The worst. I have to cancel my service. I called the 800 number, but they said I had to go to the store to cancel because I have to return the equipment. I made an appointment to return the equipment and to cancel the service. I arrived for my appointment. They could not "recognize" my appointment because THEIR INTERNET WAS NOT WORKING! So, after waiting in line, I was told they could not process my cancellation BECAUSE THEIR INTERNET IS DOWN. The woman said she would give me a paper receipt since, in her words, "You seem like you are in a hurry." (Should I just to stand around waiting for your to try to get internet service?) So, what am I supposed to do? I am supposed to call the 800 number which--I think--is where I started. This reminds me why Time Warner Cable spent millions to get rid of the name TWC and replace it with Spectrum: because their customer service reputation was so bad. Perhaps Spectrum might reconsider. Or at least have functioning internet in their offices so they can transact basic business. So now I'm on hold on the 800 number for the service I should have been able to do when I drove to the office. If given the choice, I will not use Spectrum. I will certainly not use this particular Spectrum office if they don't have internet service. read more

IF I had my options, and I really dont, I would NOT ever use this cable,internet provider. The old Time Warner was stellar, over the top, superb customer service. For 16 years, I have been giving them accolades, and would have loved to deal with them at home. (Comcast is the worst) NOW, Spectrum is right there with them, no care about retaining satisfied customers, and really shows they could care less. I was taught, make them smile, and they will stay and tell all their friends. As of yesterday, not happy!!! Spectrum took all the great options away from their employees, and its just wrong. There is a way to circumvent the rising fees, but what a silly time consuming way to deal with unhappy customers when it can be SO easy to fix. Cancel, then go sign up as a new customer, THEN you get the deal. Then, next year, do it again~!! Why not just take care of folks, like Time Warner used to!??! In the future, Spectrum should be honest with it customers and inform them upfront of the exact consequences and impact software updates and modem replacements will have on both intelligent home functions and connection to the internet. It cost me $39.99 to have Linksys re-establish internet connection after Spectrum replaced its modem and updated its software. Shame, shame, shame Spectrum. read more

I went in on Friday Dec 8 at 3 PM. I only had to wait 13 minutes before my number was called. The counter was processing people pretty efficiently. While I was waiting I was idly browsing different Spectrum options on my phone. My number was called and Maggie greeted me very cordially at the desk. She asked what spectrum services I had, which were none. I was really only interested in Internet. She asked if I had any other TV services from another provide and I explained that I actually had subscribed to DirecTVNow at my other address. She suggested it might be more economical to bundle Internet and one of the television options from Spectrum. She worked her magic on the screen I put the same option on my phone. She asked me about interest in any specialty channels and I explained to her that HBO at a minimum was a must have. She suggested the silver package and came up with a dynamite price. In addition she explained that I would get Showtime and Cineplex. That was even more exciting! Inadvertently while I was messing around with my phone I actually placed the order online. I felt awful for her not getting credit for the sale. She promptly got my equipment and I was on my way out the door in less than 12 minutes. I'm going to save a lot by canceling my DirecTVNow subscription and I really appreciate Maggie explaining my options and getting me a bundle with 3 specialty channels at a competitive price. I somewhat dreaded going down to the Spectrum office but I have to say Maggie made it a very pleasant and personable experience. I wish there was a way for her to get credit for the sale and even more, recognition for her outstanding attitude and customer service. read more

Spectrum allows you to suspend service, but you have to suspend all or nothing! I wanted to suspend cable only and I can't (in case I go up for the weekend). Not only that, but you are charged $15 plus taxes (monthly) for these suspended services! Total rip-off. No choices for cable or internet (anywhere). Wow! Just when we thought it could get no worse than Time Warner and Comcast, then comes Spectrum. I was on the phone for over an hour and a half while they try to figure out what they need to do. They focus on new customers giving them deep discounts so they screw them once they are connected. Then after a year of service your bill jumps up over 40%. Stay clear if at all possible. read more

I hate to even give one star. In the aftermath of a flood in my mobile home, I'm putting in new floors - changing from carpet (which covered/hid the cable) to laminate which requires the cable to go underneath the floor. It means laying cable from one end of the house to the other. I described the job to the service dispatcher and he made an appointment for between 6 and 7 p.m. I told him that was kind of late for work requiring daylight but he assured me it would be fine. Tech called after 7 to say he was delayed and I said to come immediately or he wouldn't be able to complete the job by dark. When he arrived 20 minutes later, he didn't have enough cable! Another appointment was made for the following day between 3 and 4 pm but nobody showed. Nobody called either. The third appointment was made after a lot of unpleasantness from me to Customer Service and even then the tech was over an hour late. He looked scared when he saw me and I said he was lucky I am Post-menopausal. Once he realized what the job was, he could not perform it without charging me for an additional line. I modified the order to just one area but let Customer Service know that they provided no service and when they did, it was very poor service and that I was no longer a customer. I want desperately to have a new career as an Anti-Time Warner advocate. These greedy, mean-spirited corporate mentalities are polluting our humanity with their self-serving interest and lack of respect for others. A pox on all their houses! read more

The office is always busy with long waits. I recently moved within the same condo complex where time warner was the carrier for TV as part of the association dues. When I moved I was told I could not duplicate the phone and internet service I had bundled with the TV. I was also told my the installer that a cable into one of the rooms would not be possible. Lazy workers. A friend did it for me! The products were no longer available. Well, come to find out the products are available but, at a higher price. I was told that at 64.99 per month for internet (vs. my 14.99 with time warner before the move) would be wonderful at 100mbps. However Customer service says that the best they can do for me is 60 mbps because 100 is not available in this area. Who is lying? Meanwhile, the ads everywhere for Spectrum say 100 for 29.99 when bundled with phone and internet. Spectrum needs competition. read more

The girl at their center talked me into a bundle. There was a few really nice DVR boxes on display, she had me the equipment, once I get home, I got a closer look at the used, beat up, dirty, DVR she handed me. It had so much dust inside and outside, I was shocked she would even be proud to give this DVR to a new customer. The machine didn't work for the first 3 months, I called every 3 weeks, I was told the DVR wasn't downloading updates, I was instructed to unplug it every week to reboot with all the updates (what a Hassel). I finally requested a new DVR, which didn't fix the updates, the shows I would record would always have problems with the audio, so I missed a few episodes. A few times, they would just send Time Warner repair guys to my place on the weekend to see if was happy and if I was interested in upgrading? Are you kidding me? The cable was horrible; the high speed was worse. It would always shut itself off, if I had more than two items (my computer with my PS3) going together, the service became so slow. After 6 months, I returned to Direct TV. read more

I called Time Warner Cable today at the local phone number and spoke to Steve in sales. I wanted to upgrade my internet service to the next level up from the standard service. Steve assured me he could help with that and immediately upgraded my service to the Ultimate 50 which doubled my monthly cost. I confirmed with Steve that the Ultimate 50 was the next level up as it was very expensive. He again assured me that it is the next level up. Well, guess what, he LIED!!! The Ultimate 50 is the highest internet and most expensive. The next level up is Turbo, then Turbo Extreme, then ULTIMATE. I called back and spoke to billing instead of sales, they confirmed that my account had not been upgraded to the next level of internet service as I had requested NUMEROUS times. The billing department immediately corrected my pending order with a $10 increase to my bill. I filed a complaint with the supervisor Shannon about Steve's LIES!! I doubt my complaint will go anywhere. I do think everyone should be educated before dealing with the lying sales reps at Time Warner Cable. read more

I only got internet, 15 mbps for freaking 53 bucks. I receive something in the mail today where it says 35 bucks for a 50 mbps. I called them up and they tried to sell me some package deals with tv and cable etc. I felt like I was forced to buy a package deal. However, I kept telling them about the 35 bucks i saw in the mail and they told me "you can't, because you just signed up with us you have to be a new costumer". I told them I am new and just signed up less than a month ago. They said no and kept offering me these other deals. Anyways, I hate this company but what can you do. Need internet. Time Warner is now Spectrum. So they are trying to put lipstick on a pig. The new Spectrum commercials which are on constantly, declare how fabulous they are. How they are going to be the best in the world. Yeah, yeah,yeah. Talk is cheap. Apparently Time Warner was the second most hated company in the U.S. The most hated was another cable company called Comcast. Spectrum is actually Charter Cable, which is also a hated company. Since Spectrum took over, the speed on my internet has gone down from 50MBPS to 16MBPS. My cable tv has a new guide system Spectrum introduced that is one of the most annoying, convoluted systems ever developed. Using the DVR, one now has to click so many times to delete a program or do almost anything, it is a joke--but not funny. They advertise that we can now make an appointment at our local store since normally there are almost always 30 to 40 people waiting for one of the two or three employees to call your number and these employees have the sense of urgency or speed of a sloth. So I looked up how to make an appointment at my local store and not one of the stores in my area take appointments. There are only 18 stores that make appointments in the state of California and the closest one to me is over an hour away. Before getting Spectrum (Time Warner), be sure to look for one of the other options, though none of them have high ratings from customers, sadly. read more

This store sucks. I have had to visit there 3 times in the last 6 months to replace either my box or remote as they stopped working. Each time I had to wait over an hour. There are 4 desks but never 4 customer service reps working. If you are lucky there may be 3 at certain times but they keep on disappearing so there is usually only 2 or sometimes down to 1. What kind of business provides such a poor customer experience. It is disgusting. Direct TV or another competitor should hand out flyers to Time Warner customers. I am a Time Warner Business Class customer. I own a small Bed and Breakfast in Palm Springs. I have been trying to get digital convertors for my B&B since February. I have either spoken to my account rep. and/or emailed him almost weekly and STILL don't have DTAs. Worse yet, now my rooms do not even have cable service. I was told that the switch to digital would not happen until the DTAs were delivered and installed but that appears not to be the case. I have called everyone from my local rep., to his boss, to the local office, to business customer service, to general customer service and no one can help me. On a separate note, I also wanted to order STARZ and no one can even help me do that!?!? What sort of business cannot make a sale of one of their products?!? You see those commercials on television about Time Warner improving their response time but it's a meaningless message if they can't even get something scheduled. I've had other cable companies in other parts of the country but never anything this awful. I really think the only reason this company is able to survive is because they virtually have a monopoly, especially when it comes to business services. read more

Time Warner has to be a joke. Amazing how they stay in business. I have a Verizon bundle with Directv, DSL and land line. I have been a Verizon customer with the same # for about 19 years. Time Warner comes along with a price that was too good. I called and was placing an order and asked about premium channels. I asked if like Directv, would I have 5 HBO'S and east coast feeds. The rep informed me that there was an extra charge which brought the price just about what I was currently paying with Verizon. I cancelled the order or so I thought...A few weeks later. I see this beat up truck drive up and it's Time Warner ready to install. I informed the person I cancelled and he left. Later, I pick up the phone to make a call and get a recording. I could make no calls. I called Verizon and they found that Time Warner had ported my #. So now I had to start with new service and a new # with Verizon. The only way this inept company stays in business is with lack of competition with cable. I highly recommend Directv for outstanding customer service and picture quality. read more

Go with ANY other service! TWC is now haunting me for 3 years, re-billing for payments already made. Major regrets ever using them and what was I thinking, trying them a second time! And, the tech did not have any others in the truck, so he drove from Palm Springs to Palm Desert for one. Installed the new one. Tech gets into his truck to leave, and all my services go down, so I run out the door to catch him. Wait...there's more. Then, TWC has the audacity to charge me $40 instead of $60 for the installation because of my 'loyalty'. I disputed the fee and it was removed. Then my revised statement reflected a $40 travel fee. I don't remember the exact wording, but to that effect. I phoned TWC to dispute that! It was removed. I cringe when having to have TWC do anything at my residence because they always create a new problem. The promotion was suppose to be $49 monthly with free DVR for 12 months with $100 Visa Gift card. I asked when signing up what the exact price would be and was told $49. When the bill arrived totaling $53 I called and was told it was because if taxes and other fees. When I asked about the $100 visa gift card I was told to go to switchtwc.com and enter my information. Bullshit. The site asked for my previous billing information. 3 months later I get a bill for $76. I call again, the guy on the phone looks at my account and agrees the DVR service was suppose to be free for 12 months. He says he will adjust the bill and make a note for future reference. He didnt. Instead we call back and find out we are still being charged the $76. I ask to speak with a manager but they only transfer me to another agent. I ask again to speak with a manager and the "lady" says she will not transfer to speak with a live person but I can leave a voicemail if I like. So now i'm being told the DVR service is only free for 3 months and we will have to either pay the $76 a month (for CABLE!!!!) or return the DVR and switch to regular cable. I call the local number. The "lady" says she is terribly sorry about the "mistake" but if i just return the DVR box they will issue a regular box and I will only have to pay the $53. At this point i'm so annoyed I agree to return the DVR box. So I visit the center and guess what the ignorant, retard customer service "lady" says....the regular box costs $10 extra to have which means my monthly total would be $63 supposedly because it was an HD box. I said fine keep the box. She explained that if we didn't keep the HD box we would be canceling the "special promotion" and would have to pay the usual price for basic, shitty cable. $58! I wouldnt believe this so when I returned home I call and asked about that promise of a visa card. Guess what? You have to wait 6 months to get it and oh because I downgraded from the DVR box to the HD box I no longer qualify. I did the math and guess what? If I paid for the DVR service I would be paying $23 extra per month. $23 over 6 months is $138! So If I went with their little promotion I would have paid $138 extra to get a $100 visa card! Nice. These people are master scam artists. The sad fact is they're pretty stupid. Pissing your customers off will not result in anything but the failure of your little business. We are the ones making you rich. You wont be getting another cent from me and from the looks of things not a whole lot from other people either. So what good does scamming people do when in the end you're just losing money? WARNING: DO NOT GIVE THEM A CENT!!!!! Anyone interested in filing a class action lawsuit let me know. read more

Had TWC as our Internet Service & TV Cable provider for 9 years and the service was great. We needed to relocate from North Carolina and I wanted to cancel some services. That became an incredibly frustrating exercise with arrogant & rude service people simply not listening and wanting to sell me different "Bundles" of services!!! We then, stupidly I know, decided to use their Intelligent Home system as we already had the basic internet service with them - hopeless is the best way to describe everything about it and the customer service is simply inept - as someone else said - they have clearly overreached in trying to provide this service. They could not trace our property/system by our property address or our names - only by our then discontinued TWC home phone number! We will be cancelling the service as soon as our initial 12 month contract ends...but not looking forward to the discussion with TWC to action that! This is a company that clearly just wants to get you as a customer but then customer support is really non-existent...unless you want to buy another "Bundle"!!! read more

Said the plan was good till May and first week of Feb they took away three more stations, one of which was another favorite. LIARS and they did same kind of antics to neighbor with their internet. With all due respect (which is actually NONE), Time Warner employees simply do not have that part of the brain that says "Don't lie, its immoral, unfair, and in business contracts, actually illegal". Time Warner insists all of their employees lie. It is part of their business model. Its probably not even the employees fault, and they might not even realize they are lying. But what you can depend on is that anything you are told is simply not the truth. Promised a certain fee per month? Its guaranteed to go up after one month. Promised a certain internet speed? Its always about half of whats promised. So what can you do? Well, you could do the "client retention bullshit", but Ive found that the most effective solution is to LEAVE Time Warner and hook up with say, Directv. Then after a year when Directv pulls the same shit, go back to Time Warner. It sounds crazy but both companies are depending on you to be too lazy to do this. It works quite well at keeping prices in line. I just downgraded my review to 1 star. I just spent 2 hours on the phone trying to get into my account. In my honest opinion, this company is the worst most poorly run company on the planet. It used to be Builders Emporium who held that title. Now its Spectrum. But Builders Emporium never tried to steal from me. With Spectrum, stealing and lying is simply built into their business plan. read more
