I had finally decided to pull the trigger and change out my old receivers for the Xumo for both the TVs in our house to not only lower our bill, but to have everything on a streaming platform now. I only had to do a dropoff during this visit, and it was pretty quick and painless. I was taken right away by a very unenthusiastic employee, who quickly took my receivers and printed me out a receipt, confirming that I returned the equipment. I will have to call Spectrum later in the month to verify that they did remove the equipment from my bill since the Xumo boxes are up and running. This location overall is pretty big and clean. Very spacious and I was offered to take a seat while I waited, but opted not to since I sit all the time at work. After speaking with a customer service rep., I found one promising option and initiated the process, but hesitated after learning about the fine print at the last minute. I explicitly told the rep, several times, that I wanted to do more research before making a decision. She eventually became irritated and hung up on me. Johnny, who was extremely knowledgeable about the offers, went above and beyond to find the perfect plan for my parents. Went into today to possibly open An account and purchase a new phone. The store had two employees and 1 customer. I stood looking at them for almost 10 minutes and no one acknowledged me. I would give zero stars if i could. It's not just the worst internet provider I've ever had (since 1996!), it is the worst ANYTHING service I've ever had. In six months of servive, they've had to send someone to physically fix the line or replace my equipment SIX times. It sits untouched in a closet. I was told to call in and request a service credit for all the outages (both at my location and in the area as a whole -- it's unreal how often their service is down or just uselessly slow). When I chatted in for the credit--even though they have record of all the outages and all the service appointments, they offered me an $8 credit. That covers the amount of time they could verify. Service is complete trash! I'm here working from home. Kids remote learning and the service randomly goes out and has been out for over 3 hours! A rep tells me it'll be our up to two hours. Do the math. You know demand is high right now. This isn't the only time this has happened. Spectrum is literally the worse. Yesterday I had to transition from my old Time Warner Cable piece of shit cable boxes to the new Spectrum ones because we wanted to upgrade our internet service to a higher speed and if you change any part of your historic package, they make you shift entirely to a current Spectrum package. One of the worst cable & internet service providers I have worked with. We have had issues as soon as Charter Communications ( SPECTUM) bought Time Warner cable. Cable bills going up off the roof and internet signal getting week. Since Spectum came on board in 2015 we have issues every week and we call and they tell you everything is ok or they send their technician but the internet problem still persists. And in our Brooklyn area they have a monopoly which means they have all the cable wiring for all the buildings which means there is no competition. We have tried calling Verizon, Optimum and other cable & internet services and everyone has the same answer ' it's a Spectum monopoly area and we can't get in there'. It's ridiculous. And for all this crappy cable and internet service we're paying upwards of $215 and the bill just keeps going up. All of us in Brooklyn and every New York borough need to work together to kick this unfair business out of our back yard read more
