This company is sooo freaking frustrating. We spend a small fortune monthly to have TV and Internet. When I record a show, the recording timing on the Spectrum system cuts off the last 2 minutes of EVERY show. We had a really nice technician come to our home and fix the old refurbished box of equipment that they use. We pay full price and we get used/refurbished equipment. The DVR is out of sinc for the show times that are on the channels. They don't want to fix this issue for whatever reason. The rep said if we choose to come back I could for $30! Now you offer that. I'm currently trying to return my equipment. I'm 3rd in line. A rep told me it would be faster if I returned at a UPS store. For the time it took him to explain that, my equipment could have been scanned and I would have been on my way. We have returned our equipment in June. The store was very busy so we were told just drop it off and we will scan later. I guess later hasn't arrived because now we are told we have outstanding equipment and we have to pay. Our bill was triple by the time we were able to switch providers. Now they are sending us offers for 20$ a month. How of a sudden can you offer better internet for a fraction that I had to pay before. Had to select 1 star because I wouldn't be able to share my experience and as I can see I'm not the only one. Internet was very unstable and very pricey and now they want money for equipment that we dropped off in June. Frustrated former customer. read more

Many dozens of hours spent trying to clean up their system errors on my account. Finally fed up and tried to port number out to another carrier, that also took many hours across many phone calls and store visits. Finally ported out but Spectrum continues to bill me and pull money from my checking account via autopay. Now multiple calls to try and get that all credited and shut down. Horrendous customer service - at least 40-minute holds at all times of the day and then you are dealing with grouchy customer service reps who just repeat what you tell them back at you, but are not able to address any issues. I was paying $80/month for many years for their basic internet. They kept saying that the price is non-negotiable. The moment that AT&T fiber ($55/month, as fast if not faster, more reliable) became available I switched over immediately. Called Spectrum to cancel, returned their modem, right away and still got billed $85 for "not returned equipment", which is now a huge hassle to get credit back. TL;DR version: more expensive than competitors, understaffed (40-70 minute hold times at all times of the day), will have to fight them for wrong charges when you cancel. Avoid. read more

Absolutely the worst internet provider. I've been a customer for 20+ years and they have just lost me for good. They've consistently told me it's equipment or a line issue. We've swapped out modems, they've sent out techs, nothing has fixed the issue. Their billing department sends you to the repair department. The repair department can't issue credits for loss service. They send you back to billing. Billing says it has to be fixed before they can issue a credit. Repair department can't fix the issue. WTF. Can I rate a zero??!! read more

Worst Internet provider I've ever had. Our Internet hasn't worked in over a week and they finally sent someone out, and they couldn't get it to work. He switched the equipment 3 times over the course of 3 hours. Because now the network is down. What a joke. Pay for a month of their Internet and maybe get to use it for an hour a day before something else happens. Absolute joke of a company. Wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.Absolute joke of a company. I don't know how they call themselves internet providers. They can't provide internet. After almost a month of not having our service working for even one day, we've decided to cancel. They have sent out a tech, who stayed at our house for three house and left without it working. Because they were in an "outage". Called back and said it still wasn't working a couple of days later and then they said they were sending a supervisor today( another week down the road), but guess what, they cancelled. And there was an outage anyway so a tech couldn't help us anyway, at least that's their excuse today when they called. After arguing on the phone last week for over two hours the online support (NELLY) absolutely useless individual, gave me a refund of $2.66. That's what you get back for a month of their services not working..... And no date as to when it will be fixed. I've seen their vans all over my street this week, so obviously it's a problem with them. But instead of telling you that, they'll keep charging you and tell you it will be fixed soon. Legally they should have to refund every person who has been charged for services they haven't received. Don't waste your time and money waiting on these clowns to figure out how to do their jobs. read more

I have two issues. But before I list them let me say the service is satisfactory. I was frustrated that since I didn't have Spectrum Internet (I have Century Link), I couldn't stream some channels, but I understand. So with HBO and sports channels I was paying $120 a month. Expensive, but I could afford it. Then 14 month after I started service (14 months, not 12 months) I get an email saying my introductory rates were going to expire and my bill was gong up to $184 a month! This brings me to my second issue. Their customer service is nonexistent! I tried and tried and got nothing but computer generated responses. Finally after the 3rd day I got a human voice. She said I'd have to discuss my issue with a local store. We have a new store in Wentzville MO. so I went in to discuss my dramatic rate hike. The guy echoed my email and confirmed the price hike. He didn't care if I remained a customer or not. So in response I closed my Spectrum cable tv and went home to get the equipment. I now have FUBO TV and it works great. And it's half of what Spectrum wanted me to pay. read more

Went into the store on Mexico Rd to cancel my internet service August of 2023 just found out to day have been paying for the service on there auto pay system to date . Called to talk to a representative said service canceled as of today because they had no record of us canceling the service. The only saving grace for Spectrum is to go out of business in the State of Mo. their internet goes up and down the out. I called they sent 4 technicians in 2 weeks only to be told that a grounding block was faulty on trip 1 On trip 2 the technician replaced a wire splice On trip 3 he could find no problems On trip 4 he (Mike) said that he came from (Commercial) repair section on Spectrum what is that???? Store Manager Derick Driskill was the most rude person I have ever encountered. My 84 year old father had an issue with his flip phone was ordered by spectrum for him (who still uses a flip phone). To make a long story short, he wanted to buy a new Android phone. This guy was so rude, I called Spectrum corporate office while in the store to have them help my dad out. The guy from Spectrum corporate office was professional and very polite. While I was talking to the corporate guy on the phone Derick was yelling in the background. The corporate guy said everything was being recorded because he could hear him, the corporate guy asked me to hand my phone to Derick, Derick refused to talk to the corporate representative on the phone. The corporate representative helped me out on the phone. Instead of going to this store, call their corporate office and talk to a real professional. This guy was horrible. read more

I want to discourage people for using Spectrum TV. While their channel selection doesn't even come close to my previous provider, my big complaint right now is their blocking of Disney channels....which includes all ESPN and SEC channels. In the football season, this is unacceptable. Spectrum claims this is because Disney is raising rates. And Spectrum asks ME to contact Disney. NO WAY. I don't do Spectrum's dirty work. My previous provider NEVER blocked channels as a negotiation tactic....and certainly never asked the customer to do their negotiating for them. I'm so glad Spectrum doesn't have a contract....because, I'm outa here! My advice, avoid Spectrum TV. read more

I went to the spectrum store to return my DVR that I didn't need anymore and Crystal helped me and she was just fabulous. She took back the dvr and helped me change my tv plan and got a new modem with faster speeds, all for a savings that I wasn't expecting. Thank you so much Crystal. read more

Rates have gone up about $20 a month over the last year. We have had Spectrum for a couple years and it's gone up over $40 a month since we started with them. No other service is available except Centurylink over phone lines. We lose Spectrum service multiple times a day. TV service is constantly buffering. Their solution is to reboot the modem and WiFi unit, which we do frequently with no change. read more

This is on behalf of my sister who just moved from Illinois. Terrible company! I would never use them. When I first canceled my service they turned my cable and internet off a week early. I had to have them come back out and turn it back on. They tried to bill me first for a reconnect when it was their fault to begin with. Then they tried to first say that they sent me 4 invoices from September to November and I needed to check with the postmaster about not receiving my mail. What the heck? What company bills that often??? Then they stated I didn't return my equipment, when I took it to the Collinsville Store myself. I am an older person and went in to the Chesterfield store to upgrade my phone. After waiting 31/2 hours I retrieved my iPhone 13 Pro and was told it was ready to go. Not true. Could not make outgoing calls, receive email, or sync with my car audio. Made an appointment with the Mexico road store and was given a superficial explanation of how to resolve the problems. Tried. Idk why this store has a low review level! I had a minimal wait time! When you walk in you sign into the kiosk and they help in the order you arrive. They also sell cell phones now which is interesting. They had 2 guys working at the time. So it wasn't an issue on a slow day like the day I went. The gentleman who helped me was very personable and eased my fears on setting up my WiFi and cable boxes and got me in and out very quickly. They also helped me switch my billing issues around since I was using Spectrum in California. Install was easy since my husband helped me out, however their online phone line to activate the products, I was on hold for over an hour! But overall this is a great store for all your cable/WiFi needs. And would recommend them in a heart beat. read more

Not sure where to go, I am currently awaiting responses from BBB, and Spectrum. About a month ago I went into the Spectrum store in O'Fallon Missouri to upgrade my phones and add an additional line for my autistic daughter that needs a way to communicate it has been a nightmare ever since. I have been with spectrum mobile for over three years and haven't had many issues. We went into upgrade and everything seemed fine until they was a mix up with the added line taking over one of the other upgrades, they guys tried to fix but no one knew what happened, I walked out with three phones on one line after several hours of waiting, was told to come back so they had time to figure it out as manager wasn't available. Came back the next day still nothing. Came back a week later still nothing. At that time I asked to return the phones that I just wanted things back to the original set up with the old phones. They said they couldn't because they needed the manager that was still not available, mind you, you can't call the store directly so it can only be taking care of in person with trips to the store. I work 60-70 hour weeks and it's hard for me to make it when they are open. I was told the manager would be in on the 4th so I went in as that was 2 weeks after this whole thing started, he wasn't there. I returned the next day at this time I was told to switch providers that they couldn't figure out what happened so it couldn't be fixed. I then proceeded to get the phones returned so I thought. They refunded me for two of the four returned phones, and can't figure out how to refund the other two that is owed to me. I switched providers as suggested and spent hours trying to get all 5 lines set up with new company. Spectrum wouldn't release our phone numbers for mine and my husbands phone. We were getting ready to leave for vacation, which is why I tried to do this two weeks ahead of time. We now have spent multiple hours on the phone with customer service and no one is able to help. We leave for vacation and google requires two step verification with the phone numbers I no longer have access to because of spectrum, this now means all my cards are getting declined because I have no way to validate that it is me using them, we work very hard to take our vacations and this was a headache the whole time not to mention at this point idk what my phone number even is anymore. Get home from vacation and start calling again to see where we are at in this process and they said I need to call back in the 28 to check in with them. I am just at a loss I don't even know how to get help. They still owe me for two refunds and they sent me a new bill yesterday for 300 for services and devices that I don't even have. I have went in the store and asked them with tears in my eyes if they could please just help me and they said they can't help. Everything is above everyone pay grid and the pay grid won't contact me. The only commutation that I have received from them was the rejection of the refund and my new bill. I have been hung up on and have spent so much of my time on this I am beyond frustrated. There is no way to contact anyone at the company that can help me they just keep putting in escalating tickets whatever that means because after a month I should have been contacted. This company used to be this way years ago and for the last three years have been alright but after this I want to let everyone know how awful my experience had been I wouldn't wish this nightmare on anyone. I am very frustrated with Spectrum's call blocking. If you block a phone number and that number calls again, your phone STILL RINGS one or two times! They also limit the amount of phone numbers you can block. If you turn on "Do not disturb," your phone is not supposed to ring and the call is supposedly directed to your voice mail. This does not work, as your phone still rings! I have called customer service numerous times to discuss these problems and they always tell me "the engineers are aware of them", however these mystical engineers have done nothing to correct them in more than two years! Spectrum is also sneaky about raising its prices, and although we are paying for their fastest internet service, it is still often slow. I am looking for an alternative, and would have done so sooner but I just didn't want to have to change my email address and phone number. I am extremely disappointed in this company, and feel it is one that focuses on making a lot of money for very poor customer service! read more

After calling to switch services to another provider because of a move I was talked into waiting for a new survey as it was currently not serviceable. After waiting almost two weeks using our cell data the tech showed up 10 min late to tell us there was no way to service the house and that Charter was aware of this 10 days prior. (Tech was friendly) If they ask to have a survey at your home save your time and go with another provider that is already established at that property. Charter failed to communicate the issue with me. They have now lost a previously loyal customer for a lifetime. read more

They're customer service is very bad. They'll act like they know what they are doing but then you'll end up making 3 trips there because they did something wrong and don't know they're stuff. Spectrum cable and internet are awful. If I could give a negative rating I would. No worst can describe how much we hate this service and how horrible it is. With cable menu hardly ever working right, on demand is not much better. Nothing like being on the middle of a movie or recorded program and have it stop and not be able to get it to work because of whatever issue is going on with the service or our defective equipment. I was talked into getting the new "Apple TV" (which isn't a TV...it's a cable box). Rep on phone insinuated it was the only option I had! The "new" box. After less than one week, my husband and I hated it! The remote is smaller than a cell phone, and as thin as a credit card! Barely touch it....something weird happens. We called and got the "old fashioned" cable box which we love, but now told WE CANNOT RETURN THE "APPLE TV".....and we have to KEEP PAYING FOR IT FOR SOMETHING LIKE 2 YEARS!! Spectrum is the cornucopia of frustration for all your home appliances. I purchased a bundle of TV and internet (400mbs) and the internet was constantly dropping several times per day. I upgraded to the 1 Gig internet to address that problem and cancelled my TV. I was charged $50 for a tech to come to my house and finish the installation. The technician retrieved the cable equipment that we no longer needed when he was done with his work. The speeds were better, but the coverage was still patchy. Fast forward to today, I notice my account balance was high. I check my bill and noticed I am being charged for.... (drum role)... TV! I am being charge for TV service AND TV equipment rental! I called Spectrum - the usual 25 minute phone hold to speak with anyone applied - and this remarkably rude lady informs me that I never cancelled my TV service and that the notes show I called to cancelled but not actions were taken. Thus, she couldn't help me. I was supposed to pay for a service I never received (because I don't have the equipment) and that I cancelled two months ago. I called AT&T and set up service as soon as possible. Then, called Spectrum to cancel EVERYTHING on the day I'll be getting the service from AT&T. To my surprise - and after another 25 minute hold period -, I was connected to the only competent person employed at Spectrum (her name was Cecilia) and she managed to assist with my request. After documenting the account and submitting the cancellation request, she suggested to transfer me to the Billing Dept to see if they could remove the TV charges from my account. Another 25 minute wait period and a young man answered the line. He informed me that since the cancellation had not happen yet, because I still want internet until AT&T installation is completed, he couldn't help me. I needed to wait until it was cancelled before he could assist. I repeated what he just said in complete disbelieved, and a light bulb when on somewhere. He then informed me that if I waited until the service was cancelled, that would fall outside a 60 day window company policy and he wouldn't be able to help. In other words, he couldn't help now so I should wait, and once he could help, then company policy would prevent him from helping. See if that makes sense to you because it was the stupidest thing I heard all day. He suggested I wait another 25 minutes and talk to a cancellation specialist (the same department where the rude lady that began this odyssey works) to cancel my TV service, for real this time, thus making a complete circle in my customer service experience. From one department to another, to another, back to the first department to cancel a service that I cancelled two months ago so I would not be charged for a service I didn't received. STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! I would give it negative starts and an oversize middle finger if it was an option. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Charter for many years. However, that loyalty is not appreciated or rewarded. Recently I contacted their customer service online chat. I was soon offended by the rudeness of the agent that was signed in. She was impatient and threatened to "time out" the chat when my question regarding the high monthly fees, apparently, took too long for me to type. When I suggested I could take my business else where, she offered no apologies for her rudeness, simply asked for my address, etc. The conversation went down hill from there. My question was regarding the much advertised $29.99 bundle for TV, Internet and phone, which I have been subscribed to for many years. She regurgitated information I already knew, regarding what services I currently have and what I am being charged. Then she curtly typed she could not discount Charter services for me, although my "concerns were justified". Needless to say, I am currently shopping for different services. I am most likely to go back to the ala cart services with different companies. That seems to be the only way one can get a fair price. read more
