While there are aspects of the spectrum packages and residents equipment that I'm not fond of, I find their customer service on the phone---and their mobile service/ repair professionals---to be so helpful. Most recent example; we just had a visit from a customer serviceman named Logan at an our large residence building in Winterhaven Florida due to a landline that was not working. He arrived on time, got to work immediately, and methodically analyzed the situation. Not only was the phone in question not working, but the suite it was in was receiving no power from Spectrum. He asked kindly of the building maintenance director to visit the tap room. He investigated and found that the entire spectrum service connection in the tap room was not working. He informed us that this would be considered a priority and that someone would come out within a day to get it back on track. Less than 12 hours later our building was back in business! I can't thank Logan enough for looking through hundreds of wires inside the hot outdoor Tap room to correctly isolate the issue. The resident whose non-working landline is now now working is overjoyed and grateful! And likely others are also benefiting from this amazingly quick fix! For many seniors and especially super seniors living in multi-resident facilities, their landlines are their lifeline to family, friends, shopping. and 911. I will show you why. The pictures show how they sent my aunts cell phone back to her. DO NOT GET SPECTRUM FOR ANYTHING. GET FRONTIER!! We had to talk to technical support 3 days in a row to get the moto e to work. No success, so we sent the phone back the way we received it. My aunt received the cell phone wrapped in bubble wrap with no packing slip or explanation why it was sent back. Those pictures are posted. There was no charger either. They claim there was excessive damage to the cell phone. Give me a break! My aunt is elderly and handicapped. The phone never left the house because we couldn't get it to work. Spectrum was new to my area as we are rural, they placed a line through my front yard, where we park and it has been there for 3 months. They sent a crew out to bury the line, but they only cut the hole never buried the line! My bill has gone from 54.99 to 61.99 in 2 months! And the internet is no better than what we had. I've had many negative experiences with Spectrum over the years and the latest round certainly did not improve things. Unfortunately, they are essentially the only choice for internet in our area so until someone destroys this de facto monopoly we will continue to struggle with their abhorrent customer service. It started on Friday night when our internet went out. I checked online for an outage report and upon seeing none I did the standard unplug and reboot. When that didn't work I called tech support who had me do an unplug and reboot followed by sending a signal to the modem. Neither worked. He said I could pick up a modem on Saturday or they would send a tech to my house on Sunday. I didn't want to live without internet till Sunday so I said I would go to the Auburndale location and pick up a new modem on Saturday. He noted this on my account, or so he said. I showed up to the Auburndale location (a 30 min drive) with my toddler only to be told they ran out of modems. What?! Ugh! It seems like they should have assigned the modems to people they knew were coming. I was irritated for sure, but thankfully they were able to schedule someone to come out Sunday. On Sunday a tech arrived at the house to replace the modem. All seemed well till I went to bed that night and the tv in the bedroom didn't work. We called Spectrum again. They would send a tech on Tuesday. Ugh! On Tuesday, I was at work, but my husband said the bedroom tv was now working fine. I came home, sat down on the sofa and tried to turn on the living room tv. It didn't work. Are you kidding me?! Every time they tried to fix one thing something else broke and it never occurred to anyone to check everything before they left? By this point my husband was upset too and when he called spectrum he had a representative who literally harassed him about signing up with spectrum mobile. With all the trouble we've had with internet and cable why on Earth would we want your mobile plan?! My husband does not get upset about this kind of thing, but even he was outraged by this representatives behavior. Finally, on Wednesday yet another tech arrived and this time I was there to make sure everything worked before he left, but this is the story of how a broken modem sucked 5 days out of my life. read more

If I could give them -5 stars I would. They have the worse customer service I have ever encountered, they say they will do one thing and don't do anything. I was bundled with internet and TV and called to have service for TV disconnected because my husband wanted to go back to Directv for the NFL package and they never turned it off. They charged me another month, after saying they took the harges off..they didn't they took the full amount out. I called again today and they still had not disconnected TV service! And they refused to credit my account. Oh and they will blame the customer for the mixup. How hard is it to follow customer direction? For Spectrum it's nonexistent. BRIGHTHOUSE IS NOW SPECTRUM???? NO, IT'S NOT! In EVERY aspect of their advertising, billing and online content you see the declaration, 'Brighthouse Networks is now Spectrum'. You see this prominently displayed on mailings, TV ads, and even on your monthly statement. Again, it says Brighthouse Networks is now Spectrum...... NOT SO......... I was just on the phone with 3 separate 'Spectrum' representatives, about my 'Brighthouse' account for almost THREE HOURS over a pending move issue! The first representative was excellent. I thought my issue was handled and all she had to do was hand me off to a 'retention specialist' to finalize my issue and it would be complete. During the almost 2 HOURS that I was on the phone with the first rep, she confirmed that I have been with Brighthouse Networks and I am STILL with Brighthouse Networks. She advised that IF I make any changes to my current service, then I would lose Brighthouse Legacy(as they call it) and I would become a Spectrum customer. OKAY.....SO AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO IS CONFUSED???? Oh, did I mention that once you get taken over by SPECTRUM you can expect a rather hefty RATE INCREASE? Believe it! Once I got 'handed off' to the retention specialist, the call went downhill real fast. It seems that I must be an idiot or I 'should' have known something I was not informed about as a customer. Apparently, Spectrum does not understand the concept of right versus wrong, doing the right thing and ultimately, The Customer is Always Right! The first rep had everything handled, or so I thought. But rep #2 made me repeat everything, again! Once I repeated in great detail, rep #2 directly discharged everything rep #1 had done. I would not get a fair treatment and he could do no more. After over 30 minutes with rep #2, I ended up talking with a rep #3, who purportedly was a 'supervisor' but yet had NO AUTHORITY? He had no authority to do the right thing and correct Spectrum's error! REALLY? I asked to speak to his boss or his bosses' boss, someone that DOES have the authority. That never happened, I just kept getting NO! How is it that NO ONE at Spectrum has the authority to handle my issue correctly, prudently and/or expediently? So, here I am....just short of THREE HOURS on the phone, with a sore ear, a near burn out and no customer satisfaction over a SPECTRUM ISSUE. My condo association recently made a deal for cable and internet in one package with our prior service being just cable; however, the new price was lower (even with internet). This deal started this month (June, 2019) and internet was scheduled to be installed 6/17 thru 6/22. This necessitated furniture moving since they have to install the internet box on the wall. I did as requested and sat around for the first two days. The only Spectrum vehicle I saw was on the road going some place else. Then they finally called yesterday to state installation would be delayed until July at the earliest and January, 2020 at the latest. Really? A six month installation window? I've heard of granting leeway but how about narrowing it down a bit? Meanwhile, we're paying for internet service we're not receiving and I have a hunch that more excuses will be coming down line soon. Oh, and just so you don't think I'm critical, the same exact thing happened at my other condo. We were promised internet one month and didn't see it for another two beyond that. read more

I had the "pleasure" of speaking to Kamela or Kameka (it was Kame-something but I'll call her Kameka) and James. The store in question is 1004 US Highway 92 W, Auburndale FL 33823. I already filed a complaint with someone on the main number. But I thought I'd do my due diligence and say something here. I exchanged my router for another as request by someone on the main number. Kameka gave me a modem. A device that looked NOTHING like what I given her. She did not even open the box to ensure she was giving me the correct equipment. I turned around and came back as soon as I opened the box at home (so about 20 minutes). I spoke to James this time. He had no visible nametag but Kameka addressed him so that's how I got his name. He had the attitude that suggested that he'd rather be elsewhere and was very dismissive of my complaints. Doesn't help that NOBODY moved with a sense of purpose. He did not even activate my equipment like he said he did. When I mentioned about Kameka giving me the wrong equipment, she had a very combative attitude insisting she gave me the correct one. As soon as I stepped out of the door (which wasn't closed yet), I overheard her saying that my equipment that I turned in was attached to the account. As if it was MY fault. I've had my account on auto-pay for years so I barely remember my login information as I don't use it often. Now why would I remove my device just to get a new one? Especially when I know they'd do that for me when I exchanged it? This isn't my first rodeo with them or this issue. I still can't get the internet. And the tech people can't be here until 48 hours later. I've told my mother, the owner of the account, to have Frontier on speed dial. We've been considering it for a long time now since we've had nothing but problems (seriously need to start paying me to fix their junk). But they've only recently became available to my area. If you are considering working with them, be sure to get everything in writing before installation. Their words mean nothing. They made it very difficult to cancel. I was questioned and made to feel I had to explain why I would make this decision. He then tried to push me hard on keeping basic cable. I called on 9/18 to have cable added to my home and was told a tech would be at my home Friday 9/20 between the hours of 10am to 11am nothing no tech came or called. The at 11:15am I reached out to the call center for help. I called to ask where is the tech to find out that nothing was schedule and no one placed notes on my account. Then was blind transferred over and over to have to continue to repeat my story over and over again. After being bounced around to five different areas (total call time = 1 1/2 hours, no exaggeration), they determined that by some error of their own, that we had been signed up for a "seasonal hold." They said our service would be restored tomorrow! After midnight, because a hold can't be put on and removed the same day by their stupid, antiquated system. Shortly thereafter disconnected our cable do to problems. Now we pay an excessive amount for Internet access. We have now had service technicians out here 6 Times 3 new modems in, Our yard torn up for a new cable from the Box to the house. Complained about 20 times. In the offer only one hour of credit after 2 years of service . Spectrum is awful. Service goes in and out, and for the last two days has been mostly out. When you call, you get someone in the Philippines, or somewhere, that has no idea what is going on locally! As the takeover of Brighthouse is complete they raised my rates $15 a month . Since I live in Brighthouse only apartment community I have no other option . My unit does not have a southwestern exposure for satellite . Not like I have a ton of features , zero pay channels 2 HD boxes a DVR box . Landline that i don't need but doesn't lower the rate . Medium internet speed , middle of the road TV channels , all for now around $190 a month . I'm sure my community gets a kickback for being exclusive which isn't passed along .
