion of the project, he explained the process of the job. Remon took pictures of the work in the attic and even had me peek into the attic to view the work. He also did his best to avoid having to open up holes in the drywall for the light switch. He didn't have to cut into the drywall! Overall, we had a great experience in hiring this company. Great communication, knowledge, workmanship, and follow-up. Reasonable prices without the upsell. I reached out to Remon to get help with installing a NEMA 14-50 outlet on my garage wall for an EV charger, and he responded within minutes. Scheduled a time to come out, and when he did, he looked over my wiring setup and explained all the potential options I had. As a relatively new homeowner, making these kinds of decisions is entirely foreign to me, so he walked me through the advantages of each option (install it in the wall so it lay flush, install a box sticking out of the wall, at different heights, etc), as well as any considerations that I wouldn't have thought of myself. Got a new treadmill that required a 20 amp outlet. I contacted T&J Services and Remon came out for an estimate. He was very professional and knowledgeable and gave me a very reasonable and fair quote, which required pulling a new #12 wire from my sub panel up and over the attic and down to the new outlet. First let me clarify there are two different T&J electricians in Corona. Remon is the owner of the only one that matters. It started when my electric car and other outlets were overloaded and a fuse blew- thought the circuit breaker needed to be replaced. I called my home warranty co abd bud they assigned my work order to a "T&J investment incorporated "in Corona. This was on 12/22...didn't hear back so I decided to check Yelp for the business then contact them directly and follow up on 12/26. This is how I got hooked up with the "T&J electric services" who had 5 stars and a good amount of reviews. Remon called me back almost immediately to clarify that he was the owner of the other company which was NOT contracted by my home warranty co. Since the power was out for a number of outlets in the house and we wanted it fixed quickly, I chose to have him come out the next day to repair it. He is an electrical engineer by trade and really knows his stuff. Remon had to literally check every outlet in the house and fixed a number of little things along the way. He figured out the culprit for the power outage and fixed it. Not only was he responsive, he was professional, polite and proficient in his craft. Also, he just gives off positive vibes. As we got to talking after he fixed our issue, I asked him for an estimate on some recessed lighting in a dark part of our home. He provided a fair price and scheduled the installation for the next week. I included pictures to show his work from his second visit - recessed lighting and dimmer switch- before and after pics. When going through a major home renovation and addition, you'll meet a lot of different people. Some good and some bad. We were really lucky to find Remon through our architect, Ramy, who said he was a personal friend and the only guy he uses to service his house with electrical issues. We were having issues with our home renovation circuit breaker box. The issue started when LA County inspectors required our General Contractor to switch out most of our breakers to AFCI, which would make them to code and alert us to any fire hazards from bad wiring. Our GC isn't the best and was trying to cut corners and we were having questions about some of our lights constantly breaking. Anyway, Remon came out for us and quickly inspected everything and was able to find the problem and fix it. It's unfortunate that we couldn't ask our GC's electrician to do this, since he's also cutting corners, so we were fortunate to find Remon to give us an honest answer and go into such detail on why this is happening and how the circuit breaker box should be wired. After speaking to Remon some more, he started to tell us he also does other technical projects, that we were also interested in pursuing, such as wireless access points or installing a TV over a large porcelain slab. These might seem like trivial projects, but having an expert in such a wide array of services is incredibly hard to find and if it was just installing a TV on drywall, I wouldn't mention it, but installing it over a porcelain slab is a lot more difficult. I think having an electrical engineering degree and also being handy is really a great combination that not many people have.
