Everything bagel sausage egg and cheese (barely toasted)
    Daniel Y.

Heard they had great sandwiches and I was kind of hungry this particular morning so I gave it a shot. Pulled up the drive thru and placed an order for an everything bagel sausage egg and cheese. Sat at the window for some time and the bagel sandwich was finally done after 15 minutes. I found the bagel to be under toasted and was very doughy in texture. The sandwich was really nothing to get excited over. I would have to try something else next time but the bagel really needs to get toasted way more than what I got.

The food, coffee and teas are always amazing here. However, the customer service is seriously lacking... Is it that hard to say good morning to someone or respond back when they say Goodmorning? I feel like I am always inconveniencing the person taking my order when I say "Hi, good morning" and receive nothing as a response back and they just stare back at you. I really do enjoy this place and was traveling out of my way 30 minutes just to come here for food but lately the past few visits have not been very welcoming.

Such a cute spot, right off the highway for easy access. I got an iced coffee and a french toast muffin, I highly recommend! The muffin is so delicious, moist, and fluffy! And the coffee is great. Cute shop with some indoor seating. The workers were very nice, too. All around good local spot to try!

Second time and still an amazing spot to stop by! The crisped eggplant caprese sandwich is definitely my go to now. The acai bowl was delicious. It's not majority of greek yogurt like other spots. Definitely is a filling and healthy breakfast option. The acai sorbet was more like I was eating an amazing dessert. Ordered the iced matcha and iced coffee with espresso and pistachio flavoring.

This place is adorable, and the sandwich was absolutely phenomenal. Kind staff, cute space, would definitely come back!

Great spot for coffee! I ordered an Iced Mocha and the service was great! It was quick and the baristas were so kind. I went in to order but I love that they also have a drive thru. Lots of seating indoors as well.

Great atmosphere love the food. It will be a wait since it's not fast food. Worth the wait every time I must say !

What a hidden gem! We came here for a late breakfast/brunch and it did not disappoint. It's a small restaurant with a few tables inside and a very small outdoor seating area. We went through the drive thru and ate in our car. For a drink, we got a medium Iced Cafe Mocha Latte with oat milk and it was so good. The medium was bigger than I expected and the coffee was delicious albeit very sweet but that's par for the course for a mocha. For food, we got the breakfast burrito without bacon and it was fresh and filling. We also got the vegetarian wrap which was stellar. Some vegetarian wraps leave me hungry but not this one. It was packed with fresh ingredients and had sooo much flavor. The wrap comes with your choice of coleslaw, chips, pasta salad, or bread n butter pickles. I got the pasta salad and it was a small serving but it hit the spot - pasta, mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and dressing. We pulled up to the window and saw that they sell Day Olds for $1 so we got a pistachio muffin for only $1! I love that they do this - a great way to reduce food waste. We only interacted with one member of staff but they were friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

I found this place throughout the RI food fights July iced coffee challenge. They had a nice selection of iced coffee flavors. They also have an assortment on sandwiches including willow tree, that they can make as a melt. Generous portion. My sister got the açaí bowl with a large selection of toppings. There were some nice pastries. The coffee roll was huge with delicious frosting. They have nice seating to chat. Kid friendly with some activities and drawings posted. Plenty of parking.

With a friend's band on their entertainment schedule, I found the perfect opportunity to try it out. I was looking forward to both the music and the food and while the music was amazing, my overall experience didn't quite live up to expectations. Pro: - My friends and I were able to reserve a table ahead of time, which helped secure space to enjoy the show. We had an up close and personal view, and it definitely made for an immersive experience. Cons: - The space is way too small for live bands. The band was squeezed into a corner, and the closest table was practically on top of the lead singer. The small space in front of the band may have been meant for dancing, but it blocked the path to the bathrooms and food service. It felt cramped, loud, and uncomfortable. - The pub-height tables had tall chairs that were wobbly and unstable. I'm not a big person, but even I felt like I might tip over sitting there. Plus, the layout was so tight that we all had to get up every time someone wanted to wiggle their way to the bar or the bathroom. - Our waitress disappeared for long stretches of time, and service was painfully slow. We ended up having to go up to the bar for refills between courses because no one was around to help. - The food was disappointing. I ordered the house-made tavern chips (which look like potato chips on the website) but got plain tortilla chips instead. I also had two hot weiners, and while they had all the right toppings, the flavor was all wrong. The meat sauce tasted burnt, and they were completely overloaded with celery salt. It was honestly the worst I've ever had. Others at the table felt underwhelmed with their selections as well - the quesadilla was soggy and the appetizer sampler was just okay. - The bathroom locks were unreliable. The lock on the door failed halfway through my visit, and it took several attempts to get the button to work again, which made for a pretty awkward experience. Given this visit, I'm unlikely to return. If I do, it'd have to be for a great band, and I'll definitely eat somewhere else beforehand.

My fiancé and I ordered the Dominican breakfast, its eggs over medium, fried cheese, fried salami, mashed plantains with onions. Now I'm Hispanic and I love me a good Dominican breakfast but this was one of the best I've had ever! And trust me I've had many! Firstly the salami and cheese pieces were nice and big, I'm used to people being cheap and making them very small. Also we did pick up- so we were there a few waiting as it was made fresh, which I appreciate! The server I wish I would've got her name had us have a seat at the bar and got us water while we waited. She was such an aunty vibe and I loved it. I was observing others who were sitting down eating and their food looked so yummy! They were also equally out loud expressing how much they enjoyed their food. Also the plates are all decked out and even the tables they gave off love vibes! This place while very small, packed a punch. Me and my fiancé are going to come back probably this weekend to sit down and enjoy a meal and I'm so excited. Give this place a go for sure. They have limited parking in the front on the street. But they have a good amount of parking in the back of the building. Trust me it's worth it.

There is no 'handicapped parking' specifically for Gel's due to the way the parking lot is designed. There is a small vestibule between the outside and the inside where you will find a community food pantry. Take something if you need it, or leave something for your neighbors. This is such a lovely offering and very much in line with Gel's local community mind set. The doors into the vestibule are heavy glass and metal. Seat yourself in one of the booths. When they remodeled they added a small bar to the back area if you prefer counter seating. They offer a variety of mimosa flavors at breakfast and beer and wine at lunch. Although I suppose if you want a beer with your eggs, have at it. The front and side walls have large windows making the interior bright. They offer so many specials. Check out all the white boards on the back wall above the counter seating. These are in addition to their standard menu. Breakfast items include egg based meals (eggs & bacon & toast for ex.), pancakes, hash and lots of al la carte sides. Coffee is good and comes with free refills. The lunch menu includes sandwiches, salads, soups, wraps and they have a kids menu too. They also offer Kino if you like. They sell Gel's merch (holiday gifts?) and decorate for all the holidays.

It was something else before (we visited for RI Food Fights #LordOfTheWings some years ago) but the establishment is under new management with a revamped menu. As a wife of a veteran, it is always wonderful to support a veteran-owned business. They wear their service on their proverbial sleeves. Everywhere you look, there is a tribute to our heroes. Hubby is a fan of meat on meat on meat pizza so we ordered the Cardiac Special - pepperoni, sausage, meatball, bacon & ham. There was a good amount of meat, pizza held up to the weight of the toppings & it was very tasty. I was in the mood for chicken strips & we ordered Garlic Parmesan & Nashville Hot. For former was nice & garlicky, the latter was spicy but not killer. Large juicy pieces of chicken that were lightly breaded. I want more! That evening, Flat River Tavern was hosting music bingo. The dude running it came up to us as we sat down to invite us to play. We weren't interested but it was fun to listen to the music for the game. Flat Service, and a River of disappointment…read more I had high hopes as my brother had mentioned he had been here a few times and really enjoyed it Went here after watching a game with my father in Saturday. He is 82, and I'm no spring chicken either. The place was moderately busy, but definitely not packed. We found seats at the bar right away and sat down. We were immediately treated (assaulted?) to the sounds of a warbling guitarist on furlough from a nearby assisted living, dutifully plucking out misaligned chords along with a voice that would make RFK Jr. sound like Pavarotti's protege. She worked through several tunes from her hippie-esque youth, which seemed a a stark contrast to the overblown MAGA-licious decor of the place. Dad and I sat at the bar, ignored for several minutes while we watched the young woman bartender chat with and serve several other guests. This included people who had already been served drinks and meals. No "hello". No "I'll be right with you", just chatting and chatting and chatting with two guys halfway down the bar and pouring beers for the folks who still had what was left of their first (fifth?) beer in front of them. It was then that we saw another man behind the bar walking towards us. And I thought, "oh, this must be his part of the bar, then. Surely he'll greet us and pour us a beer." NOPE. The guy gets to about three feet from us at the bar and turns away from us to face the wall, remote in his hand. He's not a server, he's the 'change-the-channel' guy. A task he performed with all the skill and charisma of a WalMart greater on work release. That's it for me. I'm 10 minutes in and no one has even acknowledged that we were at the bar. I tell Dad we're heading and we both stand up to put on our coats. The grinding sound of the chairs sliding back across the sticky floor must have inspired the lone remaining customer service neuron in the Flirty McTownie's bartender brain because as I was putting on my coat she managed to slog her self over to where we were to ask "Hey guys, can I get you something?" "We're all set" was pretty much the only response I could muster that wouldn't have included a torrent of curses and insinuations regarding questionable parentage. We left Honestly, unless there's no other choice, drive the extra 6 minutes into town. There are much better bars and restaurants with much better service, Old Theater Diner or Black Oak among them. Frankly, you'd probably get better service at the hot counter at Dave's... Probably better pizza too... Though we wouldn't know.
