After having my passenger window broken out and my stereo stolen I turned to speedway Chevrolet for parts. I bought a window and a rear wheel for $1000 . I wanted to support my local dealer. I found a Chevrolet faceplate from GM on line and a stereo from a certified reseller $400. Unfortunately with new cars you need to have your stereo reprogrammed at the dealer. I was quoted $150 !!! Made the appointment begrudgingly. An hour and a half later they told me not only couldn't they program my stereo now my control panel is dead? Still they charged me $189 and told me it was my fault for not buying the stereo from them! Called GM customer service. They were no help. Never dealing with this dealer again nor buying a Chevrolet. Great price for an oil change and tire rotation on my Silverado. The service staff is exceptional.

I took my car here for an oil change and had a decent experience. When I came back to have my spark plugs done, they quoted me an outrageous price. Literally twice as much as what I paid to end up having someone else do it. So I decided I would no longer use the dealer, which is a disappointment as I would have preferred using the Chevy dealer on my Aveo. To add to this unfortunate experience, on my way to work today at around 7:25am, I was tailgated, highbeamed, and cutoff by a large Chevy Pickup Truck, the guy ended up slamming his break once he cut me off almost causing an accident on 522. Needless to say I followed this most unpleasant individual as they were going the same route I take to get to work, which goes right by the dealership. As you guessed, they pulled in there. Knowing what time the dealership opens, I can only assume this person works there. If these kinds of people are treating drivers around them with such dangerous driving and lack of care for public safety, I have no interest in ever going back there. read more

Do not go here! I was sold a used explorer from them that was in "fabulous condition" had an extensive exam on and was a great purchase. I took my car into my mechanic to get a routine oil change done on it along with them looking at some noises the car was making. I get a call from my mechanic saying "this car of yours looks like a chop shop worked on it" hoses were twisted, the "premium rims" that came on it were ruining my suspension and jacking up the brakes and rotors. The rims aren't even meant for my vehicle! The list goes on. I spent every single penny I had on this car! After begging and pleading with them all day about helping me out someway some how, they come back with the bs answer of "we will help you get into another car". I am a single mom with 3 kids and a student!! I have no way of buying a new car. Needless to say, I had to spend $1,300 to make my car "safe to drive". Plus now I have to go spend money to buy new rims so my car doesn't get messed up again. Don't ever trust the words that come out of these sales men's mouths! This place will scam you!! read more

Beware of buying a used car from here. I bought a Chevy 2500hd after a week I started noticing alot of smoke coming from the exhaust. Took it back and they told me 3/4 of the injectors were bad. There was a recall on them but because another dealership fixed only two of them six months back I was going to have to pay for the whole job. My wife and I purchased a 2007 Suburban and really enjoy it. Being a used car we were aggressively sold the "bumper to bumper" extended warranty. Well, three years in and three issues later....all that should be covered from that warranty were denied. This was after the service department told us they were very very confident the warranty would cover the repair and so they started the repair. Yes, the warranty company is to blame but the sales department misrepresented what the warranty would cover and it still amazes is that all three issues that should have been covered were magically not. So where do I start??? I've not purchased a used vehicle in literally decades so I've only purchased autos new from the appropriate dealerships. The reason for this Glowing Review is I'm very gunshy of used car transactions and these guys were simply awesome! I've been looking locally (Portland, OR), on eBay Motors nationally and Craigslist regionally for a very specific low miles SUV. They posted the "perfect" rig on Craigslist a couple of weekends ago, I saw it, called them, gave them a CC deposit to hold it until I could get up to Monroe (where exactly is that?!) and see the vehicle in person. Shane picked me in Seattle a few days later and took me to the dealership and it was EXACTLY AS THEY DESCRIBED IT! I was nearly shocked! Honesty regards a day old trade-in, wow! So Shane and Joe were totally swell to meet and work with and I drove the barge (a Navigator) back to Portland later that afternoon. The title followup has been very smooth as well and I can't give them higher marks for dealing with a one-off out of state buyer like me. Good Job!!! read more

My husband I went to Speedway to take a look at their inventory, it was the last stop of the day before we started another long day of car shopping the next day. We were expecting the usual pushy salesman just trying to sell a car and not listening to what we want or of course, "Can you increase the amount you are willing to spend?" Like we had been dealing with ALL DAY LONG. Speedway Chev was a breath of fresh air! Chase was the one who helped us (DON'T let his younger age fool you! He knows what he is talking about) and was not the least bit pushy! He listened to our story of what happened to our previous vehicle and really listened to what we wanted. He asked for a price range and he showed us what was to offer. He even brought us inside to see if there were any other vehicles that we would like to look at as they have other lots besides the one we were looking at... news to me nobody had ever offered that before! We found the perfect vehicle EXCEPT I felt as if there were a dog coming with it. (it had just arrived on the lot) I jumped out as quickly as I could because I am allergic and Chase apologized profusely. Why do I tell you this? BECAUSE THE SMELL IS GONE!! After talking to Chase, He didn't push, he just told me of a cleaning they have there that gets the smell out and IT WORKED! Ozo something. I then talked to Chase about adding heated leather seats and he showed me prices and again NO PUSH. He was very RESPECTFUL ( a rare thing in a car salesman!) of our wants and budget. My husband is due to get a car soon and we have NO DOUBT that we will be going to Speedway Chevrolet to see Chase again! I can honestly say that this was the most ENJOYABLE car buying experience I've ever had! Before Chase I always felt like I walked out of a battle, but this experience I walked out feeling relaxed and EXCITED about my purchase! Thank you Chase for taking such good care of me and my new to me SUV and for dealing with my numerous phone calls with questions I had for you! Speedway Chevrolet were great folks to deal with! We got the car we wanted at the price we wanted PLUS a $700 Costco Gift Card!!! First, we went to Dwayne Lane's Chevrolet in Arlington because it was closer to our house and we got the "car dealer run around". We test drove the car we wanted at Lane's, but it seemed like Lane's is your "typical System House". I gave them our target price and they offered me FULL PRICE and a Costco Gift card for $700 as a discount! They held fast on trying to get the FULL sticker price of us. No thanks. We walked. We then went a few miles south to Speedway Chevrolet in Monroe. We ended up getting our target price + the $700 Costco gift card from Speedway! Guess where Speedway got the car since they didn't actually have the exact car we wanted in stock? Up the road at Dwayne Lane's!!! (the car we test drove!) Dwayne Lane's ended up giving Speedway the car we test drove at Dwayne Lane's, on a dealer swap & Speedway made the profit! Lane's wouldn't come down in price so they lost the entire sale. Sure Speedway made less profit, but they made the sale which helped their month end bonus and their year end total bonus. And they produced a happy customer who will recommend them all day long! Who would you rather deal with? A System House who doesn't give a hoot about what "you want", or a dealer who wants you as their customer and will work with you? No truer words were ever spoken... "On average, a Satisfied Customer will tell 3 people about his good experience but a disgruntled customer will tell 11 people!" I'll recommend Speedway Chevrolet in Monroe any day of the week! Just had my trucked looked at by a third mechanic and just like I suspected the $650 they charged me for the control band and upper ball joint they supposedly replaced was never replaced. It's still the original from when it was bought. These are the same people that told me I had to buy a new console if I wanted to replace the latch because it's one piece. Little did they know I had already taken apart and had the latch in my hand. It's a $7 dollar latch not $300 dollar console. This is the absolutely worst dealership around and I would not recommend this place to anybody... read more

took my 2010 chevy hhr in for a tune up and brake work app 2 yrs ago and still not over the experience. 2 months after the tuneup i had to replace the engine and last month had to replace front roters and pads. i discussed the engine issue with staff and of course they denied everything. apparently when they were changing a plug something dropped into the cylinder through the spark plug hole. hate these people with a passion, they caused me alot of stress and financial grief. shame on you for even thinking of taking your business to them. read more

I don't know a good used car from a bad one. So my best strategy for buying a car is to go to a good car dealer. Tod Johnson is an excellent fellow, so when I needed a car, I just went straight to his lot. The man who helped me (and I'm away from my purse with his card in it, or I'd put his name in, he's great!) found me a loan and insurance that I could afford. The service has been awesome. I recommend them highly, to the extent that I took my Dad there looking for a car and he nearly bought one, but at the end decided it was a bit out of his range. Great experience. read more

I hate writing this in a way. We've purchased a used Equinox at Speedway (I notice that car buyers tend to like the experience and we were satisfied), and I also have a low-mileage 2007 Silverado that I'm deeply attached to. Like others who have left reviews, I found the service department a little nonchalant about getting things done in a timely manner--I waited over two hours for an oil change (with an appointment) once. Oh well. But last month, they told me the Silverado needed upper and lower ball joints for $1900. Thankfully, I said to wait on it. The truck has absolutely no symptoms: no clunking, no vibration, no uneven tread wear, it drives like a dream. When I checked prices on the internet, I found that the work could probably be done from 50-75% of the price quoted. So I took it to a respected independent shop for other work, and I asked them to check the ball joints, and "voila" they said the ball joints are just fine. Hmm. Not sure what happened, but I've just lost confidence in Speedway. read more

This was a few months ago now but My husband found a 2019, Tahoe at Rairdons next door to this dealership that my husband loved, it was black and I wanted white so he told me to go over to speedway and pick a brand new white one I liked and he would be back later for us to buy it, since it was to be my truck. So I went over to speedway Chevrolet looking for a New Tahoe- I was met in the lot by a older man with longer white hair- he saw I was looking at a brand new Tahoe, I asked him to look at it and he said "oh that one is really expensive"... I said ok, thinking it must have been something super fancy so I said how about that one and pointed to a different one and he says to me "oh well you will have sticker shock on that one too, how about this one" and Brings me over to a 1996 gold, ugly as can be Tahoe... I said ummmm, no thank you how about that one, and pointed to a new one again and we went through the entire thing again about how expensive it is. Apparently I looked to him like I couldn't afford a brand new Tahoe for some reason and I am guessing he wasn't in the mood to make a commission that day so after being pretty upset about the entire thing, we went back next door to rairdons dodge where they were plenty happy to accept $65k from us. Since then I have gotten my oil changed there and the service department is amazing but as for sales... we'll they must not need them and there for I will never buy from them EVER. oh and my dad just purchased a 2020 Chevy Silverado that was a $80k+ truck, he found the perfect one at speedway and was on his way to buy it but after I told him what happened to me- he agreed that they must not need the sales so he purchased from another dealership...This review is strictly toward sales, like I said, their service department is the best! read more

Purchased a used Corvette from them for my dying father who was just diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I bought the car with cash! They told me they would have to send me the title on Monday since it was the weekend. Guess what, it's been 5 weeks and still no title. After 3 weeks they said they forgot to tell me that the title had a lien on it and the bank is sending it to them! WTF- I paid cash and bought from a dealership so this wouldn't happen! I have called them 20 times to keep hearing them say that it should be coming? My next phone call will be my attorney!! Buyer Beware!! read more

My main concerns cannot be addressed because the issue that has been around for months on and off has not happened at the dealership and the computer is not pulling a code. The lights flash, horn honks, doors lock and unlock rapidly. They said that there is nothing they can do for my new 2015 Suburban with 6500 miles on it. read more

But I am mainly giving this strong rating for the way the follow-up service on this vehicle has played out. We had some rather unforeseen problems with our car and the sales manager, Morgan Weadon, absolutely stood behind his product and made sure to work through the problems with us. In 2013 I purchased my very first Silverado. It's a 2012 model. My experience was bar none the easiest and most relaxing vehicle purchase I ever had. Can not say enough good things about my salesman (Robert). Since then, my family and other friends have purchased vehicles from Robert. Everyone said he is the best they have delt with. Now recently I went in to upgrade to a Duramax 2500 because of the need for a truck that can tow and haul more than my 1500. I was a very disappointed to hear that Robert no longer works for Speedway Chevrolet. Yes I know the details and I am not at liberty to discuss. This dealership has always given top notch service. Sad to say that I will have to take my business elsewhere, wich I already have. If this dealership keeps treating their sales staff in an unfavorable maner they will no doubt lose more customers in the near future.
