No restrooms or place to wash hands. Staff would not care to tell you where to go but out the door

Double feature review for both the bar and coffeeshop ~…read more Bar: came on a Friday evening in August and it was veryyy quiet. Was told this is the norm in the summer and they were closing at 9pm (vs usual 11pm) because of it, which seemed fair. The bartender was very friendly and my hot n dirty vodka martini (olive and banana pepper juice) was delicious and well worth the $12 price tag. I cozied up on a leather chair with my book and enjoyed my time there. A few others trickled in but it stayed quiet. The bar stools were also extremely comfy. Coffeeshop: the next morning (Saturday around 10) I came in with my toddler for coffee and food. She was on a mission and there was lots for her to explore. Wish there was a gate or some sort of deterrant between the main area and the kitchen. I had a specialty coffee (chai, toffee syrup, espresso) and while yummy, a bit pricey. The same goes for my lox bagel (jalapeno). I also don't like that everything is served in disposable cups and plates. Go green! Service was okay - not very personable but I guess being busy can do that. If just reviewing the bar, I'd give full marks but the coffeeshop wasn't quite as a home run. Will absolutely come back, though! Outdoor area seems nice, too.

They now have a $10 cocktail specials menu, but every time I or my friends have ordered off it, the item we want has an ingredient that's out of stock, and they have to substitute it for something else. Seems like they run into inventory issues? Service at the bar can take quite a while. There's only ever one bartender working, even on busy trivia nights, and I hate having to awkwardly stand at the end of the bar waiting to be served, and then waiting for my drink. The girl that's usually there is a sweetie pie and so helpful, but they really need to have more than one bartender at a time. The fact that the cafe coffee shop part isn't open when the bar part is is just a missed opportunity. I'd order their latte specials at 7 pm on a Thursday over and over, but you can't. They also don't have any food options except some super snacky light bites at night when the bar is open - missed money opportunity, people would get baked goods and sandwiches etc later at night! The furniture is pretty comfy and coffee shop like, but the low back and cushion placement on the couch is so uncomfortable to me, and the large soft chairs are way too deep so I can't either sit forward or comfortably sit back without my feet sticking in the air. Just very awkward furniture. I'd like to come during the coffee shop hours to try a latte since their specials always sound fun and are seasonal, but their set up just annoys me - I want to get a latte and then a cocktail 30 minutes later on the same visit, not have to come at the exact right time of day. There's room for improvement for sure. I also wish their trivia was displayed on a screen as it can be very loud and hard to understand the questions when they are only spoken verbally. Easy location off a main road, and the bathrooms are always very clean and well stocked.

Their frozen hot chocolate was a high school staple, their flavored coffee and work friendly ambiance got me through graduate school, and I never visit RI without bringing back a bag of chocolate chip cookie beans. I've taken meetings at their small tables, curled up in an armchair with a book by the fireplace, gone on dates on the patio and snuggled with my infant daughter on the couch. There's a spot for whatever you need - as long as you get there before the rush! My go-to has always been a jalapeno bagel with jalapeno cream cheese; their baked goods are all made in-house and are chefs kiss. Once I became a coffee drinker I always opted for a black flavor of the day but have slowly been switching to a seasonal latte. It's all yummy. I love seeing their menu items grow and will occasionally treat myself to a slice of cake. It's not a cheap coffeeshop but I personally don't find it to be outlandish. Unfortunately indoors is not the most friendly atmosphere for a rambunctious toddler so on crummy weather days I visit other coffeeshops. The patio is better, though. They could also use a changing table for little ones. Regardless I'll still keep coming back!

It was really good but their sizes are huge. I got a medium and it was more like a large. They also sprinkled little lavender pieces on top which I thought was gross and it kept getting caught in my mouth. My mom got the almond joy latte which was super yum and strong, definitely doesn't skimp on the espresso. We also got a chocolate chip banana bread slice which was amazing! 2 drinks and the bread came out to $20- wayyyy to much in my opinion. I would maybe come again but I'm not really inclined to with the wait, how expensive they are, and there are better options that are closer to me.

My coffee drink was a house special iced coffee and was just delicious. I ordered a simple breakfast of eggs, pork sausage, and sourdough. Everything toast. I'm a small eater and was able to bring home half of my serving which I had the next day. Placed in the toaster oven briefly 'twas absolutely delicious the second time around as well! We checked out their catering and to go items, sandwiches, salads, and pastries. The lines were queued with eager customers. Folks kept coming in regularly for both in and out side dining! I walked in on autopilot and headed left to grab my coffee, only to realize the entire layout had changed. The new bar area is beautiful, inviting and such a great addition to the space. Coffee service has moved to the back and while I was checking out the prepackaged gluten-free muffins in the cooler, I was warmly greeted by the staff. I ordered the Iced Grasshopper with milk and it was delicious. Smooth, refreshing and the perfect summer coffee. Very minty. One of the employees noticed me looking around and took the time to explain all of the renovations, show me the new bar and point out their weekend dinner specials, which can also be ordered for takeout. That personal touch really stood out. If you're stopping in for coffee, don't miss the specials board. The dinner menu looked fantastic and I'll definitely be back to give it a try. It's great to see a local business continue to grow while keeping such friendly, welcoming service.
