Installer came over and immediately begins to tell me why he can only install the router in one area of the house. Well come to find it it's bc that was the easiest point of entry for him (those are his words). There was an older spectrum rectangular model box with the door missing and he didn't want to go thru the effort to install the newer oval shaped one (also his words). Please see picture of his method to by pass that problem. After I saw what he did I asked him why he didn't install the new box and he told me to much work. I asked him for the box and I would have to do it myself. I was aggravated to say the least, so I called spectrum and they sent someone out to fix it. I have been a loyal customer with Spectrum, previously Bright House, for a very long time. The past few years, my only service was internet. I originally had a 200mb service that was discontinued and had to choose either a 100 - or 500 MB speed, much higher cost, of course. I opted for the 500MB. I paid $83 monthly for this. The line speed never even came close to 500MB. At best, one test returned 205mb for download, upload speed, usually came in below 100MB. I called to have this addressed, and a tech came and did absolutely nothing. When I decided to disconnect, I was offered for a supervisor to come out and check things. Why didn't I get someone knowledgeable about the first visit? Why are current customers not offered deals that a new customer receives? The only time you will be offered a discount is when you call and say DISCONNECT ME, then you talk with a person who magically fined promotions that you can receive. I made the decision to change service, following the visit from the technician who did nothing to change the line speeds. My billing cycle starts on the 1st of the month. I have received a bill for a higher amount than I was paying since my promotion conveniently ran out. I canceled 3 days into my cycle, and Spectrum does not prorate. how convenient, and complete crap. It would be refreshing if businesses that we are loyal customers would reward that, instead of acting like they are doing us a favor. read more

Vincent from spectrum came to my home on a call to repair a cable which was hanging too low from my house in the back yard. A storm had lowered the line and it needed to be restored to its original height. I called spectrum customer service in the morning and as promised, Vincent showed up for repairs that evening. In spite of the line being very difficult to access due to overgrown shrubs near the house, an attack of massive wasps from a nest they had built inside the cable box, and other challenges, Vincent was very nice, respectful, and did an outstanding job under difficult circumstances. He completed the job in a timely manner and the cable was restored to its proper position. I would like to compliment Spectrum on hiring such an outstanding employee! read more

Went to cancel my mediocre service because I got over twice the speeds for half the price. They lied and tried to say their prices were now lower. Their website and the guy on the phone both told me that wasn't really true. But if you call and ask they will give you lower prices if they think you deserve it. Then they confirmed that even if it were true, I would have been grandfathered into the old higher prices until I called and asked for lower prices. I was already done with my service here, but that is the reason I will never use this company again if I have a choice. I know certain areas and even neighborhoods don't really get a choice so I may get stuck with them in the future... But I will not use spectrum by choice again. Also, service was just worse and worse over time because they also won't upgrade hardware or tell you about hardware upgrades unless you call and complain speeds suck. They also called again later to find out why I canceled. Even though I specifically told the agent to leave feedback about why I was cancelling. Turns out he did leave the feedback and they wanted to call and try and get my business back anyway. But as soon as I start explaining what they already have down, the agent starts to try and hang up on me. Strike 4, I want your business even less now. Their commercials are lies. Don't believe them. Their service and customer support is the WORST. They hide their phone number so you can't call. Chatting doesn't work either because they keep refreshing the chat and you have to start all over again. The internet service is sub par. It goes out whenever there is stormy weather. My neighbors who have a different service was never out even after Hurricane IAN. I just spent 30 minutes on hold after 20 minutes of navigating their menus and the guy finally came on and the call immediately disconnected. Just call me angry and just so done. read more

This was our 2nd trip as there isn't a direct number to check the days and hours of operation. Google and other searches didn't help. They are closed Sundays and we had to go in person to update our account and have it verified with a license. I opened the account and wanted to add my husband to it so he could have access. Why we needed to go into the store rather than update this on line is very inconvenient. I've had a technician in my home four times in eight weeks to correct issues with the system set up. It still doesn't run properly I have error, messages and blank screens and have to call at least 2 to 3 times a week to have them reboot the box to resolve the signal errors and as of this morning at 8 o'clock, I had no service at all due to a so-called outage that was supposed to be resolved by noon. I just tried calling two different customer service numbers that I found online. The first gave me an automated response basically stating they are very busy right now and suggested I call back 'later,' and then abruptly disconnected the call. It didn't ask me if I wanted to hold, or leave a call back number. They just hung up. The next number i called did not even connect to anything or anyone. I called it twice and both times I could not connect to any answering service (18557077328). This is just the tip of the garbage heap that is Spectrum. Their DVR boxes constantly break and cannot be fixed w/o being replaced. I am currently on my 4th DVR box since I started on with Spectrum just 19 months ago. Needless to say, whenever you replace a DVR box with a new one you LOSE ALL THE SHOWS that you had recorded for future viewing. So that's nice. Their cable service suffers random outages and distorted channels during prime time. I have unplugged our box numerous times during these and it doesn't fix anything (but that is what their techs would tell me to do if I called - or bring the box in and replace it). I could go on and on about their internet service. I wont bother commenting on the outages and bandwidth throttling because that seems to be par for the course in this new day of fake Pandemics and 90% of people 'working' (aka rubbing off) from home. But their services are very expensive and horribly overpriced for what you get in return. Cable tv has turned into almost a 50/50 split in commercials vs programming. Why do they find it necessary to lie to their customers? When I moved to a new address I was told I could keep the same service package at my new address. When they came to install, they brought more equipment to install and said I needed it for my service plan. Later received a higher bill than promised and told that's what it called for. After redoing the wiring myself, everything worked as before. I took the cable box that they were charging me $9.00 a month for back to them since I didn't need it to watch my TV. They wouldn't give me a receipt for the cable box and insisted that I needed it to get my programing which I didn't. I ended up leaving it on their counter and leaving. It's acat-and-mouse game just to have internet wifi and TV. They seem to be a monopoly and when there's no competition, there's no customer service. I have had Spectrum for 9 years going on 10 I've had trouble with my cable since Bright House was my provider they've been out here many times trying to work on my table and internet I didn't have internet for almost 2 years and they charged me for it and said I couldn't get rid of it I'd have to get rid of all my cable that was the pandemic well I finally got it restored but it didn't last long they sent me a new modem but it wasn't working right so I lost my cable and took my cable box to the store and I had to wait 2 hours to exchange it I couldn't hook it up when I got back because I had to call an ambulance and I spent two weeks Memorial Hospital because I have some bullets in me for decades and now they're attacking my immune system one of my immune system is taking them but anyway that's back in November so in January I told my I wanted to get rid of my cable but they talked me into keeping it and said they would send somebody out this went on for a long time and sending people out and they couldn't get it fixed well finally day came out and shut off said it was interfering with the neighbors cable but they kept billing me for it I told him to come get my box and stuff and had it sitting there waiting on them but they didn't come and get it until March but I still kept paying the cable bill I wasn't getting cable or Internet for they did give me a little credit but I've been paying months and in the hospital I was in the ICU unit and they kept calling me about their bill being paid I had no way to pay it cuz I didn't need a new credit cards cuz I was in there somebody told my credit cards I told him I couldn't breathe in US and I see you in it but they still kept calling me sometime two or three times a day wanting payment so I paid them when I got out the first thing I did and I still didn't have cable or Internet this went on for another couple months and went back in the hospital she would know cable internet still paying them so so this morning my doctor calls me and tells me he needs me to get in the hospital right away he told me to call an ambulance but I've got to keep trying to get this cable thing taken care of I don't want it to go on my credit but I don't think I should have to keep paying for cable they shut off because of their faulty equipment but evidently they don't see it that way and they don't care how sick I am they're going to call and harass me and give me a sec where I can't even breathe again it's so sickening read more

I am a spectrum user for my house including phone, internet and t.v.; their prices are high but service is great. decided to use them for my business in a separate location. I had a fair rate for internet and t.v. for exactly one year; after one year raised the rate 50%; remember the first rate was not magical only competitive. we are shutting down this connection as it looks like it might go up again; no "contracts" yes but be sure they will "monsterly" raise rates as they go - by the way , minimum tv connections at the getgo. When it works, the upload/download speed is superb. Doesn't necessarily need a drop of rain to stop working... Spectrum Movies on Demand are deplorable if you want to resume watching a movie where you last left off. Instead, they move you to an earlier portion of the movie, where you are subjected to multiple upon multiple commercials. Don't get me wrong, I'm a capitalist and understand commercials are a cost of viewing, but when you already saw the commercials when you were watching earlier it gets nauseating. Note that if they returned you to the original point where you left off earlier, you would still see scheduled commercials during the remaining stint, which I have no problem with. This company is a scam I moved into my first apartment at 19 and didn't know much about internet services so since they were suggested I went with them well I was paying almost $100 for 1gbps and after multiple testings I was only getting 600 Mbps and after having outages everyday for a year and on the only days im off, I love playing my PS5 but everytime I hop online the internet goes out and the maintenance goes on for over 10 hours it's never a short outage and with them they will only apologize for it going out and everyday so while I was at home one night a frontier sales person came to my home and offered me service so I took it and it was for 1GBPS at only $54 I've gotta say since the switch I've had no outages no WiFi glitches or lags and it's always been very smooth with the WiFi I've gotta say this spectrum if your telling me I'm paying for almost your top service which is supposedly $125 your the biggest scammer I've ever met cause there should be no reason I get the same amount of GBPS for almost $60 less than your package and I get better service at a cheaper cost sorry but you guys need to go out of business you shouldn't be offering service if it's just going to be mediocre read more

Two and a half hours total I was on the phone waiting for someone to help me. I wanted to cancel my TV service. To add service I got someone almost immediately, but to cancel service...nope took friggin forever. The first time I called I waited for over an hour but had to hang as I had things to do. The second call...after almost a thirty minute wait a woman came on and said that HER service was down (really? Spectrum isn't on top of it's own stuff?) and she'd like to bring someone online to help me. I said sure, thinking that it would be just minutes....almost an hour later another woman came on line. Not really pleasant...LOL, but then neither was I. It's been a long morning (into afternoon). Things I was told: my billing period ended on the 14th of the month was I sure I wanted to cancel? Yup, indeed I am sure. But of course they bill on a monthly cycle...so no refund for time not used: my 400 speed would increase in price (really? You guys suck the big one) but a 100 speed would cost the same as what I was paying for the 400 (really? I may go looking for another provider.); I was given the wrong information on the speeds (being given the wrong information seems to be the norm for Spectrum these days). Things have changed a lot since Brighthouse became Spectrum and not for the good. I am sooooo not a happy camper right now. read more

They raised our average speed internet to $79 a month. We decided to switch to Frontier fiber- much faster and much cheaper. On Feb 4 we retuirned the modem to the Spectrum store. On Feb 19 we paid $79 Thought we were done, right? On Mar 20 they charged us another $79, saying that is how they do their billing. I canont reach a human, I keep getting robots. When I finally did get a clerk, she informs me her system is not working properly and going to transfer me. Again, put on hold and 10 minutes later, I'm hung up on. Called back immediately, now I'm in another holding pattern for an additional 25-37 minutes for a call back. Now for whatever reason, I receive the call back but my phone never rings. So...Here I go again, round 3...Well...after 9 more minutes and the clerk trying to convince me to stay with them, have new equipment brought out, drop my pricing by $40+ dollars, it is done! If you don't have to use Spectrum, DON'T! The people that SELL you on the phone, and who come set up service are the best you'll get.... It's downhill in tv, internet and customer service from there. Service is usually okay, but not perfect or 100% reliable because service can be slow, I have brief outages of service, and intermittently random tv channels are fuzzy or interrupted. And , wait for it - when they screw up your bill, which they WILL, I SWEAR! they are complete morons! This is where they put on broken robots that sound like nice humans (even when they talk nice to you and say some of the right things - they will not be able to correct your bill with less than 5 calls and online chats - most likely more, because their bosses have given them broken systems. I know because I'm on the phone and on chat, AGAIN, with 2 more morons presently. ) My crime was retuning an unused receiver in person at their Bradenton location, even giving receipt information to 3 representatives, and stupidly thinking they could correct the account - NOPE. 8 weeks later and still not billed correctly, overbilled and calling over a stupid $8/mo credit. If they were worth it some people might not pay attention, but they are not worth it. Maybe next month I can call AGAIN and talk to another Moron following bad procedures of a crappy company who doesn't know what to do when a customer returns a receiver (um - stop billing them for it! - nope that's not what Spectrum does.) They put the nicest, most pleasant employees on level 1 and 2, then idiots from there on up to the very top - because this is not the first time, and I'm not the first person to call out the truth about their bad policy and procedures that stink. I read all of the negative reviews of this store and I was not happy when the tech told me I should switch out my modem and router. So I was there at about 10 minutes prior to it opening. The store opened at 10:00 and I was about number 8 in line. They only let one person per counter in the store which was 5 this morning. I was let in at 10:01 and was back in my truck with new equipment at 10:03. I could not believe it. I even told the man that waited on me Spectrum was 100 times faster than Comcast. I really wish there were cable companies that had service that actually work. When you pay for fast internet service . You should be able to expect to have fast Internet service. When you pay for HBO and Showtime. You should be able to turn to that channel and have a picture not a black screen that says it's unavailable. Now I'm scheduled for my second service call in a two week period. Hopefully this time they'll show up on time and get the job done right.
