This last time I had my oil changed, I realized that I left my wallet at work. When I confessed that I didn't have my wallet, they just opened the garage door and said that if I couldn't find it by the time they closed, I could come back in the morning and pay. They had total trust in me that I'd return and pay (which I did, promptly) and they didn't roll their eyes or anything.

I got my car towed there and it took them over 2 weeks to get it diagnosed. I was an hour away…read morewithout a car and could not get to them. The work they were asking to do was about $1000 and they said that still may not have fixed it. I told them at the time I would try and get them the key when I could. A few more weeks went by and they called to tell me that I need to come get the car or it would be junked. They then wanted to charge me $500 for a holding fee (which is illegal without a prior warning or receipt). I was never able to get the car back.
